good afternoon in the news this noon, the newly crown miss america is addressing rumors of hazing. we'll address those accusations. and the man accused of killing a pennsylvania state trooper in the poconos, the latest. and president obama has made his case for air strikes against isis militants in syria. a coalition targeted isis headquarters in syria last night. obama says the joint fight against isis, also known as isol is vital to the united states, the mideast and the world. obama says the participation of saudi arabia, and qatar is not

grief counselors were on hand at her high school to help her classmates come to terms with her loss. david henry is live now outside of the charter school in olney with more. >> police say they are making significant progress with their investigation, in the meantime the school community here at the delaware valley charter high school is dealing with a devastating loss. >> unbelievable able. devastating. >> students and faculty returned under the watchful eye of a heavy police presence. students cried and hugged each other, stunned by the sudden loss. this is eyesha's locker, decorated with posters and flowers. the 15-year-old was walking home with a friend when she was shot in the back with a stray bullet. police say that an unruly crowd

was gathering here at the depot. when they arrived near einstein hospital, eyesha was killed and a 19-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition with three bullet wounds. they say that eyesha was a popular student that made friends easily. >> played basketball and had a beautiful smile, a smile that lit up the hallway, she was a great student and academically also. it's a terrible loss to us. >> security is a priority at the school since an incidencident l january. a student bought a gun to school and shot two other students by accident. grief counselors are available to the students and many are taking advantage. including two faculty members. >> i just saw her yesterday and can't come to grips with it,

late. >> joe's wait was nowheres near his destination. a tractor trailer crashed near bridge street and delays lasted for hours and gridlock in neighborhoods like here in wissinoming. >> it took two hours to take my son to school, two blocks. >> she told me to take the bus because of all the traffic. >> police say that the tractor trailer was traveling southbound in the left lane and lost control and veered into the guardrail, crushing that and taking out this sign instructing no trucks in the left lane. it hit a minivan but there was only minor damage. the fuel tank ruptured 75 gallons of fuel spilled. after 6:00 a.m., the tractor

trailer was pulled upright but the cleanup process was extensive. a front end loader picked up debris that littered the roadway. even after the trash was huh, there was work to do like fixing this guardrail. the driver was taken to hahnemann university, he had lacerations to his arm and other injuries but was in stable condition. katherine scott, channel 6 "action news." a second tractor trailer overturned and caused problems for the morning commute this morning, chopper 6 hd was over this crash over the southbound lanes of the northeast extension in milford township bucks county. police say that the big rig overturned and blocked the right lane and shoulder and the truck lost its load of pretzels and they fell all over the road. crews worked to clear this wreckage, no word on injuries. turning to the weather now, it's the first full day of autumn and it sure felt that way out the door this morning.

a massive fire on a dock threatened warehouses after it burned in the port of los angeles last night. the building is used for loading and unloading ships to store steel. there is no word on what may have sparked this huge blaze. a north carolina mother is behind bars accused of shoplifting and then running

from the store leaving her kids behind. the manager at a dollar general told police that 20-year-old arianna burnett left the store with what appeared to be an empty purse. the manager says when she tried to leave the store, her purse was stuffed, she ran off leaving the children behind. she is now charged with misdemeanor child abuse. the driver of a bus in los angeles was attacked by a 64-year-old woman and tried to call for help but the attacker kept scratching her and passerbys tried to intervene and then dragged her off the bus and she was later arrested. back here mourning the deaths of two of her own, they were killed in a violent crash while off duty. purple and black bunting hangs outside of the company, jake long and josh stellous were

killed, he was driving when he pulled out in front of a tractor trailer in salisbury township, lancaster county, both vehicles burst into flames. a third man all died. a fourth person and a firefighter survived. the driver of the big rig was not hurt. a firefighter was one of four people injured when a fast moving fire damaged a home in hunting park monday night. this is what is left of a home here on 3800 block of ninth street. fire officials believe the blaze started behind a couch and spread to nearby furniture, the firefighters tried to put out the flames themselves, relatives say it could have ended much worse. >> people have smoke detectors in their homes and now how to get out of the fire, don't grab anything just get out of your house. the most important thing is your life, nothing else matters. >> the firefighter was treat ford an ankle injury and three

