for the storm tracker 6 live radar. the latest video from our "action news" meteorologists and our collection of weather-related photos and videos. we're following a story out of pike county, pennsylvania. the search is on for a gunman who ambushed troopers during a shift change at a state police barracks. one trooper is dead and another wounded in the shooting. it happened around 11:00 p.m. at the barracks in blooming grove township, which is about 30 miles east of scranton. police are looking for the gunman in a wooded area where the shots came from. >> we've had all basically law enforcement agencies in the northeast are working with us. it's a grave concern to us, we're putting every resource available to the pennsylvania state police or law enforcement in pennsylvania in action. >> there's no word on what led

his 4-year-old son allegedly stained injuries to his but the to the -- buttocks, thigh and groin. his mother took the child to doctors who suspected physical abuse and alerted police. in a statement to abc news, peterson's attorney saying the star running back is cooperating with police using his parenting to discipline his son. he never intended to harm his son. it's another bombshell for nfl commissioner roger goodell already regal from the fallout of ray rice' caught on tape assault of his wife. in the video it shows a starkly different account than originally shareholder. goodell changing his suspension from a two-game to indefendant. indefinite. >> there's a lot more that

temperatures are on the cool side, on and off shower activity, we're not checking the temperatures to jump very high. as a matter of fact i wouldn't be surprised if most of the area was stuck in the 60s. poconos, 50, allentown, 57. 65 in the city. look at the temperature contrast, 20 degrees. wait until you see the temperatures tomorrow. the ocean temperatures will stay in the 70s, out through here, mid 40s, huge drop in temperatures with this system as it passes on by. right now it's off to the southwest. that's why we're seeing the moisture gather out here. that will pull through later this afternoon. we'll see light rain north and west of the city. we'll zoom in there first, storm tracker 6 live double scan east of the delaware river everybody is dry, a few spritzes or sprinkles. malvern reporting steady to occasional moderate rain.

pilots and green lane the same thing. this is a lighter batch of moisture pulling through. we have two areas of low pressure competing for the same energy source. there's the first low there's the second. because these are competing with each other, we'll see a couple of scattered showers, two weaker storms pass on bias opposed if these two came together and merged into one gigantic storm. there's a little bit of a break right there. we'll see scattered showers this afternoon. perhaps the bigger story is the cold air charging in on the backside with that departing area of low pressure. bismarck is 43. you get in the high plains and northern rockies they have seen their earliest reported snowfall ever, this is a serious shot of cold air. on him had a, 43 and everybody out here seeing windchills in the 20s and 30s.

on south you're talking about half a million dollars for a condo. >> reporter: the casino crisis has crushed the valley of the city's properties especially casinos and property taxes skyrocketed 29% last year and 22% the year before. guardian is slashing city budgets including police and fire. that's not good news for business and investors who are worried about crime blocks from the boardwalk. guardian knows he needs millions of dollars from the state. he needs tourists who are not coming to gamble. guardian is atlantic city's first openly gay mayor. this past summer he planted the flag to make new york avenue beach a gay-friendly beach. you said this is where you came when you wented to have a good time. straight people came to these

in the western suburbs they are seeing rain, harrisburg, allentown and pilots and -- pottstown, and reading. 422 are reporting wet weather. every now and then you pick up an occasion moderate shower. for the most part this is on the light side. it is pushing off to the northeast 15 to 20 miles per hour. northeast extension into quakertown and allentown and the poconos that area will be getting wet shortly. later on this afternoon, accuweather says expect a lot of clouds, it will be cool, highs around 81 degrees, today we're forecasting a high of 72. i have to be honest i'm not optimistic i'll hit that mark. light rain will develop. the wettest time frame will be between lunchtime and 6:00 p.m. even though through that time frame it will not be raining the entire time. this is more or less a nuisance event we'll see on and off

being questioned in connection with a deadly hit-and-run accident in north philadelphia. just before midnight, a police patrol car was following a honda pilot that was speeding down allegheny avenue. the car ran several redlights and hit a man walking across the street at 24th and allegheny. the victim was thrown 30 yards and hit by another vehicle. he was pronounced did he scene. the honda went four more blocks when the driver got out and made a run for it. police have not said if the man they have taken into custody is the driver. two women were hurt in an overnight crash in northeast philadelphia. police say they were traveling south on rising sun avenue near adams avenue around 2:00 a.m. when the driver lost control and ran off the road. the car then hit a utility pole and traffic light before flipping over. one of the women was trapped inside, both were taken to

einstein hospital for treatment. no word on any charges in that crash. an old low-income highrise apartment building that was a germantown eye sore is now gone. pressure reading holding steady. north and west we go temperatures are hanging out in the 50s, 54 in fleetwood. pottstown, 58. saint david 59 and quakertown 58 degrees. closer to the ocean we have temperatures in the mid 70s. glassboro, gandys beach, buena, 64. cinnaminson, 65. smyrna, delaware, 66. storm tracker 6 live double scan we have this batch of moisture moving across the western suburbs moving southwest to northeast. through norristown pushing into lansdale and getting into the lehigh valley. for the most part it is on the lighter side you do see specks of yellow there. that would indicate a somewhat milder quick burst of light rain pushing through. as we go in wired we pan out there's not much with this system it's unorganized and raggedy looking. it's not a big day, it's not a wash, don't cancel the plans.
