no surprise there given how humid it was the last couple of days. you can see some cloud cover off to the west that will probably start to filter in as the day goes on but we should start out fairly clear and get that sun up over the horizon fairly bright. how about numbers right now, though. already 77 degrees in philadelphia, 70 in allentown, 74 in wilmington and millville, 76 in sea isle city. these numbers may dip a little bit over next hour or two but then they're going to really bounce back up in a hurry. as you head outside a lot of you catching the school bus. 75 degrees by 6 o'clock, 78 by 8 o'clock. mainly clear but muggy conditions. as we roll through the day it's going to be a hot one. 81 degrees by 9 o'clock, 89 by plan to and 94 degrees by 3 o'clock. that is going to be your high today. it will probably feel like it's more like 100 degrees, what with the combination of the heat and humidity. and then 88 by 6 o'clock. the later we get in through the afternoon and especially this evening there is the chance of a drenching shower or thunderstorm. karen, vile more on that with

future -- i'll have more on that with future tracker 6. >> live in new jersey, 42, your northbound traffic here at creek road no, delays just yet. looking pretty good but expect extra northbound traffic perhaps some late comers coming back from the jersey shore points but for now you're looking pretty good. the action cam is on the scene of the ben franklin parkway. here we are looking live and things are looking good at this hour. just reopened at this point following the cleanup from the made in america. all restrictions should be lifted within the next hour so looking live right now we still see the lights on flash at this point no, traffic out there but hearing they just reopened it and things are looking pretty good out there. let's check the roosevelt boulevard right now here and at holme avenue traffic lights are fixed. better situation there. things are back to normal. ben franklin bridge westbound construction blocks the two right lanes so watch for that one. one issue is an accident and it's in berks county, route 422 and this is near 662, so watch for that accident and certainly watch for more school buses back on the roads as they come each day this

week, tam. >> okay, thank you, ca aren't. well, we're just about an hour away from a full shutdown of a hotel casino. 3,000 workers are about to be out of a job. the action cam is taking a live look. the hotel shut down yesterday. the glistening jewel of atlantic city attracted billions of dollars in investment money but hit to take on so much debt it could never turn a profit and there were some key stumbling blocks. the construction at revel began just before the great recession hit. industry experts say the luxury casino also made a bad bet by targeting high rollers not doing more to lure everyday atlantic city gamblers and there was no player's club or transportation for gamers. demetrius heart is one of the workers about to be unemployed. >> being laid off but that's all right, you know. one door closes another one opens up. >> the slots must be moved out of revel for now because the property could not be sold in bankruptcy court. the trump plaza is scheduled to close in two weeks.

showboat closed yesterday. governor chris christie will take part in a summit this week about the future of atlantic city. a resource center to help laid off casino workers will open on wednesday at the atlantic city convention center. it will help workers file unemployment applications and sign up for health coverage under the affordable care act. workers will also be able to learn how to get assistance with food and utilities. and process of shutting down a casino is more complex than just putting a closed sign on the door. at 6:00 a.m. there will be an announcement over the loudspeaker. revel's private casino guards will immediately secure the money and gambling chips supervised by new jersey state police and inspectors from the state division of gaming enforcement. security will also have to oversee the orderly exit of the patrons in order to prevent vandalism. teller windows will stay opened for a few hours to allow gamblers to cash out. people can go to revel to cash in chips until september 30. any open bottles of alcohol have been have to be tossed. sealed bottles, though, those can be resold.

