or 10 or 15 minutes. malvern downingtown a little closer to the edge of this but roads behind the rain will still remain wet for awhile. wilmington also getting some of this. farther to the north allentown with some heavy cells getting ready to clip the airport up there. looks like saucon valley still getting wet, quakertown starting to pick up some of this, green lane pottstown and again we talked about norristown. wilmington some of that rain will probably push into south jersey, parts of south jersey right along the delaware river already getting it and there's one other cell by dover that could cross over into cape may over the next hour. 62 degrees right now in philadelphia. we are starting out on the cool side again, although not quite as bad as yesterday. 53 in allentown, 68 in sea isle city. as we head out the door to catch the bus look for cloudy skies. some of you might need rain gear with those scattered showers and temps in the low 60's between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. for school bus travelers. the rest of the day looking betterment looks like the rain tapers off later this morning. we start to get more and more sunshine through the afternoon and we get a high of 76 at 3 o'clock. karen, what are the roads

looking like right now and the rails. >> big problem right now with mass transit. amtrak's northeast corridor no service between philadelphia and d.c. do you understand wires causing a problem. all service canceled if you're in philadelphia headed towards d.c. there's a problem right there. let's go outside live. i told you the tacony palmyra bridge is going up. it's up right now. hard to see. it's dark out there. stick to the betsy ross bridge as your alternate that's moving fine at this point. also live in plymouth meeting right now looking at ridge pike eastbound we had an accident, it has since cleared so things moving better right now but as david has been talking about the roads in the process of getting wet right now just in time for the morning commute. construction going on, paving on the boulevard northbound. still happening in the inner drive for about another half hour and that's -- watch for in paving near rhawn. southbound we had a fuel spill but that has since cleared, tam. >> okay, thank you, karen. and we begin this morning with breaking news coming to us from northeast philadelphia where police say a father shot and killed a man who climbed into his daughter's bedroom.

the action cam was on the scene along the 2700 lock of ax factory road. police say a 32-year-old man either broke in or was let in through a rear window. according to police, the father entered the bedroom struggled with the man and then shot him in the head killing him. erin o'hearn will bring us a live update on this breaking story. that's ahead at 6:00 a.m. and developing right now, a teenaged girl remains in the hospital this morning after frightening attack on her way home from school. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live outside of special victims in hunting park. she's got details. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, tam. and it's still very early on in this investigation so police are trying to determine what exactly happened last night. they are conducting interviews with doctors at saint christopher's hospital the victim's parents and that 15-year-old girl who was found unconscious. it's still very early. they're still trying the sort this out. police were called out around 7:45 in northeast philadelphia after a pedestrian spotted this unconscious 15-year-old

girl just off roosevelt boulevard in a wooded area a few feet from the guardrail. the girl still had on her school uniform. she had bruises on her shoulders and legs. she had a bump on the back of her head and she told police she had been on a crowded septa route 14 bus. she stepped off to let other riders exit when the doors closed so the girl started walking down the boulevard when she said a man tried to talk to her. she told police she ignored him and then seconds later she was knocked out from behind. police are still trying to figure out what happened next. >> when she was found, she was unconscious. she was in her school uniform. she was laying in pennypack park about 3 feet from the sidewalk on the other side of the guardrail. so actually on the wooded side of the guardrail. how she got there, that's what we want to find out. >> reporter: and they want to find out what happened in the moments that followed. again, she was found around 7:45. at 7 o'clock her parents had reported her missing but then again, she was spotted about

45 minutes after that and she was taken to saint christopher's hospital in stable condition. we're live at the special victims unit, katherine scott channel6 "action news. >> thank you. we're following a developing story here. a woman was shot three times in philadelphia's port richmond section. a pair of gunmen opened fire on the 24-year-old woman who was sitting on her friend's front porch. police say at least 10 shots were fired on the 3400 block of braddock street at 12:30 this morning. bullets also struck a parked car nearby. no arrests have been made. the it's detectives are interviewing witness who's were sitting with the victim at the time of the shooting. 5:35 now. the trump plaza hotel and casino in atlantic city is closing after 30 years of being in business. the action cam is live outside the trump. the casino sees operations at 6:00 a.m., 25 minutes from now. the hotel closes later today. roughly 1,000 people will be out of a job. 7,000 workers are unemployed after the closures of the showboat, the atlantic club

