near atlantic city and just south of bellmawr. earn you're dry. lots of cloud cover and a sprinkle could be here or there. let's take a look at these temperature. 58 degrees right now quakertown, 62 in pottstown, 59 in saint davids, 63 in center city. not feeling too bad out there this morning. 61 in browns mills and hammonton and 61 degrees in dover, delaware as you head out the door early on. let's look at this day and how it's going to unfold. we'll see lots of clouds today, a couple peaks of sunshine so mostly cloudy skies today with the possibility of a bit of drizzle or a shower at any point. by 9:00 a.m., 67. by noon, 70. by 3:00 p.m., we're at our high, 73. temperatures right about where they should be and by 6:00 p.m., 70 degrees coming down from our high. we're going to watch for a shower at any point but notate plea wet -- not terribly wet. details in the seven-day forecast. >> from unsettled skies to an unsettling situation on 95

again this morning because it's the same situation that we saw early yesterday morning that led to huge delays. it's the paving work here in delco on the southbound lanes of 95 between the blue route and the commodore barry bridge. just the left lane is getting by this morning. yesterday it was just the right lane but with the two lanes blocked, we do expect delays as you come down from the airport again this morning and head toward the delaware state line. hopefully they can get the construction work out of there soon. meanwhile looking good so far this morning on the blue route and the schuylkill and no delays on 95 through the great northeast but there was a motorcycle crash overnight in lindenwold along the white horse pike route 30 the right lane blocked eastbound and white horse avenue also shut down. i'd stick with atlantic avenue or gibbsboro road instead. there was a fire in atco overnight. under control now along jackson road near atco avenue. the one in atlantic city is not under control yet. it's along atlantic avenue near pennsylvania avenue. maybe stick with pacific and north carolina avenues instead and matt i know you have more details on what's going on

there in ac. >> that is our breaking news story, matt. a huge fire broke out in atlantic city damaging several buildings near the boardwalk. let's get to it right now. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live near the fire scene with what is happening. katherine. >> reporter: matt we're just a few blocks from the shore line and the wind is just really can kicking up. it's caused a problem for firefighters all night as they have been trying to get this fire out and you can see that they're still battling flames on top of this building here on atlantic avenue. this stretch of atlantic is still closed as fire crews have been battling these flames. the good news is, though, everyone was able to get out safely, but there is a whole lot of damage here. the fire broke out just after 10 o'clock on the 1100 block of atlantic avenue. you could see fierce flames pouring from the windows. firefighters were on the scene in two minutes and when they arrived around 10 people had already gotten out. no one was trapped inside. officials say the fire started in the front of a business

called ac alterations and it spread quickly tearing through nearby businesses and the upstairs apartments. it affected four buildings. 17 people are now being assisted by the red cross, six of them children. firefighters established a collapse zone. indeed there were multiple collapses as crews battled these flames. >> four fire buildings right now. we have a collapse in 1112, we have second floor collapse on 1112, second floor collapse 1114 and 1118 the rear wall is about ready to go in the rear. >> reporter: and back here live on atlantic avenue you can see there's a lot of damage here. the storefronts are all broken out, there's debris on the sidewalk. we can still see flames coming out the top of the building. firefighters are overhead. they are blasting water at this from several different angles in the attempt to he can ting wish -- exting wish

the flames. the winds has been pulling the flames all night long. there's still work to be done here. right on cue my umbrella flew out. you can see the very strong winds here. crews still at work and we'll remain on the scene and bring updates as we get them. live in atlantic city, katherine scott channel6 "action news." >> thanks so much. for the second time in about three weeks pennsylvania state police troopers are mourning the death of one of their own. this time the trooper is the victim of an apparent accidental shooting. trooper david kedra's family walked behind his coffin last night as it left temple university hospital. an honor guard of police motorcycles then escorted the hearse. yesterday afternoon an instructor shot the 26-year-old by accident during a training session at the mo montgomery county public training facility in plymouth township. the instructor's name has not been released. there's been a break in the search for eric frein in the form of two pipe bombs. pennsylvania state police recovered the working

explosives with a pile of discarded items. hundreds of law enforcement officers are still frein's trail in monroe and pike counties. investigators say there has been one credible sighting of the cop killer. the accused cop killer since monday. the search continues to focus on a five square mile area near his parents' home in canadensis. we'll continue to follow the manhunt for eric frein on 6abc.com and alert you to any new developments. we'll also bring you live updates from the pennsylvania state police as they happen. >> a delaware toddler who accidentally shot himself in the head remains in critical condition this morning. the action cam was where it happened, the unit block of cliffside court in claymont. police and rescue workers rushed to the house yesterday morning after getting a report that a two-year-old had found a loaded gun and somehow pulled the trigger. the little boy's brother was heading back to the hospital last night when our john rollins asked him about the gun. >> reporter: anybody know where the gun came from.

