a moment but first that accuweather forecast including word of a blood moon. meteorologist, david murphy standing by. hey, david. >> we'll see about that moon. we have a lot of cloud cover out there right now, matt. starting out okay temperature-wise. 65 degrees in philadelphia and allentown 63, 64 in trenton, 62 in reading. and down the shore 67 along the boardwalk in atlantic city. and sea isle city. as we're heading out the door we're expecting partly cloudy skies with some clearing west to east. 62 by 6 o'clock. 63 degrees by 8:00 a.m., and we could start to feel it getting kind of breezy out there. now matt mentioned we have what's called blood moon a-total lunar eclipse that's going to be building over the next couple hours. all of the moon covered by the shadow of the earth will be at 6:25 and that blood moon coming in as early as 4:56 when the moon takes on a orange hugh. we have a bit of cloud cover out there. the moon will be in the one of the but right now it's kind of hard to see and we'll see whether or not we can break some of those clouds up.

storms rolled through overnight. they're gone and off the coast. we had tornado warning in ocean county in the wee hours of the morning but no damage reported there. 64 degrees by 9 o'clock, clouds dispersing and then a lost sunshine, a high of 75 at 3 o'clock. again windy conditions out there. that should die down later this evening. matt more changes temperature-wise in the accuweather 7-day forecast. i'll have details coming up. >> thank you david. developing overnight, a driver is being tested for dui after a violent two-car crash in hunting park overnight. the action cam was at the scene of the intersection of second and west pike streets. police say the two cars collided at 2:00 a.m. with one car smashing into a concrete barrier. both drivers suffered head injuries. investigators are trying to pinpoint what caused that crash. a few hours earlier, up to seven cars crashed on the scudder falls bridge in washington crossing, bucks county. that goes over the delaware river. it happened at midnight in the

northbound lanes of i-95. at least one person was seriously injured in this crash. investigators say it appears it was just a chain reaction. police shut down the highway for a time but i-95 has since reopened. and all new this morning, a woman claims she was not allowed to board a flight at philadelphia international airport because she questioned the sobriety of the pilot on twitter. "action news" reporter vernon odom is live at the airport with both sides of the story. good morning, odom. >> reporter: good morning, matt. business starting to pick up in volume here at philadelphia international airport bright and early this morning. business as usual so far. now, here's the story. the woman denies she ever said the pilot was intoxicated but a passenger last night apparently got on her smartphone to start tweeting about her weird experience here and that brought a lot of grief down on her. a jetblue flight to boston was delayed for hours last night because of a passenger's so-called joke overheard and

apparently misinterpreted by the pilot as the plane was being boarded. lisa carter knight was one of the passengers on her way home from boston. >> we had been waiting an hour. there was a joke by another passenger. been a long night, hope there's a fully stocked bar on the airplane and the pilot immediately ran out and said that's it, everybody back up on the -- up at the gate. i've been accused of being intoxicated. >> reporter: the pilot said he was now obligated to take a sobriety test. it came back negative but this delayed the flight long past the original 8:30 departure time. carter knight began setting out her story on social media. >> i'm a marketing professional. i went to twitter to share my experience. not bad, just very strange with my friends and my followers and jetblue staff and the pilot did not like that tonight and so i'm standing here 1 o'clock in the morning because i was denied access to the flight tonight. >> reporter: carter knight says she could not rebook obviously overnight.

her refund will take at least 48 hours she says. a jetblue spokesperson says they'll have something much more to say about this incident later today. live at philadelphia international airport, vernon odom, channel6 "action news." >> all right, thanks, vernon. "action news" spoke exclusively with a 66 year old south jersey widow who faced down a burglar in her home. the retired schoolteacher asked that we not show her face. the incident happened at 1:45 yesterday morning in the woman's home on the joel court cul-de-sac in lindenwold. the victim was walking down her stairs when she was startled by a man walking up the steps. >> i of course said something ridiculous like, you know, who are you, and he was very quickly and he came up and i proceeded down. but i just came on down. >> the suspect sprayed pepper spray at the woman and yanked the purse out of her hand. the woman yelled at the man and struggled with him scaring him off. the woman thinks the man is left-handed because he used

that hand to spray her. if you saw something that could help find this suspect, you're urged to call lindenwold police. >> the fbi is making a plea for help to identify an isis fighter who could be an american. while u.s. airstrikes targeted another middle eastern terror group that could be even more dangerous. abc's tahman bradley is tracking these developments from washington. >> reporter: fierce fighting in the syrian border town. refugees crossing into turkey as the u.s. led coalition continuing air assault against islamic state militants but the pentagon is worried cobani will be lost. >> i'm fearful it will fall. >> reporter: general martin dempsey talks with abc's martha raddatz about the airstrikes against isis and the terror group khorasan. >> i think it's absolutely safe to say disrupted but the

