through the overnight hours. they have a few light showers, in buck county and lehigh county. they are all moving to the north and that is not a big deal. the wider view showing we have a powerful storm system moving through the ohio valley, this is where they have tornado warnings posted. i don't expect tornadoes locally but as it moves through it will be pulling down the high winds from the atmosphere. we have a chance of gusty thunderstorms in the overnight hours. at 2:30 in the morning you can see the vigorous line of thunderstorms along the i-95 corridor, the north and west serbs could get showers as early as 10:00 tonight. the main impact is overnight so don't be surprised if you wake up with a rumble of thunder in the wee hours of the morning. this is a fast moving system and by 9:00 it's well offshore and the sunshine is back and the key

township, walter perez, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. philadelphia police say they don't know what sparked a deadly shooting in south philadelphia this morning. chopper 6 hd was over the scene of the 2100 block of taney terrace, a man in his 20s was shot once in the stomach. from our delaware newsroom, defense attorneys are fighting charges against the former head master of a prestigious delaware school. the 54-year-old wheeler waived his right to a trial by jury. the defense filed a motion to dismiss dealing in child pornography and in a prosecutors failed to prove that he viewed the images on his computer. he was head of the tower school

they will continue to investigate why the virus has sparked muscle weakness in five children, registered nurse and reporter ali gorman joins us from the big board. >> this has a lot of parents concerned. just to give you perspective, there are hundreds of entero virus, d 68 is not new but doesn't usually spread this widely. it's confirmed in almost every state, some cases are mild and some are severe, parents shouldn't panic but they should be aware. doctors at the childrens hospital are treating five children with sudden muscle weakness with changes in their spine. neurologist, dr. bandwell says it shows inflammation in the gray matter that controls movement, it's possible that entero virus caused the problem, tests are send to the cdc to see

if the children have the d 68 strain that, is the strain that they say claimed the life of eli waller. other factors may have been involved. there is no specific treatment for entero virus d 68, but any child with wheezing or difficultly breathing needs to do to hospital or weakness to the limbs or face also needs to be seen right away. parents should encourage frequent hand washing. >> the a good way to protect your kids from respiratory infections and to keep them from spreading respiratory infections to others. >> all kids over 6 months old should get a flu shot, it won't protect against entero virus d 68, giving parents one less virus to worry about.

economists are looking ahead to holiday shopping season, many think americans are going to set some new spending records. the new federation expected

time for accuweather at the "action news" big board. cecily tynan is keeping on eye on the sky, at least indoors. she doesn't have to go outside. >> i have stormtracker 6 live double scan i can see everything thanks to this. we had a few scattered light showers in bucks and lehigh county, about a half hour ago and they have moved out. another system is wait on the winds, we need the rain and the problem is, it comes through overnight with the potential for gusty thunderstorms. temperatures on the cool side, philadelphia 70 degrees and dover 75 seeing peeks of sunshine there. and a few peeks of sunshine in millville, 69 degrees, but with the increased cloud cover, allentown and reading dropped down to 65 and lancaster currently 64. satellite 6 along with action radar showing the system is moving out of the ohio valley,

parts of kentucky, west virginia and ohio, tornado watches and it's a fast moving system. this is what will move through in the overnight hours, future tracker showing at 9:30 tonight, we'll see thunderstorms begin to break out in the far western suburbs, elsewhere just a lot of clouds but then in the overnight hours, at 11:00, one band of thunderstorms moving into philadelphia and a few more will be rolling through at 1:00 in the morning, with these storms they have the potential to pull down gusty winds from the upper at mother fear, wind gusts of 45 to 50 miles per hour. by 5:00 most of the activity is rolling offshore and we clear out pretty quickly by the morning rush hour, it's out of here and the clouds clear west to the east, and this means that part of you viewing area west of philadelphia, you should be able to see the total lunar eclipse, look west to the moon at 4:56 in the morning, get up early and see the shading on the upper

left side of the moon and by 6:25, this is when you get totality, all the moon will be covered. the earth is blocking most of the rays from the sun and some of them are sneaking through and this is why the moon will have the reddish orange color known as the blood moon, we had one back in april on the 15 and, but it won't be around long but by 7:09, you'll have a limited tun to see it. behind the system the sun is back, in the afternoon, 3:00 tomorrow see the wind gusts out of the west, 24 to 27 miles per hour. it is going to be a blustery day. the call from accuweather for tonight, showers and thunderstorms moving through, and 54 is the low in allentown and 64 in cape may, it will be a mild night temperature wise, the five-day at 5:00, tomorrow morning clouds and early, the sunshine is back and 73 degrees, cool air lags behind the system on thursday.
