change things in that seven day so details coming up. >> okey-dokey, sounds good. thanks karen rogers. little bit drier than yesterday morning which we're appreciating. things look good weather-wise as you head out for your morning ride and the traffic is moving well here along the roosevelt boulevard, route 1. headlights coming northbound approaching broad street with no issues. of course farther north in the northeast we do have the paving work going on in the inyour drive and we're just getting word of a crash on the southbound roosevelt boulevard at grant avenue. you want to watch out for that. also getting word of one in the mayfair section of the city along rowland avenue at sheffield street right by abraham lincoln high school. a one vehicle wreck that took down a pole so there's also a local power outage. instead of rowland maybe stick with frankford avenue as an alternate. on the big picture so far so good on the schuylkill and 95. but right by washington square the action camry mains on the scene of the overnight water main break. seventh completely blocked off on the west side of the square right by the garden.

for your northbound travels this morning maybe stick with fifth or ninth instead of seventh. we'll keep watching that. also in burlington county, had a truck fire overnight on the southbound new jersey turnpike near exit six for the turnpike connector. right lane still blocked there and matt we're hearing it could be blocked for awhile so delays are definitely possible. >> keep us posted. i know you will. thank you matt. developing right now police are crediting twitter users with helping them crackdown a new key clue in a hate crime investigation. and one of those social media sleuths spoke with "action news" overnight. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live at central detectives with details. katherine. >> reporter: that's right, matt, police say social media really has helped in this investigation. two gay men were attacked in center city last week by a group of people and now police are saying that some of the people, some of the attorneys for some of the people in that group have been coordinating with central detectives to come in for questioning. this surveillance video from last thursday night was taken minutes before the center city

attack. around 10:45 p.m. detectives say around 15 people encountered two gay men ages 27 and 28 at 16th and chancellor streets near walnut. one man asked if the men were boyfriends. then came the homophobic slurs. the men were attacked beaten and robbed of a cell phone and wallet. a long time friend of the victims says one of the men needed surgery for severe facial injuries. and his jaw was wired shut. >> the boys are just really happy that there's clear footage and they just keep repeating that they want justice done not just for them but so that it never happens again in philadelphia. >> reporter: and now police are crediting this video and the subsequent social media sleuthing by twitter users like fansy fan since 09 for helping push this investigation forward. >> i just kind of feel like it was the decent thing to do and i would hope that if i didn't do it someone else would do it. >> reporter: fan since 09 explains he was disgusted by the attack and apparently many of his followers were too as he joined in on the effort.

he tweeted the video to thousands of followers and soon retweet antidepressant picture taken of this group at a nearby restaurant. he looked on facebook to see who had checked into the restaurant and soon started clicking on links and matching pictures to the video. he got a twitter shout out from police for his work. >> you had a stream of people on twitter who recognized something was absolutely wrong and disgusting and did something about it. >> reporter: and police say even if you were in the area at the time of the attack but didn't have anything to do with it, police still want to hear from you. call central detectives with tips. we're live at central detectives, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> thank you. new this morning a drive by shooting in north philadelphia left a man in critical but stable condition. police say someone in a silver car fired a shot at the victim who was waiting for the bus. it happened just before midnight along the 2300 block of north 17th street. the bullet struck the victim in the cheek. he was able to run to police for help as the car sped away. >> now to breaking developments in the child

abuse claims against nfl star adrian peterson. just hours ago, the minnesota vikings did a major about face. "action news" reporter erin o'hearn is live in our satellite center. she's got the latest details. good morning, erin. good morning, tam. the team's reverse course comes after a day of public pressure from angry fans and concerned sponsors. the vikings have barred peterson from team activities until his child abuse case is solved. now, peterson was indicted last week in texas on a counter of reckless or negligent injury to a child. the charges stem from a whipping incident that reportedly left bruises on his four-year-old son. now, he was also accused of injuring another one of his four year old sons last year but there were never any charges filed. the stunning reversal comes after several sponsors including anheuser bush criticized the nfl for the scandals involving peterson and ray rice. the move by the vikings have create add firestorm of debate. >> i'm from the south.

then but right now things are looking good there along 95 in bucks county. meanwhile also expect some midday milling and paving in upper moreland montgomery county. they'll close davisville road near terwood. stick with 263 york road or 232 huntington pike as alternates. salem county still patching that sinkhole from the overnight and blocking 45 just north of 49 in the process. fifth street a possible alternate around that. time for the commuter report where things look good for the most part on the northeast extension. have a couple northbound work zones remaining but none of our friends using the waze app are complaining, at least not yet. tam. >> okay, thank you, matt. new this morning, the fbi has arrested a man in upstate new york for aiding isis terror group. mufid elfgeeh bought guns silenter and ammo from an informant. the weapons were part of a planned attack on both u.s. soldiers and muslim. he will gee was born in yemen but is an american citizen.

a top military leader opened the door for the use of ground troops to combat isis. dempsey said military advisors will help iraqs with plansying and logistics but that may not be enough. >> if there are threats to the united states i would go back to the president and make a recommendation there may include the use of u.s. military ground forces. >> president obama has maintained that ground forces will not have a combat mission in iraq. a house vote on the administration's proposals could come later today. >> there are new disturbing claims about what happened during the procedure that ultimately led to joan rivers' death. staffers are telling investigators that the comedian's personal doctor took a selfie in rivers' room at a clinic in manhattan. it happened as the star was under anesthesia awaiting a biopsy. investigators believe rivers' vocal cords began to swell during what investigators call an unauthorized procedure cutting off oxygen to her lungs and leading to cardiac

this case, she jumps off the bus. the bus driver grabs her and throws her up on the tree lawn. >> zborowski saved the little girl but it was too late for her to get out of the way. the bus ran over the 51-year-old and crashed into a tree. police are calling zborowski a hero. pennsylvania lawmakers close to voting on a bill that would ban pigeon shooting in the state. the humane society and other animal rights groups helped get the pigeon shooting ban tacked onto a bill that would outlaw the selling of cats and dogs for food. former game show host bob barker has taken part in tv ad campaign supporting the bill. a recent poll found that 85 percent of pennsylvania voters surveyed support a ban on pigeon shooting. pennsylvania is the only state that allows the practice. the national rifle association on that possess the bill. frappuccino. >> neighbors of the suspect in the killing of a pennsylvania state police corporal share brands new react