the doors will be locked tight and security guards will remain in place as revel pursues a post shutdown buyer. >> ♪ >> new this morning a driver was injured in a one-car crash overnight. it happened on kelly drive near midvale avenue in philadelphia it's east fall section before 1:00 a.m. the driver lost control and rolled over and was treated at the scene for minor injuries. police in south jersey arrested a woman on suspicion that she helped her boyfriend during a murderous crime spree in virginia. andrea mullen who lives in elkton, virginia was captured in washington township gloucester county. police say her 1997 dodge caravan was used in a robbery in virginia. mullen's boyfriend, richard smith, is suspected of murdering an 80-year-old man, then stealing his car. smith and the car have not yet been found. >> it is 5:05 and protesters say a market in philadelphia's point breeze section is selling bb guns to minors. these protesters say that is

against city ordinances. the protesters gathered last night outside the business itself the point safe supermarket at point breeze and la tonya avenue. kids said they got their bb guns from the point state market. councilman kenyatta johnson plans to have l and i look into these allegations. >> it's disgusting. you have a business that's selling bb guns to children and some of the children could be mistaken as using a real gun to possibly be murdered. >> the owner of the point safe market would not talk to reporters and the store closed early last night. >> investigators suspect a fire at a berks county school is a case of arson. flames destroyed two sheds late saturday night which housed practice equipment for the football team in exeter township high school. they found suspicious damage including slashed signs around exeter's athletic field. >> this morning a lot of families are getting up, getting kids ready to go stands at the bus stop, make

it through the day and you say they need to keep in mind it's going to be really warm today. >> yeah, hot and humid later on this afternoon especially, tam. as we take a look at storm tracker 6 live double scan, no precipitation this morning. looking outside, we have probably a lot of sunshine on the way a little bit later on. we can go ahead and take a look at that and there you see the airport, we are dry, it's tranquil, not a lot of wind out there and obviously still muggy and hot or at least warm this morning following the last couple of hot days. 77 degrees right now in philadelphia. 74 in wilmington and 70 in allentown. 74 degrees in millville. 76 in sea isle and at the boardwalk in atlantic city. as we take a look at conditions today, it is going to be oppressive out there with dewpoints over 70 for most of afternoon so really take it easy much the way you had to the last couple days as the humidity is going to be very, very noticeable. future tracker 6 showing you how there will be a mix of clouds and sun through most of the morning but it looks like we stay dry and most of the afternoon is likely dry as well.

but we get into the evening hours we have to keep an eye out for showers and thunderstorms. anything that does come can produce gusty downpours. 10 and 11 o'clock starting to see that starting to die down. adam may have you something to show you tonight. no escape from the heat and humidity. 91 in the lehigh valley with a late thunderstorm possible, especially in the evening and at the shore we're going for ocean temperatures in the 70's and temperatures on the beach well into the 80's this afternoon. warm and humid and again, a chance of a late thunderstorm possible. and then 94 is the high in philadelphia. hot and humid conditions and late thunderstorms also not out of the question particularly in the evening hours. little bit breezy out there. not that the breeze is going to help with that high humidity and heat. 78 by 8 o'clock, 86 by 11 o'clock and then we spend the afternoon in the 90's with our high of 94 probably around 3 o'clock. tomorrow, though, all that of cloud cover gets on out of

here and so does the higher humidity and heat as it sounds like it's going to be or it will be a much nicer day, feeling a lot nicer out there with lower humidity. 94 is today's high, hot and humid conditions, a shower or thunderstorm can't be ruled out late in the day and especially this evening. and then tomorrow less humid, still warm, a high of 88 and really nice for the union game at ppl park against toronto and then we're at 88 on thursday and 90 on friday. humidity probably remaining fairly low in through here but by saturday the warmth and the humidity tick back upward, we get a high of 88 a-late thunderstorm can't be ruled out. on sunday for that eagles game partly sunny overall with a high of 80 although there might be a bit muggy with a chance of a pop-up shower or thunderstorm. >> david thanks. britain's prime minister outlines bowled new anti-terror measures as he deals with growing islamic extremism in that country. >> what you watch on television may influence how quickly you get to the bottom

