you did and hurt others that have done nothing to you? >> reporter: we learned that hit-and-run vehicle was possible rental. once again, police say no one in custody nora rested at this time, walter, reporting live in north philadelphia, kenneth moton, "channel 6 action news." >> all right, kenneth, thank you. pennsylvania governor tom corbett ordered flags across the state lowered to half staff in honor ever the trooper killed in ambush last night. corporal byron dixon was shot during a shift change at the barracks in m blooming grove pike count yes and the other is hospitalized in critical and stable condition. a person of interest is being questioned so far no one was arrested. >> i was called 1:15 to be told what happened from the state police and have been in constant contact with the commissioner telling him whatever he needs

home and they're working to determine how the fire started. >> well teenager from new jersey who was a student at albright college was killed in a fire in reading early this morning. matthew reign from south river was among 7 people inside an off campus home when the fire broke out. four were able to make it out. three were trapped inside. two were rushed to the hospital and rein was pronounced dead at the scene. it was accidental fire that started in the basement. >> well for some it was eye sore. for others it was home. but, today, in just a matter of seconds, the queen lane apartments became a part of philadelphia's past. "action news" reporter annie mccormick has that story. >> first the sound of dynamite then as the building crumbled to the ground cheers came. it lasted 8 second. site of queen lynn apartments is now a pile of rubble. former residents lined up to

offshore. we had light activity across the areas in bucks and montgomery counties and to the north and west of philadelphia and light showers there in burlington county. we'll go in tighter. stormtracker 6 live double scan street-level you notice some activity suffer city to atlantic city and cape may just light activity and sprinkles that are starting to push on off to our north and east. when you look at the precipitation we didn't pick up a whole lot. we saw a half inch to less than a quarter of rainfall across the region. wilmington close to half an inch and .36 in philadelphia and doylestown and atlantic city and not that much moisture to talk about. and so when you look at the temperatures this is the big story and in the wake of moisture that moves through currently in philadelphia, coming in at 66 degrees. but check out these numbers north and west. in chicago, just 5, 63 st. louis and we'll tap into cooler air for the second half of the weekend with taste of fall on the way. details coming up with the accuweather forecast, walter.

jersey from the wall of fame and took down a placard in his honor. >> prince harry took part in a cause close to his heart. he played in the invick tuesday games to honor 400 wounded service members from 13 countries. they played volleyball and wheelchair basketball. these have been a dream of harries. he's been trying to use sports as i way for soldiers to unwind and have fun as they recover. the fight against ovarian cancer brought thousands to fairmont park today. this was 16th annual walk to break the silence on ovarian cancer. this event celebrated survivors and remembers those lost. this year people nearly 240,000 have been donated by people to support research by the national ovarian cancer coalition. >> it's a great day to become a pet parent in bucks county some left with a four legged friend that event hosted by petco. several local shelters brought dogs and cats to the event with hopes of finding them new homes.

continue to push off to the east as we get into the rest of tonight and then clouds will break and clear as we get into the overnight hours. and outside we go. because the action cam was outside earlier this afternoon. we are in manayunk. we are looking at the manayunk tote path which actually parallels the manayunk canal and schuylkill river there. we can see a gloomy start. lots of clouds, midst, drizzle and rain overhead. moisture making temperatures less than average. 79 average. nowhere near the record of 95 setback in 195 2. for the most part we're dealing with northerly wind. if you step out open the town this evening grab an extra layer, light jacket or sweater it's cool in allentown, 62, the poconos 5 along the coast in beach haven 67 and trenton 64 and dover coming in at 66. when you look at the 24 hour temperature change this is big difference in comparison to yesterday. it's a good 10 degrees cooler in
