>> good morning, 5:30, saturday, september 13, here some of the stories we're following on "action news." an elderly woman is killed when a fire sweeps through her south philadelphia home. a nearly 60-year-old highrise has a date with a did he demolition crew this morning.

we're tracking possible rain to start off the weekend. chris sowers looking at the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. we haven't said that to start off our weekend in a long as time. >> reporter: there's been a couple of weekends where there's been shower activity, today it doesn't look bad, there could be a little bit of rain. nobody want to see wet weather on the weekend. that's the big issue. temperatures are cool be highs in the upper 60s, north and west, low 70s, south and east. there could be a few showers out there from time to time. 54 degrees right now in reading and allentown. 63 in philadelphia. 48 chilly stuff in the poconos. speaking of cool, wait until you see what happens tomorrow morning at the same time. all these numbers in the 40s, a cold shot is on the way. trenton, 59. millville, 58. sea isle, 70 and dover, 65. we have a couple of areas of low

pressure approaching the area, one to the north approaching the great lakes and one down across the virginias and the carolinas. they will push southwest to northeast. providing cloud cover and the occasional shower. 9:00 a.m., cloudy skies, this is pretty much what your sky will look like all day, real clear, low-level clouds, sometimes we'll see light rain or showers spread through the area. as we look ahead, 50/50 weekend. a cool morning temperatures in the 40s. it stays cool throughout the entire seven-day forecast, i'll have the complete forecast when i come back in just just a bit. we have breaking news out of pikes county, pennsylvania, there has been a shooting at state police barracks. details are sketchy, but we know

it happened at the barracks of blooming grove, 35 miles east of scranton. no word on how many people were shot. the pike county coroner has been called to the scene. we'll keep you updated at 6abc.com and 6abc. new this morning, a philadelphia house fire has claimed the life of an 82-year-old woman. the action cam was at the scene on the 2800 block of the street, the woman was pronounced at the scene. the woman's daughter was able to escape without injuries. investigators found a smoke alarm in the basement. there's word on a cause. two women were hurt in an

overnight crash in northeast philadelphia. police say they were traveling south on rising sun avenue around adams around 2:00 a.m. when the driver lost control and ran off the road. the car hit a utility pole and traffic light before flipping over. both were taken to einstein for treatment. no word on any charge in that crash. nfl star adrien peterson has been indicted on charges of child abuse. he was accused of using a branch to spank his son. the branch caused welts on his legs and but the to comes and again tills. he use his judgment to discipline his child the way he was disciplined by his own father. he was benched for the game against new england. nfl is agreement to sweeping new drug policy.

to last august. the showboat began shutting down operations in august, the atlanta club closed in january, if you take those out, and add online casino revenue, the profits rose this august compared to last august. yesterday trump entertainment sent layoff warning notices to employees at the taj taj mahal. now in bankrupt the company is threatening to shut down november 13 without union concessions. local 54 said giving into concession trump is buried in too much debt to survive. the company's other casino trump plaza closes on tuesday. it's a big weekend in atlantic city, a new miss america will be crowned there this weekend, the pageant kicks off the weekend with a stroll on the ac steel peer.

everybody north and west will be in the 40s, dover 65 and sea isle city on the boardwalk in atlantic city, looks like you're leading the pack sitting at 70 degrees. satellite and radar, you can see the clouds overspreading the area from southwest to northeast. today you'll not see any sunshine at all. it will be a gray and gloomy day, we're watching the advancement of these two areas, one across the eastern great lakes and one forming across the western portions of north carolina. they will converge on the delaware valley during the course of the day, it will provide us with showers from time to time. there's the first one along the coast, it will ride the frontal system that will pull to the northeast. winds will strengthen out of the northeast, 10 to 15 miles per hour that will lock the cloud cover in. again, there will be showers from time to time. tomorrow it's a complete opposite. a 180. beautiful, lots of sunshine, nice mild day that holds through monday. high pressure is still in control. monday looks like a combination

of sun and clouds, mild with highs in the low to mid 70s. monday night into tuesday that systems moves in and it could bring wet weather to the area. the clouds will lower and thicken, around 10, 11:00 maybe we start to see spritzes and sprinkles. that transitions over to shower activity and rushes out to sea by 6:00 or 7:00. there's a small window of rain from west to east from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. that's about it. it's not a washout today, but there will be a few drops from time to time. for the jersey shore, some rain is expected, only 74 degrees, this is not a beach day. tomorrow, sunny and nice, a little bit chilly highs in the low 70s, a strengthing wind out of the north at 10 to 20 miles per hour. philadelphia, clouds, rain,
