when they hit something. the collision tossed the men around in the boat one managed to call 911. police took them to the torresdale hospital where there's no word on their conditions. the boat has a large gash, but no word on what they hit. the a spca is taking steps to stop a deadly outbreak of a highly contagious virus. parvo virus has been infecting dogs in central new jersey. today free vaccinations are being offered to stop the virus in its tracks. >> we consider it a large outbreak. it does happen in urban areas. >> reporter: the nonprofit people for animals is organizing a free parvo vaccination for resident in the western trenton area after dozens of dogs died from the illness. >> it's most often fatal to the

dogs. it affects their intestinal track. >> reporter: symptoms, vomiting fever, lack of appetite, dehydration and diarrhea. the reason it's so highly contagious. >> it's not easy to pick up, not easy to clean up, so animals are stepping in it, and that's how it's transmitted. >> reporter: parvo can be transmitted with anything that comes into contact. even an innocent walk through grass can transfer it to paws or hair. >> all dogs are affected. >> reporter: dog owners with sick animals have been contacting the shelter as a last resort because it costs thousands of dollars to treat the dog at an animal hospital. >> we end up having to

>> new overnight police are trying to determine if robbery was the motive behind a double shooting. the action cam was at the scene the 7100 block of north 19 street in philadelphia's west oak lane section. this is where police found a wounded man lying in the street around 10:50 around the corner on the 1900 block of plymouth street officers found a second victim. the first man is in criflt --

critical condition. there were no arrests. police say this woman stole money from a charity donation box. this happened at the crystal vision mayfair. not only is the money missing, but the suspect may have had a child with her. employees couldn't believe what they were seeing. >> you seep the young lady takes the box and asks for the key to the bathroom and she goes to the bathroom and empties the box and discards the box in the bathroom. we enjoy helping others, we think she should return the money. >> the store thinks there was several hundred dollars inside the box, they use the money for donations for kids for summer camp and gifts for the elderly for christmas. a man was hit at summerdale

and stone gate road in gloucester county. police were in the intersection when he was thrown several yards down the road. the man is in cooper university hospital with a number of serious injuries. the driver stopped at the scene. the investigation continues. new at 9:00 a.m., police in louisville, kentucky nabbed a man who they say carried out several carjackings, the arrest was cap you are it had by the news chopper. none of the carjackers victims were injured, two managed to escape and call police, that led to the suspect's capture.

it got swamped in the low-lying section of the city. a violent hail storm inundated florence, italy. so much hail fell from the sky it covered the streets. farmers are reporting expensive damage to crops. in our, area, though, calm this weekend. >> reporter: it was calm last week, it's going to be calm next week, next weekend looks calm. we're loving life right now, right? let's go live on sky 6. it's a nice, comfortable pattern, a quiet pattern we are settling into. it will by quiet days to the delaware valley. we're seeing a mixture of sun and clouds, comfortable temperatures and low humidity levels, 64 in philadelphia. some locations are cooler, but, again, these numbers are close to where they should be for this time of year. allentown, 62. trenton, 63.

wilmington, 67. dover, 72. sea isle city, 71. the high down the shore will come within the next hour or two, and our winds because they are strengthening out of the east will allow the temperatures to fall back into the upper 60s and low 70s. most locations are 3 to 7 degrees milder than yesterday at this time. which means we'll finish 7 to 3 degrees milder this afternoon for the forecasted high than yesterday. the frontal system that we're watching is cutting slew the eastern has the -- cutting through the eastern half of the great lake states. you can see showers an thunderstorms embedded in this. this front is uneventful. we'll flip it over to the wind bar. the front lies where the wind converge. the front is sitting right there. where the air converges, it rises and that's where you get the showers and thunderstorms.

but these winds actually drop the temperatures off, as well. once the winds shift out of the northwest we start to pick up the cooler numbers. 52 in bismarck. 70 in des moines. there's a large temperature contrast within this front. we have a reinforcing front that's making its way toward the u.s./canadian border. that will swing through the great lakes and the mid atlantic over the next 24 hours. both will do a number on our temperatures. we're in the mid 80s tomorrow afternoon and we'll struggle to get to the 70s monday afternoon. this is 8:00 a.m. in the evening after the eagles game, hit or miss showers and rumbles of thunder developing in this batch of moisture that's approaching in the cold front. there's not much activity in it the reason for that, substance this dry air on the the backside of this.

this is dry air on the backside or sinking air. as that front is approaching we'll get into this zone of dry air tomorrow. as that front approaches it will limit how much moisture it has available to drop on the delaware valley. we could see a hit or miss shower, but that's about it. for the most part it will swing through dry. 79 degrees is the forecasted high, winds are light out of the southeast at 5 to 15 miles per hour. overnight tonight, 58 degrees in the outlying suburbs, 65 for center city. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, a real muggy one coming up tomorrow, 84 degrees, this 79 is comfortable today. 84 tomorrow that's sticky. mostly sunny skies, eagles taking on the redskins, other than the humidity no weather issues out there. 84 degrees by the 4th quarter. it will be the warmest temperatures we've seen in two

weeks. 74 monday, tuesday, sunny and pleasant, cool, 73. wednesday, 72. thursday, 73 and friday, sunny and milder with a high of 77 degrees. the funny thing is, we haven't seen 80 in quite sometime. we'll hit it come tomorrow and you'll see the stretch of 70s next week. if the modeling is correct, temperatures could be 85, 86. >> we're in swelters today tomorrow -- we're in sweaters today, next week we have the shorts. >> on "shelter me rescue of the week" we're in bucks county pennsylvania where a horse farm opens it's doors to allance in to all animals in need. >> reporter: this is a sanctuary for rescued horses and cats, as well. >> we take them in and give them whatever rehabilitation they need.

vet care and nurse them along until they can find that forever home. >> reporter: horses success story include vision who was set to be euthanized and noble an injured racehorse rehabbed and used to train riders. since they started in 2006 they have saved more than 30 horses and 600 cats and kittens. currently they have lila and lacey being prepped for adoption. >> they came from a backyard situation that was deplorable. >> reporter: thanks to royce's rescue they gained 100 pounds and will begin training. the rescue has 30 cats including fiona. she is a healthy weight and ready to snuggle.