well, a weekend full of non-stop rain left new mexico with flooding and residents out of their homes. water is slowly receding, and warning folks to stay on alert. people living in 100 homes were asked to leave voluntarilily monday night. david murphy is here with the accuweather forecast. a little brisk out there today. >> a little, but the winds are down. stormtracker 6 live double scan shows us we are dry this noon, that is always nice, as we take a look outside, down the shore you'll find a few more clouds, you'll see a shadow forming in the buildings there. it's thicker farther south you go in the region. the temperature now is 65 degrees in philadelphia and your dew point is 41 and the air is

nice and dry and the winds are calm right now in philadelphia. we are not expecting them to go out of the single digit today. 63 in trenton and 63 in allentown and they are all fairly cool numbers, most of us started in the 40s before dawn this morning. there is that cloud cover, swinging off the coast. swinging to the south, not everybody is seeing the clouds in philadelphia, just a few high clouds around and a fair amount of sunshine in store for you right now. in allentown you are farther away and 73 there and the shore a clouds and sun mix and a high of 68 degrees, cool and cooler than yesterday. and in philadelphia a high of 71, sun mixing with some high clouds and cool again just like yesterday and only the winds are lighter that is nice. 59 is the overnight low and some are get in the 40s.

maybe not quite as chilly as this morning. for the evening commute, sun mixing with occasional clouds and 68 by friday and by 7:00 we are back down into the 60s. tomorrow, that system to the south gets closer, we see the clouds get thicker. there is the possibility of light sprinkles, down the shore, you go later into the nighttime area, especially in south jersey and delaware. the latest run of future tracker 6, bringing some of this into philadelphia and the northern suburbs. for the early part of the morning commute, these models are consistent and calling for 1 to 2 inches of rain, and that is where it will happen, and by noon or so, it's possible that it's possibility to dry down and some sprinkles and showers.

graham. matthew was spotted on surveillance video following graham the night she disappeared. test results are not back yet from items taken from friday's search and they hope to get matthews in custody on a reckless driving charge and want to talk to him about graham who has not been seen since september 17th. i notice a fox begin to go after a student and i said oh, no that is not going to happen so i grabbed it. without hesitation, alyssa jumped into action when the foxcate out near her school, and pulled the fox from a 7-year-old student holding it down yelling for other students to run into the building. the boy's father was thankful for her actions. >> i cannot say enough great things about her and the other staff that was there.

wilmington and probably holding in the 60s for some spots farther south closer to the cooler ocean. 70 by 3:00 and 70 by 5:00 sandwiched right in between and down to 65 and 60 by 9:00, you can see how the numbers fall quickly again and overnight we get down to 55 and better than yesterday but still on the cool side. here is the low pressure center forming to the south, pulling off the coast and pulling to the east-northeast. and close enough to bring us rain. just look for the clouds to increase. i'll start future tracker at 6:00 a.m. when i am on the air with karen rogers looking at all of this. some sun and the clouds overtake us at dawn and 3:00, we are looking at sprinkles and showers moving in down the shore and 11:00 tomorrow night, maybe some steady downpours here or there.

thursday morning most of the latest runs, the model suggests that for the early part of rush hour today we are looking at the potential for inundating rain and ponding and puddling for thursday morning's commute and by thursday afternoon things get better. here are projections on several of our commonly used models. some of these push 2 inches or more and others closer to an inch, but either way that is a lot more rain than we have had for a while. so long summer, autumn officially arrived. the high was 96 and only having two heat waves after having four the year before. a quick look at your seven day, 71 today and 75 tomorrow with clouds on the increase and then the rain arrives tomorrow night and 66 and cloudy and damp with rain at times especially on thursday, and we bounce back on friday and we are looking at the low 80s on the weekend.
