their way into the delaware valley just yet. we are expecting a little bit of wet weather. the winds will pick up off the shore. if you're doing boating or fishing, you'll have to deal with the rain drops later on. temperatures are in the 40s and 50s. south and east, aiblgdz -- a little bit milder we're feeling the ocean influence, 70 degrees is on the immediate coast and low 60s inland across south jersey. satellite and radar, we have two systems we're watching this morning, one right here across the eastern great lakes and a second one across the virginias and the coal line in as. the bulk of the rain will come through here, lots of clouds and low visibility and the occasion shower. it's not looking like a nice

day, tomorrow looks better by far. day planner, 9:00 a.m., 65 degrees, most areas dry at that point. shortly after, 10, 11, we'll see the showers move in. lunchtime, showers and 73, -- 3:00 p.m., 71 degrees, and anticipating a high of 72. eva. >> police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run in north philadelphia. a police patrol car was following a honda pilot that was speeding down allegheny avenue. it ran several redlights walking across the street. the victim was thrown and hit by another vehicle. the honda went about 4 more blocks when police say the driver got out and made a run for it.

so far police have not said if the man they have taken into custody is the driver. the action cam was in hockessin, delaware, where a bicyclist was killed by a hit-and-run driver. it happened at 8:45 last night. a passer by discovered the victim after the accident and called 911. the search continues this morning for the driver. a bizarre accident sent three pedestrians and a driver to the hospital in camden. it happened at 7:45 near 7th and spruce streets after the driver lost control of the car. police say the driver was the most seriously hurt. it took nearly an hour for rescuers to cut him free from the wreckage and rush him to cooper university hospital. the driver and one of the pedestrians are in critical condition. the other two pedestrians were treated and released. it's took a philadelphia jury just 6 hours to find

christina regusters guilty on 6 counts. prosecutors said they they coult have done it without the brave 6-year-old victim and key piece of evidence a talking burdened. >> reporter: it took 6 hours for the jury to convict the former day care worker. a 19-year-old who wore a muslim disguise to gain access to the child's class at bryant elementary. itshe took her to a nearby housekeeping the girl naked under the bed. she tried to fool the five-year-old into thinking three people were involved. >> she fed her information about this alleged man showing her a picture on the cell phone.

>> reporter: a day later she was left alone after dark at a park dressed only in a t-shirt. police closed in on the suspect with the little girl's help. >> the child was able to identify the home from the back stairway, knew this was the bird. >> reporter: this is mattery the bird, video taped inside the home after she was arrested. police say this is a closed case, but the lawyer said there's others involved. >> i don't think she had the capability of coming up with the scheme like this. >> reporter: the victim's mother we want when the verdict came down. the family launched a suit against the school district in philadelphia alleging gross negligence. >> she took the child out of the school and handed over to a

stranger. they never asked for i.d. >> reporter: she is expected to sentenced in december, the d.a. is seeking a life sentence. sharrie williams. >> a 06-year-old apartment buildings in germantown section is coming down this morning. the 16 story buildings will be imploded in a little more than an hour. it was home to 113 units before it was vacated three years ago. neighbors objected to initial plans for the site. today's implosion will make for 22 million-dollar project of row homes and townhomes. a berks county man was found passed out in a car with two children and three homemade

bombs. a passer by spotted james wallie passed out. police arrested him. what the bombs were for, it's unclear, it's not known if the children are his. he is charge with weapons of mass destruction and risking a catastrophe. >> a heroin dealer is off the streets of newark, delaware, authorities say he is just 14 years old. police were patrolling near the intersection of colonial circle and around court when they witness the the boy selling drugs to several people. when officers approached the teeny threw 25 bags of heroin on the ground. he was arrested and is in custody at the new castle county detention center. a day care worker who served dozens of children bleach water. is out of the a job. instead of using water from a

cooler she took it from a bottle that was used for cleaning. the state children's welfare department is investigating. police in wilmington want torched the person who administered life-saving cpr to a stranger and left. a 76-year-old man collapsed on the street at 6th and king streets. witnesses say someone jumped into action and checked for a pulse and performed cpr until rescuers arrived. >> we wants to thank him or her for a job well done. >> reporter: the victim was transported to saint francis hospital, at last check he he is in stable condition. it was opening night for allentown's 17 million-dollar ppl center. they were taking it easy. ♪

son, we'll see quite a bit of snow if this pattern continues. we get a start out front, the front will cool everybody down and stall off the coast and an area of low pressure will develop on it, it will ride northeast. it will throw moisture in over the ocean. we'll see a frontal system stalled out right here, and we'll get an area of low pressure developing on the western side of the front that is pulling toward the northeast. this is a quick-moving system. it doesn't have a lot of the time to gather a lot of moisture, but it's the fact that we're seeing these southern storms developing. this particular system will provide us with shower activity during the late morning and afternoon hours. lunchtime, 70 degrees, and noontime, a few drops. 5:00 p.m., same thing, a few drops out there. >> the phillies face the marlins, and more on adrien

35 miles north of scranton. police are searching for the gunman at this hour, we'll keep you updated on 6abc and 6abc.com as the information becomes available. a 16 story eye sore in the germantown section an implosion will bring down a vacant apartment buildings in less than an hour. the 16 story building will be imploded at 7:15 a.m. the apartment building was ones home to 115 units until it was vacated three years ago. the philadelphia housing authority wanted to demolish it then, but neighbors objected to the initial plans for the site. today's implosion will make way for 22 million-dollar to 55 rental unit of townhomes and low rise buildings. new this morning a south

philadelphia house fire has claimed the life of an 82-year-old woman. the action cam was at the scene of the 2800 block of south philadelphia. the blaze broke out at 10:00 p.m. when fire engines arrived flames were spitting out of both floors. firefighters pulled the victim from a second floor bedroom. she was pronounced at the scene. the woman's daughter was able to escape without injuries. investigators found a smoke alarm in the basement, but no word on a cause. two women were hurt in an overnight crash in northeast philadelphia. police say they were traveling south on rising sun avenue near adams avenue around 2:00 p.m. when the driver lost control and ran off the road. the car hit a utility pole and traffic light before flipping over. one of the women was trapped inside, both were taken to einstein hospital for treatment. no word on any charges in that crash. the d.a. will seek a life

sentence for christina regusters who was convicted of abdomin ducking a 5-year-old from school. the girl suffered severe injuries. her family is suing the philadelphia school district for negligence. homes appear to be sinking in one block of philadelphia's east wick section and residents are asking for help. city council johnson, the army corps of engineers and congressional representatives took a look at the damage on the 6900 block of grosspeek place. >> cracked basements, sunken garages, this is what we're up against. >> we can't sell it, our homeowners is cancel be, but we

>> reporter: welcome back, everyone, 6:55, time to look at the tropics, we have an area of low pressure off the coast of florida northeast of miami. this low is in the process of close crossing over the peninsula now. we're not expecting it to form in the next 48 hours, but the ocean temperatures, actually this is the gulf, are well up in the 80s which will allow for development. the wind sheers, as long as those winds relax with ocean temperatures this mild it should not be too hard to get this to develop. we think it will hit somewhere west of tampa, by this time tomorrow and it will start drifting to the west. from that point on we'll see it
