>> well, it got mild yesterday afternoon. as you take a look at currents temperatures we're still dealing with mild air. 64 as you head outside in philadelphia, 62 in wilmington, 61 in allentown and 67 in sea isle city and along the boardwalk in atlantic city. as we head outside, we're expecting mainly clear skies with maybe a few lingering clouds as we go through the 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. period. temperature in the low 60's. we do have a total lunar eclipse that is beginning just about now with a shadow starting to come over the top of the moon and it's also what's called a blood moon where the moon takes ton an orange color. the totality of the moon all of it covered by the shade of the earth after about 6:25. the moon sets at 7:09 the question is whether or not you can see this. we still have a fair amount of cloud cover out there. sky 6 was able to pick up a little bit of that moon through the clouds about 10 minutes ago so it depends on where you are but it's over on the western sky if you want to see it start to take on that hu and take on the shade. as we roll through the day it's going to be a bright one, 64 degrees by 9 o'clock, maybe getting rid of a few clouds.

by noon lots of sunshine, 70 degrees. your high this afternoon is 75 and then 69 by 6 o'clock. there is going to be a blustery breeze gusting in the 20's as we go through the afternoon. that will die down later tonight. looks like cooler air is just around the corner, karen. details come congress up in that seven day. >> all right dave. things have been busy in the overnight hours with traffic. looking live in bucks county, this is i-95 right at the scudder falls bridge. we had an overnight multi vehicle accident. it has cleared so northbound traffic back opened and looking pretty good right now. and on the big picture you can see travel times on the schuylkill and i-95 in pretty good shape right now. the action cam was on the scene in huntingdon. i want to show you this, hunting park second street at pike street and you can see the two-vehicle accident that was out there right now and the damage that was done. police are still on the scene at this point. they're investigating. it was an accident that caused injuries. you can see the debris on the roadway right there. avoid the area altogether of second and pike street.

stick to luzerne and front streets. another problem pennsylvania turnpike eastbound blocked approaching reading. debris over the roadway. an accident involving a tractor-trailer and a trash truck, a messy situation. stick to 422 or 322 instead, matt. >> thanks karen. new this morning, a woman claims her twitter posts about an incident on a plane at philadelphia international airport got her kicked off a flight to boston. "action news" reporter vernon odom is live at phl with the story. good morning, vernon. >> reporter: good morning, matt. it's business as usual here at philadelphia international airport. volume fixing up here so far this morning, even before it's bright and early. it's just early. but an incident here last night apparently got a woman on her smartphone to start tweeting about her weird experience and that brought her nothing but grief. a jetblue flight to boston was delayed for hours last night because of a passenger's so-called joke overheard and apparently misinterpreted by the pilot as the plane was

being boarded. lisa carter knight was one of the passengers on the way home to boston. >> we had been waiting an hour so there was a joke by another passenger been a long night, hope there's a fully stocked bar on the airplane. and the pilot immediately ran out and says, that's it, everybody back up on -- up at the gate. i've been accused of being intoxicated. >> reporter: the pilot said he was now obligated to take a sobriety test. it came back negative but this delayed the flight long past the original 8:30 departure time. so carter knight began setting out her story on social media. >> i'm a marketing professional so i went to twitter to share my experience. not bad, just very strange with my friends and my followers and jetblue staff and the pilot did not like that tonight. and so i'm standing here at 1 o'clock in the morning because i was denied access to the flight tonight. >> reporter: carter knight says she was stuck in town obviously overnight and could not rebook. she may be in there as early

as today trying to do that right now. her refund she was told will take 48 hours. jetblue put out a statement confirming that the angry pilot did pass that sobriety test and they'll have more to say about this whole incident later on today. live at philadelphia international airport, vernon odom, channel6 "action news." >> thanks vernon. also new this morning, smoke and flames damage an apartment in south jersey. this is viewer video of the apartment complex on the 1000 block of jarden court last night. crews arrive with flames shooting through the roof. it took about an hour to get the fire under control and firefighters were able to contain the fire to one unit. there are no reports of injuries. >> a man is in critical condition, another is in jail following a stabbing at a northeast philadelphia supermarket. the action cam was at the scene yesterday evening at the pathmark on the 800 block of cottman avenue. witnesses tell police the two men were arguing in the produce section of the store when one of them pulled out a