unknown is for how long. >> reporter: here in the u.s., the fbi is enlisting the help of the american public in tracking down home grown terrorists joining the fight with isis. in this chilling isis propaganda video a fighter in a black mask speaks as the men he's about to kill dig a ditch in the background. >> you can see them now digging their own graves in the very place where they were stationed. >> reporter: the fbi believes the man can be from the u.s. we're hoping that someone might recognize this individual and provide us with key pieces of information. the fbi web site says. no piece of information is too small. the fbi is being very aggressive about this home grown terror threat. they're asking americans to call them if they know anyone looking to join isis. tahman bradley, abc news, washington. >> a surveillance camera catches a bank rob at work in south whitehall township. the suspect walked into the national penn bank on the 4200 block of tillman street yesterday and demanded -- and

handed a demand note to the teller. police say he got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. call south height hall township police in you recognize him. philadelphia police want you to call 911 if you recognize this woman. she attacked another woman inside the whispers bar inside ogontz avenue. police say she punched 23-year-old before throwing a pint glass at her head. investigators say don't approach the suspect if you see her. >> time for your first look at business here at the big board. americans can expect to pay less on average to heat their homes this winter. the department of energy is predicting warmer temperatures this winter compared to last year. for those who use propane for heating you can expect to seat steepest drop. stocks plunged on fierce of another global economic slow down and this morning futures are in the green pointing to a higher open. facebook bills itself as a place where people can can be

themselves, share their life stories with family, friends and even strangers and speaking of strangers the social media giant is working on an app that will allow use stories interact anonymously. it will let people use different names to talk about topics that they may not be comfortable connecting to their real names. no word on when it will launch. eva, over to you. >> all right, thanks, matt. happening today the third and final debate between pennsylvania's candidates for governor takes place in pittsburgh and it appears the race may be tightening a bit. a new quinnipiac university poll shows democrat tom wolf leading governor tom corbett by 17 percentage points that's down from a 24-point margin last. no the state of public education will undoubtedly be a subject of contention at the final governor's debate. >> 4:43 now and folks that got up this early first of all to watch the news also may be getting up to look at that blood moon which will be starting shortly. >> western suburbs the best chance but around philadelphia we may start to see those clouds break up in time. let's start you with storm tracker 6 live double scan and we'll show you the rain from overnight is off the coast a couple thunderstorms as expected, even a brief tornado warning 12 miles up the coast from atlantic city but no damage reported from that, just strong winds. let's take a look outside and sky 6 has been scanning the skies for the moon and we are starting to see a breakup now over philadelphia so a bit of that moon evident and it looks like the shading of the moon,

we're looking for a tote cal eclipse this morning is going to begin at about 4:56 so only about 13 minutes from now and by 6:25, we should see the moon totally covered and the other thing you're going start to notice is a change of color in the moon. they call this a blood moon and it starts to take on sort of an orange hugh as we go over the next couple of hours so keep your eyes on the western skies on the horizon and we'll see if we don't see that change of color and that shadow starting to come over the moon a little later on. obviously a lot of clouds out there, though, so it may be tough to see it but we're getting a nice picture on sky 6. temperature 69 degrees in philadelphia, it is a little breezy winds out of the southwest at 14 miles an hour and there you see those storms coming in. i am adding the seven day always on over on the left-hand portion of your screen for throws who want to glance ahead. did have a couple thunderstorms as expected. these did get off the coast and now we're looking at breaks in the clouds and that is going to be a continuing pattern today. in fact, most of the day we're

expecting mostly sunny skies. 63 by 8 o'clock. 68 by 11:00 and then mild again this afternoon, blustery out there but 73 by 2 o'clock and 75 degrees is your high. 71 by 5 o'clock. so, spending most of the afternoon in the 70's. high temperatures looking pretty good. 70 in allentown, 71 in reading and low 70's down the shore with those mid 70's closer to the i-95 corridor. now, winds are going to be an issue today as we go from the morning into the noon hour, the winds will shift from the west and the gusts are going to be up over 25 miles per hour at times, maybe even reaching 30 in a couple of neighborhoods, so it is going to be a blustery day. and even by 5 o'clock, you still see a lot of those strong winds rolling across the region out of the west. later on tonight the winds start to die down in philadelphia by 9 o'clock we expect an only 10 miles per hour breeze at that point. and then tomorrow future tracker 6 showing that you we're once again under the sun with maybe a few more clouds digging in later in the afternoon. there's the 6 o'clock forecast from future tracker just a few clouds but another bright one

