>> hey everyone, it is 5:00 a.m., thursday, october 2. tam is off, nydia han joins us. here's what's happening. >> the first-ever case of ebola virus is diagnosed on u.s. soil. >> the death of cooper ceo and his wife takes an ominous turn. someone set the fire at their home on texas. a texas girl feared to be gone forever is found alive in another country. >> david is off, karen rogers has weather and matt pellman has traffic. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, storm tracker 6 live double scan the only place showing a shower is surf city by the ocean. everything is good as you head out the door.

satellite and radar shows we have a good amount of cloud cover especially in philadelphia where we have cloudy skies we have breaks north an south of the city. it's a nice afternoon for this time of year. 57 degrees in fleetwood. we dropped to 55 in pottstown, a little cool, 54 in coatsville and ken net square, 54 in saint david, 63 in center city. some of the suburbs in new jersey, showing 57 in hammonton, temperatures dropped a few degrees within the last half-hour. 59 in glassboro. 56 degrees in northern, delaware right now. checking the day, we'll see lots of clouds, especially early on with some sunshine. it's a nice afternoon with a high of 74. temperatures take a tumble after this. details in the seven day, matt. >> reporter: good morning to you, karen rogers it's refreshing and dry, it hadn't been dry here, because they had to spray water on an earlier truck fire. these are the northbound lanes

of i-95 approaching cottman avenue in the work zone. there is the truck, it was a tire fire near the rear of the truck. since the action cam was out there, the fire crews have left the scene, but police are investigating so they still have the right lane blocked and the truck is still there, just the two left lanes getting by, at this point there's no major delays traveling north through the work seen. i-95 all lanes open heading to the commodor barry bridge and the delaware state line. work on the schuylkill expressway westbound near spring garden is gone. they are paving the boulevard southbound south hampton ton and rising sun. inner drive is blocked. >> ebola concerns have prompted a hospital in hawaii to place a patient in isolation, while the investigation into how a texas

hospital overlooked crucial clues that would have tipped them off about ebola in the u.s. katherine scott has more on the developments. >> reporter: matt, the hospital in hawaii would not issue details about the patient. this is not a confirmed case of ebola, they are taking precautions and the patient remains in isolation. >> this is all handles on deck. cdc detectives are on the ground in dallas hoping to keep the contagion contained. dallas area hospitals and schools and neighborhoods are on high alert after the first case of ebola was diagnosed in their city. the patient was in serious condition overnight under i say layings at -- isolation at texas health presbyterian. he flew through brussels and

dulles and flew to dallas fort worth. 24 hours later he wawctd into an an -- walked into an emergency room and he said he was from liberia, but the nurse never passed the information along and sent him home. 2 days later he was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. >> you have to know where the individual has been you have to know what potential exposure they've had. >> reporter: at jefferson university hospital dr. kathleen squares said protocol has been set and staff educated. ebola is not easily spread. you must have contact with bodily fluids. if a virus is expected, patients must be put in isolation. >> this is not an infection

that can spread through the area or contracted by casual contact meaning being in the same room. >> reporter: and the cdc has sent guidance to hospitals on the best practices for coping with ebola. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> our coverage continues at 6abc.com, we have the latest on the first u.s. case this perhaps a suspected case in hawaii, as well as a list of 7 things you need to know about the virus. >> investigators say the fire that killed the ceo of cooper health system and his wife was intentionally set. firefighters were called to the home of john and joyce sheridan assortment set county early sunday morning. the fire was contained to the upstairs master bedroom. 72-year-old john sheridan died at the scene. his 69-year-old wife died at the hospital. we are waiting for them to tow the tanker truck away. the fire happened in the rear in the wheels and the tires around 3:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of i-95 approaching cottman avenue in the work zone, as you can see. the fire is long extinguished. the police are investigating exactly what happened and the truck hadn't been towed away yet. we have the right lane out of commission on i-95. the good news the two left lanes are getting by, we're not seeing delays at this point. something to be aware of and hopefully they will be able to get the truck towed away soon. we'll keep watching it. for now, let's look at the burbs with the suburban traffic light. westbound zone pennsylvania turnpike willow grove taking out two lanes. and they are working near the

morgantown interchange taking out the lane in both ways, it's causing no delays at this point with speeds in the mid 60s. 295 we have work zone between 47 and the black horse pike. hopefully they will get out thereof shortly. waze app we have a friend telling us about a stopped week on i-95 near the construction zone. but the construction zone has cleared, so no delays on i-95 there, this morning. >> a young girl missing since 2002 has been found alive in mexico. sabrina allen is 17678 she was brought back to the u.s. with her mother accused of an unsupervised visit. allen's dad said he never gave up hope they would be found.