and the revel, all this year. the trump taj mahal is in financial trouble as well and may close in mid-november. the revel casino, which closed in the beginning of the month, will be auctioned off one week from tomorrow. a bankruptcy court judge approved the date. if no one else comes forward by then revel will go to florida develop are glen straub who has offered $90 million in cash. his plan is to reopen the revel a few weeks later. >> there is now a $75,000 reward offered for the arrest and conviction of the gunman who killed one pennsylvania state trooper and injured another. yesterday investigators release add chilling profile of the person who they say pulled the trigger. state police believe the killer had a grudge against the blooming grove barracks where the attack occurred last friday. and that he is a skilled shooter who carried out a planned ambush with a rifle. corporal bryon dixon was killed and trooper alex douglas is critically wounded. a new jersey teacher faces

sexual assault charges. police say 39-year-old nolan johnson had an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old girl. slaw a student at the hun school in prince son where johnson worked. his lawyers have not commented on these claims. >> the eagles came from behind to win for the second straight week. this time they rallied in indianapolis from a 20 to six deficit in the third quarter. the game tying score was set up by this fumble recovery. darren sproles, the star of the game, scored on a gritty run after that. sproles also had seven catches for 152 yards. each team then scored another touchdown, tied at 27, codey park key says i got this. he hit a game winning field goal to redeem himself for a miss earlier in the game. eagles win 30 to 27. ducis rodgers has more from indy. >> reporter: two games, two wins, neither pretty but the eagles will take it. as for this latest victory go ahead and call them the

beginning to develop across some of our area and some of that includes philadelphia, so be careful of the spray coming up on the windshield. most of the rain not all that steady but every now and then you are going to get caught in a steadier downpour. as we take a look at temperatures, 62 degrees currently in philadelphia. and i'll go ahead and add on that always on seven day on the left hand portion of your screen for those of you watching in hd in case you want to glance ahead. dewpoint 56 and the winds east-southeast at 3 miles per hour. future tracker 6 shows that you as we go through morning there is that chance of sprinkles and showers up through 7:30 and beyond. by the time we get to tension clock most of it is pushing over towards the east of philadelphia and as early as 10 we may see sunshine emerging especially in the western suburbs. in the afternoon we expect to transition to a lot more sun with a few clouds out there. cloudy and damp in the morning but getting better as the day goes on. also getting milder. yesterday we stopped in the low 70's. today we get up to 76 degrees for a high around 3 o'clock. we'll be in the 60's during the morning but 70's basically

during the breath of the afternoon. high temperatures today, 73 in allentown, 74 in reading and trenton. not a big difference really. even down the shore we're getting up to about 74 and 76 in wilmington and philadelphia. for the union tonight, this may be the night that the union hoists its first championship tournament as it is in the u.s. open cup against the sounders. sixty nine degrees for the start, 65 in the 90th minute am i will see you down there. we will all be duping together hopeful allot of it. tomorrow high pressure in control and lots of sun on the way. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, clouds in the morning today, a few showers and then nice later with a high of 76. 75 tomorrow, 76 thursday, 71 on friday. all of these nice days after some cool starts. and then saturday clouds and some drizzle in the morning to sunshine in the afternoon, a high of 75. and the eagles come home to baseball weather. it's going to be 81 degrees at lincoln financial field on sunday afternoon. >> enjoy it while it lasts.

here so bad timing with this. this is delaware county, the blue route at macdade boulevard, it's wet right here and southbound near villanova watch for the overnight paving work, it has since cleared and traffic moving better right there. northeast extension we had some construction here that is clear as well and that's northbound past mid county but construction still blocking two lanes at this point westbound near fort washington. so just look for that as you're headed out. time for your commuter traffic report which you can be a part of when you download the free waze app and we're starting rider here near woolwich township in gloucester county new jersey. this is the new jersey turnpike. this is 295. if we're heading up northbound through both of these areas you're hitting the construction zones on 42 but not affecting you on 295 or the turnpike heading up all the way towards burlington county and not seeing any issues out there at this point on this one just a car stuck on the road on the turnpike near mount laurel but not a big deal. i want to drink in storm tracker 6 live double scan radar. this is your best view of the rain that we have through the area. you can see with our live radar showing ugg right along the i-95 corridor it is moving

personnel to train health workers in west africa and to distribute protection kits to families in the affected areas. the ebola outbreak has killed more than 2400 people since march and it is expected to affect thousands more before it's contained. >> new this morning, the can child abuse allegations against adrian peterson has cost a key team sponsor. the rad son hotel chain temporarily cut ties following the team's decision to clear peterson to plasson. the running back was charged with child abuse last week as he was accused of using a wooden switch on his son. additional claims surfaced yesterday. the mother of peterson's other four-year-old child filed a report with child protective services butter no charges have been filed in that case. >> it's 5:48 and we have new video showing a police officer courageously placing his vehicle in front of a wrong way driver speeding down a texas highway. >> season 19 of "dancing with the stars" is officially under way. find out who took home the night's highest scores.
