for a hit-and-run driver that left two young people critically wounded in wilmington. we have the latest on this developing story. >> trauma at the ballpark pitcher jonathan papelbon gets tossed from the game. >> the big story on "action news" is tragedy in the frankford section of philadelphia where gunfire claimed the life of a pregnant woman and her child. shots rang out 1500 block of adams avenue as megan dodo sat outside watching neighbors' children. and tonight we're hearing from the victim's devastated boyfriend and father of the baby. "action news" reporter kenneth moton is live now at police headquarters with the full details. kenneth. and sarah, that distraught father and boyfriend was too up set to speak on camera and his baby held on for the little boy and newborn boy lost too much blood and suffered too much trauma. he learned the news here at police headquarters that his child didn't make it as police continued the search for a

killer. >> with bullet casings all over the frankford block philadelphia police worked a large scene trying to find clues in the murder of a pregnant woman weeks away from giving birth. >> the young girl is about to have a baby and stuff like this happens. it's very bad. she was nice girl. >> neighbors and friends say around 11:00 this morning 6-year-old megan dodo was sitting on the sidewalk near here home adams avenue watching after her neighbor's two small children when shots were fired. a man sitting next to the victim did not want to be identified and he told us she was shot in the face. >> i took my hoodie off and put it open her face to apply pressure and cops showed up and after that the cop made the decision to put her in the car because it was not going to be long it would be too long forts ambulance. >> homicide detectives are getting different accounts at this point but the witness said the gunman was open a nearby street shooting when the innocent by stander was hit.

intersection of a street and few you to son street. the driver slammed into the young people and simply took off. both were rushed to christianne hospital in critical condition. no word on what type of vehicle police are looking for. >> a 50,000 reward is offered for tips leading to arrest of the person that shot and killed a pennsylvania state trooper on friday night. law enforcement officers from three states are scourerring game lands surrounding barracks in blooming grove and pike county serving for the person that killed corporate byron dixon he was shot and killed during a shift change in the barracks and the gunman shot trooper alex douglass who remains hotizeed tonight. >> police charged a man with dui after he struck a state trooper vehicle overnight. it happened 3:00 this morning on the schuylkill expressway at montgomery drive. investigators say two troopers parked their vehicle in the left lane responding to accident when another vehicle slam into their car. the troopers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. three people were hurt overnight in a two car crash on

delaware avenue in old city. just before 2 a.m. a car with three women inside was return turning on to i-95 when that vehicle was hit by another carch the impact sent one of the vehicles into a wall underneath the ben franklin bridge. and the man inside the striking vehicle fled the scene. all three women were taken to the hospital. no word yet on their condition. >> a trip to the amusement park ended with a rescue for some people in new jersey today. several people or several different rides got stuck when power went out six flags great adventure in jackson township leaving thrill seeksers stranded in the area. everybody was safely unloaded though in 20 minutes and nobody was injured. park officials are trying to figure out why the power went out in the first place. >> the counts down is on. and just a few hours the new miss america will be crowned. and the pageant gets underway 9:00. but already the festive 'tis have gun. fall feeling this week. right now it's 65 in allentown and 65 trenton and the poconos 61 degrees and pretty similar numbers at the shore in atlantic city and now the boardwalk at 65 degrees with ocean temperature warmer so if you're down the shore maybe put your feet in the water and feels warmer with the water of 73. and as we look at numbers across the lower 48 fall really taking over from cincinnati, st. louis, to bismarck. right now 60. to find any 80s now in the lower 48 you have to go all the way the gulf sites new orleans to jacksonville where temperatures are mid to upper 80s. it's also fairly queue eight cross much of the can'ty. few clouds to the south and showers original and west. spin north of chicago and low pressure pulls into canada this week and its cold front will arrive late tomorrow night to early tuesday morning. for tomorrow high pressure in control, meaning sunny skies, 75 degrees, temperatures remaining below normal and pleasant start