kitchen knife and stabbed other man in the neck and face. >> one of the ladies was screaming, i think it was his wife or partner, you know, girlfriend or something. it was nerve wracking. >> police say several teens tipped them off that the attacker was walk on nearby railroad tracks. chopper six was overhead after they took a man into custody and recovered the knife. the man is charged with aggravated assault. >> five additional cases of enterovirus have been confirmed in new jersey. they include one in camden county and one in mercer county bringing the state's total to 14. camden county officials say the boy diagnosed with the d68 strain was brought to the hospital for treatment 10 days ago. he is now recuperating at home and not in danger of infecting other children. our coverage of the enterovirus outbreak continues on 6abc.com. there you will find the signs and symptoms of the virus and the six things you need know about enterovirus.

>> from our delaware news room, delaware governor jack markell will play principal for a day at an elementary school in dover. markel will visit classrooms and greet students at booker t. washington elementary school today. the school's real principal will also be there. dozens of parents educators and government officials tackled the issue of pennsylvania keystone exams in delaware county last night. every public school student in the state needs to pass three keystone exams to graduate starting with the class of 2017. opponents at the meeting in radnor township say the requirement ignores learning differences, puts too much weight on three tests and is a burden on students and schools. >> all eyes are on the sky this morning waiting nor blood moon to can come. >> yeah, really cool can, lunar eclipse happening right now. as we take a look at storm tracker 6 live hd, the rain from overnight is gone and that's good because we had some strong thunderstorms as expected. even had a tornado warning north of atlantic city but that didn't produce any damage

from what we've seen from any local storm reports and as we head outside right now, we are drying out and things are getting better. there is that moon. kind of hard to see in this picture with the clouds going across it, but we are starting to see a little bit of shading with the shadow of the earth going across the top of the moon. and right now it looks pretty white in this picture but oftentimes with this blood moon it does start to take on a yellowish haze. that's something you want to look for in the western skies. as you get up this morning that moon is on its way down toward the horizon right now though. 64 degrees in philadelphia and 61 degrees in allentown. so, we're starting out a bit on the mild side. it is a little bit breezy out there, though, so jackets required. and i've added the always on seven day on the left-hand portion of your screen for those who want to glance ahead. 67 at the boardwalk in atlantic city right now, same thing in sea isle city and 64 in dover delaware. there go those storms overnight am we got some popping through, they are all off the coast now and we do have that cloud cover beginning to thin out. we are going to break into

full sunshine as we go later into the morning and in through most of the afternoon. up in allentown, a high of 70 today, mostly sunny but it is going to be windy behind that system that brought us the thunderstorms overnight. down the shore, more of the same. mostly sunny skies this afternoon, blustery conditions with a high of 72 degrees. and in philadelphia, we are going for a high of 75 this afternoon. nice and mild, mostly sunny but it will be blustery with that wind out of the west at 12 to 25 miles per hour. here's how it's going to go today. 63 by 8 o'clock. still a little bit cool but getting up into the up are 60's by 11 o'clock and 73 by 2 o'clock. we're spending the entire afternoon in the 70's in philadelphia. your high of 75 around 3 o'clock this afternoon and here are the winds. you can see that between now and up until about noon they are going to shift out of the west and really start to pick up with wind gusts up over 25 miles per hour in some cases. still staying pretty strong by 5 o'clock. but then as we go later into the evening they start to fall back a little bit. 10 miles per hour gusts in

philadelphia then. and then it's sunny and cooler tomorrow with another little weak front coming through that ushers in high temperatures in the 60's after today's 70's. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, we're going for that high of 75 today, sunshine later on today but blustery. and then sunny and cooler tomorrow, 68. cloudy and damp on friday, 64. there will be some showers around during the day. looks like the steadier rain might hold off until nighttime in most of the region if you do get steadier rain during the day it's probably down toward the shore on friday. and then saturday a spotty shower around especially in the morning, gray otherwise and cool. and then some sunshine coming back for sunday, 63 for the eagles game. >> gotcha'. thank you david. 5:10. we're following several developing stories. a strong earthquake rocks southwestern china crumbling buildings and sending people running for shelter. >> the fire fight out west turns deadly while mandatory evacuations are under way in yosemite national park. karen. >> live on the schuylkill expressway near spring garden, no overnight construction

