thieves hit three high end car dealerships in california and drove away with 22 cars. surveillance cameras captured the suspects in san jose, the thieves broke into mercedes zoips and went for the key cabinets and drove off. the keys were stolen in one weekend and police believe the thief his this planned for a long time. >> crews have doubled containment now for a wild fire threatening homes in southern california. then bracing for high heat and erratic winds that could subdue their progress. it's burned through nearly 140 square miles so far, the fire is threatening 12,000 homes and has forced more than 2,000 people to evacuate. >> a look now at today's closing

this is just the edge of clouds that eventually will turn thicker and rain will deposit out of that cloud cover and some of that rain is off the carolinas now as low pressure is developing just to the east of florida. this will not be tropical in nature as it pushes up the eastern seaboard and will be a relatively weak low, despite that, we'll have winds off the water here come wednesday night into thursday. a good shrug of rain arrives and high cloud cover around and filtered sunshine and clouded thicken up in the afternoon and by 6:00 the rain arrives south and east of philadelphia, this is future tracker at 6:00 and overspreads the region and we see the heaviest rain, a good area of widespread and for the morning rush hour, lingering rain north of philadelphia, beginning to dry down to the south and pulling to the eastern

world. seconds later both a truck and car approached the intersection, and at first there was no sign of what would happen but you saw it there, you realize that neither vehicle is going stop and the carver missed the cyclist by inches as it tries to avoid hitting that truck and that is only the first part of the man's great escape, the force of the escape lifted on two wheels narrowly avoiding the cyclist again, he was knocked down by the impact but got up to check on the drivers. just incredible. now the big talkers, five football players, pro players have been sidelined by abuse allegations and other players are on the field. hope solo was arrested in june for allegedly attacking her sister-in-law and her nephew.

meals. now to a question that is captivating the worldwide web today and for good reason. take a look. is there a hippo hiding in the chicago river, that is the wild claim being investigated by internet sleuths, after this video, blurry, went viral. the clip was uploaded a week ago today. it shows something very large bobbing up and down before abruptly cutting out. though chris and his friend appear convinced it's a hippo, others are not so sure. after being flooded by phone calls, the chicago police department released a statement. saying there is no confirmed reports of wild animals roaming the streets or rivers of chicago but if it was a hippo they got quite a sight. >> so the hippo is the new

breaking news right now. in live over the scene of the 100 block of richfield road shortly before 4:30, a fire broke out in that and fire crews are on the ground. one person was injured and treated at the scene. that person is expected to be okay. no word on the extend of their injuries and no word yet on the cause for this fire in upper darby. now, we turn our attention to the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. and the bump in the road you mentioned. midweek, wednesday evening the rain pulls in and lingers and then we'll clear everything out for the weekend. perfect timing, as we look live at double scan live, high clouds this afternoon season double scan will be on the job like it is every day, and more so come

raw fall-like rain event. 1 to 2 inchs of rain, not much flooding in the streams and rivers and streets, it's been very dry, this is welcomed rain coming in on wednesday evening and in fact by 7:00 you see the showers moving up towards i-95, there is the rain wednesday night, for the rush hour at 7:00, still ponding on the roadways for the commute and it breaks up and pulls out at 4:00 for the drizzle and showers for the evening rush hour, here is what to expect on the i-95 metro area, all points north and west. winds gusting 30 to 35 miles per hour. the soaking rain for the morning rush hour, gusts of 40 to 45 miles per hour out of the east, that creates minor tidal flooding now wednesday night into thursday.

sara bloomquist is live with the latest. >> reporter: monica and rick, this investigation into the attack on the gay couple is going on for close to two weeks now, the district attorney's office approved arrest warrants for two men and one woman, all three are expected to surrender sometime tomorrow. they approved arrest warrants for these three, in connection on the attack. 26-year-old kevin harrigan, they will be charged with aggravated assault and related offenses. police say that the three were with a group of 10 to 12 friends in the 1600 block of chancellor street, that group was captured by surveillance camera as they made their way around town. the victims a 26-year-old man and a