you download the free waze app. i have it on the ipad. not too many issues looking pretty good but on the schuylkill eastbound lower merion someone talking about an object on the roadway so watch for that as you're headed outer. no real issues with visibility in philadelphia for sure. 10 miles but 1.7-mile visibility in trenton and a touch of fog in lancaster with # visibility down to .3 of a mile. other than that looking pretty good for the morning hours. it's going to be a hot and steamy day. 94 for your high, hot and humid with a chance for a late day thunderstorm around, tam. >> okay, thank you, karen. the pentagon says american military forces conducted a mission inside somalia targeting the islamic extremist network. defense department officials would confirm no other details while the results are being assessed. an al-qaeda affiliate claimed responsibility for the deadly massacre in kenya last year. >> ♪ in accordance with the law president obama cents a letter could congress yesterday it lets lawmakers know he authorized this weekend's

rounds of airstrikes in northern iraq. the strikes supported humanitarian aid drops. the airstrikes also reportedly helped iraq reclaim the town of amerli which isis had taken control of back in june. meanwhile britain has taken first steps to prevents its citizens from joining the ranks of isis. prime minister david cameron proposed a measure that would allow police to seize the passports of people suspected of traveling abroad to fight with terrorist groups. british intelligence officials estimate close to 500uk nationals have gone to syria and potentially iraq in order to join up with extremists. >> cole hamels and the phillies bullpen made collective history. they pitched the team's first combined no-hitter in its 131 year existence. hamels was on the mound for six no hit innings but walked five batters and threw 108 pitches on a hot day in atlanta. marlon byrd's nice catch saved the no-hitter.

the partial collapse happened along the 4800 block of wood land avenue. there are ground floor storefronts and luckily they were unoccupied at the time. city inspectors have yet to determine if the neighboring buildings were also compromised. >> lot more school buses on the road so people going back to school let's see what's happening. you know what, it's early and we're looking good but we have some construction out there on the ben franklin bridge as we look live from center city. that's your westbound construction. construction blocking the two right lanes but they hope to open an additional lane for the morning rush which would be some good news as we expect some heavier volume as people start to come back. septa regional rails manayunk norristown line a special schedule goes into effect today through september 14 due to track work. inbound trains will depart five minutes earlier than regularly scheduled. >> warm and muggy out there this morning, karen. we're already in the 70's by 9 o'clock we'll be up to 81 degrees. 89 degrees by noon and then shortly after that into the 90's and staying there for a

good portion of the afternoon. today's high is 94. the heat index will probably make it feel more like 100 because of the high humidity and then we're back to 88 by 6 o'clock. there's the slight chance of a pop-up shower or thunderstorm late in the day. i think a better chance for most of you is probably this evening and some of those could produce drenching downpours. as we head to the airport for now we don't have any of that thunderstorm activity. that's not until basically this evening so all green aircraft on the big board at the airport none travel delays with any of our frequently traveled destinations this morning. tam. >> thank you david. more evidence that breastfeeding has life long benefits for infants and for their mothers. researchers compared six year olds and they found children who had been breastfed had lower rates of obesity, that they drank more water than sugar sweetened beverages and ate more fruits and vegetables. they found the longer a mother breastfed and waited to introduce foods the less ear and sinus infections. women who breastfed shed on

shore, sky 6 hd looking there in atlantic city where it is a sad morning for about 3,000 workers there as that casino, the revel, hotel and casino will finally close its doors today. 25 sailors and marines survived the frightening crash avenue u.s. navy helicopter at sea yesterday. they were aboard a chopper just like this one as it attempted to land on the u.s.s. mesa verde. file video shows how difficult it can be to land these choppers amid strong wind and choppy waves while the ship is moving. the helicopter clipped the ship. it crashed between somalia and yemen. a police officer in port lands oregon shot a man waving a gun at drivers on a highway. investigators say the man ran from the freeway after he was hit by the bullet and collapsed on a nearby street. he is expected to survive. >> ♪ >> in the morning buzz there's this whole industry, this economy that has developed around this burning manifest value that's held every year out west and what someone has
