well, good monday morning. we begin with the latest on the ebola patient fighting for his life in a dallas hospital. >> thomas eric duncan is so sick doctors are not giving him the experimental vaccine. we begin with tahman bradley. >> reporter: this morning, thomas eric duncan, the first person diagnosed with ebola in the u.s. remains in critical condition. his family says he's unconscious, on a ventilator, and on dialysis. duncan's girlfriend is frustrated with the care he's receiving. >> i don't think americans, they are doing enough to save him. >> reporter: his girlfriend and family are having their temperatures taken at least twice a day. while specially train eed hazma crews are decontaminated their apartment.

>> being here scares me. >> reporter: the cdc is monitoring nine high-risk patients. 40 others are being watched. a free-lance cameraman for nbc news is expected to arrive in nebraska for treatment. though ebola can on the spread through contact of bodily flo d fluids, u.s. officials are leaving nothing to chance. >> our top priority is the safety of americans. i remain quite confident we'll not have a widespread outbreak. >> reporter: overnight, the cdc confirm d dr. rick sacra does not have a recurrence of ebola. >> dr. richard besser has been in the ebola hot zone covering the story for us. he just returned to the u.s. this weekend. he spoke to rebecca jarvis about

whether the precautions being taken are enough. >> i had my temperature taken three times before i got on the plane in liberia. someone looked me in the eye to see if i looked sick. i had a detailed questionnaire. that makes me more comfortable that people that are sick are not getting on the plane. if i were taking tylenol, those symptoms wouldn't show up. or if i was not honest on the questionnaire. we have to knock it out in africa so we're safer here. >> we'll have much more from dr. besser later on "good morning america." a second new jersey preschooler is being monitored for enterovirus. eli waller's death is the first linked to enterovirus 68. he went to bed with pink eye and no other symptoms and never woke

up. there have been confirmed and suspected cases in 46 states. in pennsylvania, search teams looking for accused cop killer eric frein are focusing on a small area after a possible sighting. this comes two days after searchers found a stash of food, clothing, ammunition at a camp site believed to be left by frein. he's been on the run for nearly a month now. for the first time, the u.s. has deployed apache helicopters in the fight against isis. a convert to islam formerly known as peter is being held by isis. a masked man has threatened to execute him. his parents have issued their own video pleading for his release. >> we have asked our government to change its action.

they're higher after the good jobs news from washington and rally on wall street. the u.s. added 248,000 jobs last month, better than expected. that could mean more people with paycheck spending more money. the dow added more than 200 points and opens this morning govern 17,000. a main stay of silicon valley may split into two taens. hewlett-packard may divide into two. hp is one of the largest technology companies in the world with $112 billion in revenue last year, it calls itself the original silicon valley startup. with only four carriers handling the majority of domestic flights, you would think air fares would be going up. they're not. the airlines have announced a hike this year. worries about sears and k
