family. he's being treated for ebola and officials hope the forced isolation of his family will help prevent the virus from taking off. it's thursday night and the big story on "action news" tonight is the latest on the effort to contain the first case of ebola diagnosed in the united states tonight there's word annie mccormick american free lance photographer has come down with the virus in liberia. "action news" reportser sharee williams is here, sharee, come on back, sharee, the photographer is working with nbc crew and now there's concern for everybody's well-being. >> photographs and their crew work closely together and that's why the concern is there at this point. it's very natural to have this type of concern. because they are working this close together. here's what we know at this point. nbc news free lance photographer had a fever yesterday. and today tested positive for

virus. now medical reporter dr. nancy schneiderman working with the free lancer will be flown back to the united states and will go into isolation for 21 days. and if her name sounds familiar she's a surgeon with university of pennsylvania hospital. meanwhile the first patient in the tous come down with virus is ill tonight and may be facing charge from home country of liberia. >> ebola patient thomas dunkin in serious condition that according to family in north carolina who spoke out today. >> we're hoping and praying eric survives the night and we got our hopes up for him and we hope he gets the necessary treatment he needs. >> he remains isolated at dallas opt and cdc says the patient may have had contact with at least 100 people including ambulance and hospital staff, friends and family including five children dunk sin related to. and none have symptoms. but they're being monitored. meanwhile health officials in

texas decided to power wash the apartment complex dunkin vit visited family and at least four members were ordered to stay inside with no visitors for 21 days. dunkin is believeded to have contracted the deadly virus here liberian nrous a pregnant woman ib infected he later flew from liberia september 19 through brussels before making it to u.s. soil in washington d.c. and landed in dallas september 20. days later he felt ill and wept to the hospital. he was given anti-buy ot ixz and send home. even though he told a nurse he had come in from the hot sdmon liberia. >> regretfully that information was not fully communicated throughout the full team. >> now, liberian authorities plan to prosecute dunkin because he allegedly lied on a travel questionnaire before leaving liberia. they say they did not tell the truth about his exposure to ebola when asked. >> in a way he put americans in

you three shooting victims arrived here 10:15 and that silver car behind me. now it's not clear in there was fourth person in the vehicle also possibly the person who may have driven the shooting victims and it's not clear at this what the extent of injuries could be. right now, 24th district police officers are holding down the screen. shows shooting victims went inside temple university hospital again and we don't know the extent of their injuries. police are in there now trying to sort out what may have happened. we're hearing shootings may have occurred in nearby here and clear field streets and may have taken them over to this area. again this is limited information we have at this time. but we do know around 10:15 the shooting victims arrived. we're hearing those are three shooting victims possibly fourth person in that car. we know investigators are inside right now in the hospital trying to sort this out and find out more information. and that's all the information

that we have at this point. reporting live in north philadelphia, annie mccormick, "channel 6 action news." >> thank you, annie. a violent struggle inside a home in the powelton section of philadelphia left a man dead. police say a three-year-old child was in the home at the time but slept through the whole thing. it happened before 8:00 tonight in the 4200 block during an argument in the kitchen. the homeowner stabbed an acquaintance several times killing him and the homeowner is in police custody. a man accused of pretending to be a police officer is actually high ranking philadelphia firefighter and what's wortion he's been accused of forceing a woman into his car for a sex act. fire lieutenant jamaal jan son is charged with kidnapping, impersonating an officer and sexual assault. he drove up to the victim on the 1300 block of west russcomb street 10:30 last night claiming

to be a police sglap the young lady gets into the vehicle in fear she's being arrested based on the things the man said to her he forces her into performing a sexual act. the woman was able to escape and called 911. it did not take long for officers to track down their suspect. lieutenant johnson was stationed engine 45 ladder 14 at 26 and york. >> a philadelphia police officer was arrested today stemming from his alleged fight with another officer that we told you about earlier this week. 4 dwreerd officer kenneth allen has been on the force for 3 years and internal affairs detectives say allen assaulted the same female officer four times most recently last friday. commissioner ramsey has suspended allen with intent to dismiss. >> and in north philadelphia, community members gathered tonight to reason a woman gunned down while working her dog saturday night.

this was less than an hour after she bought it. when she could not get her money back from the guy that sold it to her she came to "action news" troubleshooters for help. >> i wonder if it will blow up. >> this video posted on facebook. >> getting near the gas tank. >> i smelled smoke instantly pulled over i saw a wisp of white smoke coming out of the hood. >> a girl and her brother were on 422 between royersford and -- their mom fwhachd horror. >> i could not get to them because i should have drove. it was just -- it was horrible. >> she urnled them on the phone to get out. >> and they ran down the side of 42 to get away from it. >> we ran out of the car and i looked back and it was in flames. i was just like heartbroken. >> heartbroken and wanting money back from the man that sold her the vehicle less than an hour before it burst into flames. >> he said it was excellent

that rain will be moving in late tomorrow night. so the evening looking good. future tracker showing around midnight is when some of the showers will begin to break out. far north and west suburbs. otherwise we're looking at cloudy skies. as we head into saturday morning this is when we will get a broken line of some showers maybe even isolated rum m of thunder around 8:30 in the morning and it's quick moving system and by about lunchtime west of philadelphia already clearing and then you can see the showers across new jersey and that will be moving out by the middle of afternoon and by 4:00 even clouds will be out of here. so saturday, we'll start soggy. but it will end sunny. the morning rush hour tomorrow problems, mixture of sun and cloud and patchy fog. shouldn't be widespread. 6:00, 5, by 7:00, 57 and by 8:00, 58. and your day planner showing tomorrow will be a brighter day than today. today we had a big battle going on between sun and clouds and clouds won out. tomorrow, we'll see good amount of sunshine.