tomorrow. it will be cooler tomorrow however as that front gets farther past us and we wind up with cooler air coming in from the west-northwest. 75 trees is today's high, sunshine but blustery conditions out there with those winds as you just saw rolling through the region gusting in the 20's. sunny and cooler then on thursday, 68 degrees. still a pretty nice afternoon. and then on friday, the next system arrives with a lot of clouds and there will be some spotty showers through the day. it looks like most of the rain probably holds off until later at night and in the overnight hours, 64 is friday's high. and then saturday a spotty shower possible, mainly in the morning. cloudy otherwise and 64 the high there. second half of the weekend a mix of clouds and sun on sunday. cool for the eagles, 63 but it's certainly football weather. and it might start to rain again late sunday night and we get into monday, mainly cloudy, showers around and tuesday warm again, 76 degrees with a late thunderstorm. okay. >> all right. thank you. breaking overnight one person is dead, another is in custody following a standoff in chicago with a man wanted

in indianapolis. police were trying to serve a warrant on daniel brown when one of two men inside a south side chicago apartment began shooting at police from a window. a police captain was hit, he is in serious condition but expected to survive. brown was wandered for a triple shooting and carjacking in indianapolis. triple shooting and carjacking suspect who is now in custody. >> an indiana couple claims police went overboard during a routine traffic stop over a seat belt violation. the couple is suing the hammond police department claiming they had to keep their windows up as tensions escalated during the traffic stop last month. the officers smashed the glass, then used a taser on the father and it all played out in front of the couple's children. the department says the officers were acting in the interest of officer safety. the two officers involved have been sued for excessive force before. new here -- >> new on "action news" reports of gun shots caused

>> taking a quick look at traffic, bucks county, i-95 at the scudder falls bridge, the northbound lanes are reopened this morning following an overnight crash that closed the roadway. elsewhere on 95 the bridge street on-ramp has also reopened following overnight construction. turning to fort washington route 309 at the pa turnpike looking at damp conditions.

no major issues along 309. if you're on the turnpike watch out for a truck accident eastbound near the reading interchange. matt. >> thank you eva. time for the travel forecast. before we do so we would like to wish a happy birthday to chris heller and the big board made you a cake. so, happy birthday, chris. i don't know who chris is. but i just decide to do do that. at great risk of millions of people asking me to wish them happy birthday every day. so, the big issue for your travel forecast today is going to be in phoenix. sky harbor international airport the remnants of hurricane simon out in the pacific are affecting the state of arizona right now and they could see some torrential downpours so look out if you're heading tout phoenix, that's going to be the big issue for today. miami getting thundershower activity today as it seems to always do during the summer and early fall and finally the only other thing really looking for some heavy rain in boston, logan international you can see the rain showers over there. some of the stuff that we saw overnight and that could be an issue for you as well. everything else looking pretty

good including chicago, down there in texas and out in california. should be good to go. eva, back to you. >> thanks, matt. minnesota vikings running back adrian peterson's attorney says he will plead not guilty to child abuse charges later today. he was indicted last month in texas. peterson says he never intended to harm his four year old son by spanking him way tree branch earlier this year. also happening today nfl commissioner roger goodell will meet with team owners new york. they will discuss several issues but amending the league's personal conduct policy will likely top the list. goodell has been under fire for his handling of the ray rice atlantic city punching incident as well as other domestic violence incidents involving other players. the group will also discuss the pending sale of the buffalo bills as well as putting a team in los angeles. >> a washington state homeowner put a poster up in his neighborhood containing surveillance pictures of the young woman he says try to break into his house. the homeowner says the burglar

might be walking with a limp because to get away she jumped off the roof. this is surveillance video of the woman trying to find a way to get into the house in the town of puyella. she ends up climbing onto the roof and then to escape jumps off. not so gracefully. when the family heard footsteps on the roof the homeowner banged on the window and that's when the woman jumped. it was about 15 feet to the ground. she remains are you busy?

>> former penn state and nfl running back larry johnson is facing aggravated battery charges. police say he can cut a man with a broken bottle at a miami nightclub. johnson was arrested this morning am he played for the chiefs and three other nfl teams between 2003 and 2011. >> troubled actress amanda bynes has returned to social media after a five-month hiatus. bynes took to her verified twitter account early tuesday morning, she tweeted treat others how you want to be treated. the truth will set you free. the former child star also said she's moving back to new york city to study psychology. last week she was arrested for a dui in california.