>> i mean, i don't really want to talk about that right now, but everything is -- he's going to be all right, that's all i know about. >> reporter: police have not determined who owns the gun or where the child found it. >> new this morning, trenton mayor eric jackson is in the hospital being treated for the stomach flu. the city spokesman says jackson was not feeling well yesterday morning. his doctor recommended that he go to the emergency room. he was kept at the hospital overnight for observation. >> turning now to accuweather. if you're not seeing rain right now, you're in the majority. >> yeah, that's right. most of the area is dry. we've got a couple little sprinkles or showers and that's the way it's going to be today, just spotty here or there. let's take a look right now at storm tracker 6 live double scan and you can see what we're talking about. not a lot of rain, just a sprinkle here or there. we could go in a little closer. i think along the shore line you have your best chance of seeing that as we are right now in seaside heights a little damp in surf city and near atlantic city as well you see some of those showers.

i'll also point out up near reading getting a little bit of a shower as well around the area so just watch for that. it's pretty light. let's head outside and show you what it looks like. we're looking live and not looking too bad. we've got a fair amount of clouds to start you off though as sky 6 looks live and you can see that right now as you look towards center city, see the cloud cover out there currently this morning. let's check some of those numbers for you as you head out the door. it's 64 degrees right now, the dewpoint say. winds out of the northeast at 9:00 and that pressure just under 30-inches and we're bringing on our always on seven day off to the side of the screen. katherine scott has been out there live reporting in atlantic city and i wanted to show you some of the wind speed. she was talking about it gusting. if you're along the coastline as she's near that water you're getting gusty winds. at the atlantic city airport only about 10 miles an hour, 9 miles an hour here in philadelphia, so not terribly windy anywhere else but if you're standing right along that water you're certainly dealing with that this morning. satellite 6 and action radar showing lots of clouds in place. you can kind of see this line

of thundershowers in the overnight hours try to progress towards our area then just fell apart and we just have a couple of sprinkles here or there. that's the way the day is going to be, lots of cloud cover, maybe a sprinkle here or there. this is future tracker 6 showing at 10 o'clock this morning we're stuck with a good amount of clouds, maybe a few sunny breaks in one or two spots getting a sprinkle here or there. it's really not a big deal. you just need to be prepared for a shower at any point. at 4:30 maybe a quick shower in one or two spots. i don't think that will impact your day too much but to give you an idea not to be surprised if it starts to sprinkle. looking at the day ahead by 8:00 a.m., 66 degrees, mostly cloudy skies. by 11:00 a.m., 69, a sprinkle moving by at any point. by 2:00 p.m., 73 and by 5:00 p.m. 71 coming down from your high of 73 degrees. we've got this area of low pressure that's just kind of been slowly drifting through our area giving us the chance for these sprinkles here or there and that's the way it's staying today with mostly cloudy skies and 73 for your high. tomorrow it shifts off the coast a little more so we're

spots today, not everyone. >> right. we'll head over to matt pelman. he can help you navigate the roads this morning as you head out. >> this first morning of october our spookiest month of the year. it's construction once again in delaware county in the southbound lanes of 95 between the blue route and the commodore barry bridge and once again this morning just one lane is getting by as you head down toward the delaware state line and already you can see the traffic moving slowly as they continue the paving work here in the other two lanes. we're hoping this clears out earlier than it did yesterday because yesterday morning it caused huge delays but of course we'll keep you posted on the situation there on 95 in delco. meanwhile on the pennsylvania turnpike still some overnight construction as well in both directions near willow grove. they're working eastbound in the left lane, westbound in the left and center lanes and yesterday they started the new project in jamison, bucks county along 263, york road between meetinghouse and sugar bottom roads.

they're setting up a new traffic pattern there. it's only going to allow 139 get by in each direction on the southbound side of the roadway. so watch out for the change there is in bucks county along 263. and in lindenwold by the middle school there was a motorcycle crash overnight blocking the right lane on the eastbound white horse pike as well as part of white horse avenue. instead of white horse avenue i think i would use atlantic avenue or gibbsboro road as alternates this morning. time for the commuter art brought to you by the waze app. last evening we had big problems in christiana along highway 1. this morning we're talking about construction on the ramps connecting highway 1 with 95. watch out for that. at least this morning you can get by. erin. >> thanks matt. the nation's top doctors are scrambling to deal with the first diagnosed case of ebola in the united states. a man traveling from the west african country of liberia who arrived in texas 11 days ago is now in strict isolation inside a dallas hospital. he is in critical condition. the head of the cdc is

optimistic, though, that officials will stop the spread of ebola in the united states. >> the bottom line here is that i have no doubt that we will control this importation or this case of ebola so that it does not spread widely in this country. >> health authorities have begun tracking down family and friends who may have had close contact with the patient and could be at risk of contracting the virus. a california mayor was shot to death and officials say his wife pulled the trigger. the shooting reportedly followed an argument between mayor daniel crespo and his wife levette yesterday afternoon in belgard den near los angeles. levette crespo is under arrest. >> the kansas city royals won the wildest of wild card games. salvador perez hit a walk off single in the bottom of the 12th inning to give the royals a nine to eight win over the
