happening today, hundreds of people will come out to pay their final respects to a pennsylvania state trooper who was ambushed and killed. corporal brian dixon was ambushed and killed on the ground of state police barracks during a late night shift change on friday, trooper alex douglass was critically injured. 31 eric frien is the suspected gunman, the member of a military simulation unit and that he shaved his head to prepare for the attack. state police had this message. >> in the event you are listening to this broadcast on a portable radio while cowering in some cool, damp hiding place, i want you to know one thing, eric we're coming for you, it is only a matter of time until we bring you to justice for committing this cowardly act. >> police say frien is armed

and dangerous, but they don't believe the public is in any grave danger. >> police are questioning several people in connection with an attack on two gay people in philadelphia. katherine scott is live to update the case. >> reporter: matt one of the men they are questioning is the assistant basketball coach at archbishop wood in berks county. we blurred his face because police have not named him as a suspect or charged him with a crime. he was the group when ten to 12 people severely beat and robbed two gay men in center city. other people were confessed. ful social media played a role in the information identifying people in the group that's how this picture surfaced taken at a restaurant near the scene. this was a large party of old high school friends. some former students from

archbishop wood in bucks county are suspected in the beating and made it clear the school does not tolerate or condone the violence or hateful behavior in the attack. >> the investigation is in progress, we're cooperation with it, i think we would all be wise to wait the outcome of it. >> reporter: and police say it's important to get a clear picture of what exactly happened that night, that's why they haven't issued any arrest warrants at this time. we're live at central detectives, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> and police in camden are trying to locate a witness to the assault against a 54-year-old homeless person. the woman frequents the area was attacked tuesday morning and sexually assaulted and savagely beaten and remains in the hospital. >> new this morning there's an active serve for an armed man who held up a 7-eleven a location that's been robbed before. the action cam was there on the

1800 block of stenton street in philadelphia's olney section. two employees were working at the time they were not hurt. >> happening today, philadelphia city council holds a final vote on a bill that would decriminalize possession of a small amount of marijuana. the new ordinance would mean people caught with a little less than an ounce of marijuana will no longer be arrested. they would be find fined $25. house rules committee vote the in favor of a bill that would add a two dollar tax to every pack of cigarettes sold in philadelphia. house republicans will not take a vote on the measure until the state senate returns to

flooding millions of people from and california to texas could see several inches of rain today. here's more. >> reporter: month's worth of rain could fall in hours as the remnants of hurricane odiel move through the southwest. the rain has already started falling. odiel is expected to cause historic flooding in the region. less than two feet of water can move a vehicle. >> it's very deceiving because it can be passable and 30 seconds later, the wallful fer of water can be coming down, and depending on when you enter the area you might get caught at the wrong time. >> reporter: last week severe flooding wreaked havoc and led to dozens of water rescues. >> we're building and then we're going to run it along the straight line. >> when i heard there was more rain coming in i panicked.
