good afternoon, sara bloomquist is off and in the news, a double murder trial reaches a turning point in montgomery county. we have the latest and the latest information from two rescue puppies stolen from their frontiarity yesterday afternoon. but the big sorry is another u.s. citizen exposed to the ebola virus is on his way back to the u.s. this comes as health officials up their efforts to contain the disease in dallas. a massive effort is underway to clean the apartment where thomas duncan stays just days before he was diagnosed. elizabeth herr is live wtd latest. >> reporter: one here in dallas and one in rhode island, we watch and wait, hoping for the

we have developing news from childrens hospital in philadelphia. they have notify the accepters for disease control for patients that have acute muscle weakness, officials believe it may be connected to the entero virus. the patients have not tested positive yet and further tests are underway. patients have the inability to move their limbs.

station. and strong storms leave behind damage and destruction in one part of texas and that same system is heading our way. now the details, the prosecution is expected to rest today in the trial for a man accused of killing a baby and her grandmother in montgomery county. prosecutors say the murders were the result of a botched kidnapping plot in 2012. david henry is live now in norristown with more. >> reporter: rick, this trial is in lunch recess right now, the prosecution is getting closer to wrapping up its case. the defendant will have a chance to tell his story as his own defense witness. >> the 28-year-old is accused of kidnapping and killing saanvi and her grandmother, it happened at the apartment in king of prussia in 2012. he eventually confessed demonstrating how he killed the grandmother and snatched the

baby. he has since recanted the confession and represents himself in the trial. he faces an uphill battle given the evidence and the confession itself. police say that he hid the body in the basement of one of the buildings in the complex. they showed the jury the pictures of the discarded body amid bottles and debris and it was too much and some of the jury broke down in tears. he claims his confession was coerced and was forced to participate in the plot by two strangers. steven henceman is the court appointed defense attorney. >> he says he was coerced into doing it with two other people.

>> who are these other people? >> i don't know just names, matt and josh. >> he is making suggestions on procedural matters but he is doing all the talking in front of the jury, the prosecution is expected to rest its case monday or tuesday. live in norristown, david henry, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. a man wanted in a deadly stabbing turned himself into police. a homeowner killed an acquaintance during a struggle last night. it happened on summer street in powellton, a child was home at the time but slept through the whole thing. a fast moving fire forced family from their home overnight. crews were called to west oxford street at 1:45 a.m. the red cross is assisting 15 people including several young children, no reports of injuries and the cause is not yet known.

two men got away with stolen cash and cigarettes after robbing a philadelphia gas station, they caught the crime at the his on the 1400 block of west chelting ham avenue. the suspects went through the back door and said they had guns and told employees to fill a bag with cigarettes and took a collection jar on the counter with over $300 inside of it. now, to the latest on the ebola epidemic, an american freelance journalist that tested positive for the disease will be flown back to the united states for treatment. in edition to that, the crew he is working with will be flown back and put in quarantine for 21 days out of an abundance of caution. and the family of thomas duncan says that nobody will take potentially contaminated items from their home. despite fears of the virus
