we show you the view in old city. you can see the sun shining down on it is trees and the buildings. it's a gorgeous afternoon. one of the wonderful things about the warm stretch of weather we've been seeing there's not much in the way of humidity. it's very comfortable and enjoyable. 77 in trenton, philadelphia, 78. allen be town, 75. same number for the poconos. philadelphia, 77 and reading 76. satellite and radar composite shows a little bit of high, thin clouds over the delaware valley as i speak. this is the thicker malice of clouds that -- mass of clouds that moves in overnight. this will set up a gray monday. citizens bank park 1:35, the phillies taking on the braves for fan appreciation day, sun and warm. 82 degrees for the first pitch, by the 9th ag, 84 degrees.

we have a nice stretch of weather coming i'll talk about that in just a bit. >> investigators are trying to figure out who set two suspicious fires inside a philadelphia apartment complex. the fire left residents trapped on their balconies with no way to escape until firefighters arrived. amy buckman is live with the latest. >> reporter: good afternoon, nydia we are here outside the chestnut apartments. numerous restoration crews are here trying to clean up smoke and water damage after the suspicious fire forced residents from their homes overnight and sent two to the hospital. fire alarms awakened residence around 2:30, flames in the first floor and third floor hallways trapped many in their apartments. a 56-year-old man was taken to temple hospital with burns and smoke. and 56-year-old woman was taken

to einstein with smoke. both are expected to survive, but it was a harrowing wake-up call. >> the alarm went off, the hallway was dark and filled with smoke. firefighters had to rescue tiffany smith and her children climb down the ladder from her third floor apartment. >> i woke up, i got up off from work, i settled in, there was flames coming through the bottom of the door, i had to rescue the children and grab shoes and things like that it was chaosic. firefighters were on the scene in five minutes within getting their first call. the investigation continues as the cause appears suspicious. >> there was a strong odor of gasoline and plus there were two separate fires one on the first floor and one on the third floor indicates it's suspicious in nature. >> reporter: residents say there was a car fire outside the buildings in the past two weeks.

red cross is on the scene to help displaced residents whose apartments sustained smoke and water damage. all have places to go until their apartments are cleaned up. now, overnight the fire public information officer said that police were interviewing a suspect in connection with the fire, however i spoke with northwest detectives, they said their investigation is continuing, but they do not have a suspect at this time. live in east mount airy, amy buckman channel 6 "action news." >> a septa regional rail train has hit and killed a peddle in the olney section of philadelphia. the action cam was at the scene just south of the fern rock station near the 900 block of olney avenue. police say a man in his 60s was walking along the tracks before 10:00 when the train hit him him he was pronounced at einstein medical center. the 70 persons on the train heading to philadelphia international airport were transferred to a bus, rail service is back to normal, but

there are still some delays. a shooting? north philadelphia seriously hurt one man and sent three others to the hospital this morning. the gunfire broke out along the 2800 block of hope street. one man was shot in the back, three others in the legs. all three victims showed up at the hospital in a private car. the man shot in the back is in serious condition the three others are stable. no arrests have been made. the action cam was in bucks county this morning as tow crews uprighted an overturned car. police say three people were inside when the vehicle rolled over on interstate i-95 in middletown. firefighters had to rescue one person trapped inside. the other two people in the car got out on their own. all three had to be checked out at the hospital. there's no word on what caused the driver to lose control. >> the 8-year-old daughter of a city councilman in newark, delaware remains in critical conditional after the family's pet pitbull attacked her. the action cam was outside the home. the dog attacked the girl

yesterday afternoon in the basement of the family home. the victim's 15-year-old sister beat the dog to get it off the young girl and put pressure on her sister's wounds. >> that's very heroic you know to step in and put yourself in harm's way to protect someone you love. >> the teen called 911 while she continued to protect her str from str -- sister from the dog. police officers arrived and shot and killed the dog. surgeons are trying to save her arm. the search for the man accused of killing a pennsylvania state trooper and wounding another is in its third week. eric frein is on the loose in a heavily wooded section of pennsylvania near his family's home. he is wanted for the ambush on

seven survivors off the mountain. 250 hikers were trapped on the slopes. many of the injured are staying say mountain side lodge waiting for rescue units to reach them. there's more tension in ferguson, missouri after a police officer was shot. ment officer was hit in the arm by two suspects following a foot chase. an intense search is underway for the suspects. ferguson has been the scene of unrest since a white police officer shot and killed michael brown an unarmed black teenager on august 89. >> roger goodell met with representatives from the national domestic hot line this weekend. the visit comes amidst criticism of the envelope was a handling of the recent abuse cases in the league. ceo said goodell was moved to tears when told what women encounter. the coast guard said life
