>> good morning, it is 6:00 a.m. on this saturday, september 27. here's some of the stories we're following on "action news." philadelphia police investigate after a mother is killed and a child hospitalized after both are hit by a septa bus. a major drug bust nets dozens of arrests in a violent delaware county community. former president clinton and his wife are grandparents. we have details on daughter chelsea giving birth. first, chris sowers joins us with the accuweather forecast, it's the first weekend of fall, but feels like summer. >> reporter: let's go live on sky 6. a george -- gorgeous weekend shaping up for the lehigh valley. we'll see sunshine and warm temperatures slides in.

76. we have another coastal storm developed i'll show you that in the seven-day forecast when i come back in just a bit. >> an investigation continues this morning into a deadly crash involving a septa bus. a mother and child were crossing the street and a young mother was killed. >> reporter: it's the type of tragedy that no young child should seeing a parent die. a 29-year-old mother was walking with her 8-year-old son when the two tried to cross the street at 15th and washington in south philadelphia. as septa bus was making a left turn on to washington when the investigators say the mom and son got in the path of the bulls. >> the bus was in motion, i suspect based on what i understand they knew the bus was in motion and they tried to outrun the bus as it was making the turn.

>> reporter: the mother fell under the front tire and became entangled under the bus, the boy was struck, but expected to be okay. but his mother's injury injuries were too severe and she died at the scene. the boy stayed at his mom's side and try to to save her life. >> this little boy watched this happen to his mother and tried render said to her and when police arrived he was sitting with her. >> reporter: philadelphia police department and septa are conducting an internal investigation they are interviewing the bus driver. no passengers were on the bus at the time of the accident. there was a third person who was attempted to cross the street with this mom and son, they are speaking with him. as for the 8-year-old he is recovering at chop. in south philadelphia, sharrie

williams channel 6 "action news." >> new this morning, gunfire on a street in the strawberry mansion section of philadelphia has left one man dead. the action cam was on the scene after 1:00. the 2900 block of west oakdale street. this is where someone shot a 39-year-old man in the head. the victim was pronounced at temple hospital. police have not made any arrests. no word at this hour for a motive on the the shooting. >> 61-year-old man is fighting for his life after a shooting in the juniata park section on the 1500 block of east luzerne street. police have no suspects for motives in that shooting. >> police are looking for a person who led police on a chase in kensington. the suspect bailed from the car and tried to fake out officers by walking counts street talking on his cell phone.

close to 50 people prayed and marched for aisha abdur-rahman last night in the logan section the 15-year-old delaware valley charter student killed by a stray bullet on monday. yesterday police announce the the arrest of gibson the star football player from father drug was accused of directing darian person to shoot at that location. at the vigil the community members prayed for the family and called for an end to gun violence. >> our hearts go out to the family of aisha abdur-rahman and all those in the philadelphia area who have lost young people. >> gibson has been charged as an adult for murder and conspiracy. 30 drug dealers are off the streets of chester and the city will help to keep them off possibly for life.

square miles in the sierra nevadas. it scorched several houses and threatens water supplied to the parts of california. officials say an arsonist started it september 13. it doesn't help that they were in a drought and neededded rain. >> reporter: that coastal system came out of nowhere and it produced a good one to two inches of rain. it was the good rain that rained over a 12 hour span instead of a 20 minute span. let's go live on sky 6. we don't have any rain in the forecast this weekend. but there's another coastal system that could developing monday night into tuesday. that may bring more rain to the region. so we're not completely clear over the next several days. the weekend looks good, but there are changes out there. that's the view in atlantic city, all is quiet on a saturday morning. 53 in -- 60 degrees in

philadelphia. dewpoint, 53. 48 in allentown. trenton, 53. 60 is the number in atlantic city and sea isle city. satellite and radar, not too much going on, we have high pressure sliding across the great lake states that will plant over the mid atlantic this afternoon. that will set up a nice day today and another nice day sunday. we see changes in the next couple of days starting to develop across the gulf coast states. what happened a frontal system pushed through last week. it stalled off the coast and stretches all the way down across the panhandle and the gulf coast states. another area of low pressure develops along the front. the moldses take it up the eastern seaboard how close it comes to the delaware valley is up in the air. there also the possibility that we could see rain next week.

in the meantime, surface maps looks like this. high pressure that's the goodbye, sunshine and warm temperatures this afternoon same thing for sunday. monday, the cold front gets closer, there's a nice slug of cool air behind this frontal system. along with that, comes the coastal system from the south. that will increase the clouds and that bring a little bit of wet weather into the area monday night into tuesday. this is monday, 7:00 a.m., you can see the clouds are overspreading the area from south to north. what we think will happen, most of monday looks dry at this point. if the storm comes close enough, monday night into tuesday morning, is when we start to see the moisture come in off the ocean. right now it's a little bit too far out there to say how the system will pan out or how much rain we'll see. keep that in the back of your mind there could wet weather tuesday into wednesday. for dover, the sprint cup series continues this weekend. sunny and gorgeous, 79 degrees, mostly sunny for sunday,

team crashes kills four people. mother nature is providing picture-perfect weather for our first weekend of fall. chris sowers is here for the look at the accuweather forecast. nobody is complaining. >> reporter: i'm complaining, not because it's warm, i'm not sure what i am going to do, i sit on the couch i watch college football on saturday and pro football on sunday. >> put the tv outside. >> reporter: i'll put it on the balcony. live on sky 6. kill two birds with one stone, right? there's the view in atlantic city, a gorgeous morning, temperatures in the 50s and 60s. no humidity, it's just another nice morning around the delaware valley. 55 degrees right now in trenton. 60 in philadelphia. 56 in wilmington. a little bit cooler north and west, but even this isn't too bad. reading, 51, lancaster, 52 and 60 in sea isle city.

satellite and radar, high pressure in control that means no clouds, that means warm conditions and comfortable humidity leaves. accuweather says mostly sunny skies, actually we'll call it completely sunny. hardly a cloudy out there, warmer. yesterday we had a high of 78 degrees, most location also in the mid 70s. today we're up to 82. normally we should be around 73. we're almost ten degrees above average. it gets warmer as we head into sunday. the clouds increase next week and maybe rain by tuesday, i'll have the details in the seven-day forecast in just a bit, eva? >> a young boy is in the hospital, his mother is dead, both were hit by a septa bus in south philadelphia. the initial investigation indicates they are victims of a tragic accident. the mother and son were crossing 15th and washington outside the crosswalk. they apparently tried to outrun the septa bus, the mother was

hit and her son cared for her until medics arrived. no passengers were on the bus. a 73-year-old grandfather picked up his grandson from football practice, but never made it home alive. hit-and-run suv t-boned his car in east mount airy. the suv driver and passenger took off leaving the grandfather dead. s 1-year-old grandson was hurt, but expected to survive. police caught the suv driver and passenger nearby. police suspect they used drugs or alcohol before the crash. there's been a second arrest in the killing of a 15-year-old student who was an innocent by standard. one man was charged with murder. police arrested a 17-year-old boy yesterday who happens to be a star high school football player. dann cuellar has the details. >> we need nor -- your direction. we can't do this without you.

you can see the winds moving in a clockwise fashion. him as long as the high is to your our west we'll pick up northerly breezes. that means dry dewpoints. that high will set over top of us all weekend long. high temperatures, warm, temperatures in the low 80s. lots of sunshine out there. tomorrow, a few degrees warmer than what we'll see today. 82 degrees this afternoon or 83 or 84 as we head into sunday. monday, the squeeze play is on, cold front starts to approach from the north, at the same time we get an area of low pressure that's firing up across the carolinas the two converge over the mid atlantic. we'll start out with maybe a little bit of sun. the clouds quickly increase and the cool shot gets in here tuesday and wednesday. the question is how much moisture do we see from the coastal system. the forecast moldses are up in arms with. some of them take this low this particular model has it across

look out for some of the hurricanes. this was expected to be a quiet season. last year was expected to be a quiet season, which it was. this season was quieter. we were expecting ten tropical storms, but up to this point we've seen five. out of the five have been hurricanes, none have been close major hurricanes which is category 3 or higher. we continue to see a lot of sheering or winds blowing in opposite directions which tend to rip storms apart. as we look into the gulf and the carribean, we have a frontal system that is stalled out right here. what's going to happen, we'll see an area of low pressure. every now and then you get a burst of convection of thunderstorm activity. we're not seeing any areas of low pressure just yet. south an east there's no much going on. this should be a very busy time of the year in the topics. it is very, very quiet.