>> pretty cool. let's get a check of our traffic though as people are heading out, they'll be looking um at the sky. hopefully they'll be paying attention to the road, too. >> hopefully. i know i always pause to before i head to my car though. nice to get a beautiful view of the sky when we have something like that to watch. suburban traffic report. we know you have to wake up earlier in the suburbs to get out and get going. live in plymouth meeting, the blue route approaching the mid county toll. a bit damp but no problems. traffic moving fine on the blue route. we have another issues out there, though. and look at this one, pennsylvania turnpike eastbound the blocked approaching reading. that's exit 286. we've got an accident involving a tractor-trailer and a trash truck. a messy situation out there. debris on the road westbound as well. eastbound is blocked. use 422 or 322 as your alternates because of this problem with the nasty accident. also another accident involving a tractor-trailer on another turnpike. this one in new jersey. in mercer county northbound past exit 7a, that's for i-195, watch for that.

it has cleared and reopened but two accidents on the turnpikes involving tractor-trailers, a difficult situation this morning, at least in new jersey it has cleared right now. in mount laurel burlington county mount laurel reopened between union mill road and wood view drive. water main break is clear. it was closed all day yesterday. let's take a look at your wind right now t it's rather gusty at times today, up to about 25 miles an hour, currently just 14 miles per hour in philadelphia, then wilmington, eight trenton, 13 along the coast but if it's trash day for you, you may see that debris on the roadway. eva. >> thanks karen. developing this morning a strong shallow earthquake shook southwestern china killing at least one person injuring more than 300 and damaging dozens of buildings. the quake hit a little before 10:00 last night china time when most residents would have been in their homes. the magnitude 6.6 quake was followed by eight aftershocks. troops have rushed into the area to search for victims. an air tanker spraying a

wildfire in yosemite national park in california slammed into a canyon wall killing the pilot. witnesses say they heard a loud explosion and looked up and saw fiery pieces of the plane falling from the steep canyon wall yesterday afternoon and rescue crews found the wreckage and confirmed the death of the pilot. so far the fire has scorched more than a hundred acres and forced an evacuation of a community in the park. >> the flyers open the season tonight against the bruins in boston. winger wayne simmonds practiced this week on his injured left foot. he's hoping to play tonight. the flyers lost to the new york rangers in seven games in the first round of the playoffs last season. coach craig berube is on the bench to start what will be his first full season. saint louis cardinals earned their fourth straight strip to the national league championship series. matt adams hit this three run homer off dodgers pitcher clayton kershaw. saint louis will host the san francisco giants in the first

and the turnpike. you're looking good. but a new issue in cherry hill, new jersey. the ramp from 295 northbound to 70 eastbound, watch for this. we've got an accident, a single vehicle accident, just kind of spun out of control. it's off to the side. the ramp is opened at this point but watch for that on roads in some spots just a little bit damp but enough we're getting a spinout accident. looking live at i-95 and looking pretty good, dave. >> all right, karen. on the big board we have temperatures in the low 60's right now, a little breezy out there. 64 by 9 o'clock, so it stays rather cool early on. but we will start to get rid of those clouds as we go through the next several hours and most of the day looks lots of sunshine and inn store for us. looks like it's going have that. 70 degrees by noon. 75 is your high today at 3 o'clock. the other part of the story today is that there's going to be a blustery wind blowing with gusts up between 25 and 30 miles per hour at times as we roll through the day. rolling down to the airport, looks like green aircraft on all of our major travel cities and we're not detecting any rain in any of our most frequently traveled

destinations with that cold front and overnight thunderstorms now off the coast. eva. >> thanks, david. a new government report says americans are living longer than ever before. not only has life expectancy reached a record high of 78.8 years death rates have fallen. the infant mortality rate dropped slightly in large part tour a 13 percent drop in deaths from sids. the 10 leading causes of death are the same with heart disease and cancer topping the list. the suicide rate rose more than 2%. it turns out how much coffee you drink is in your dna and now scientists have identified the genes that lead to higher coffee consumption. some of the genes affect how the body processes caffeine and how stimulating the effect others arc the brain signals that make drinking coffee pleasurable. scientists were surprised though the find none of the genetic differences affected how people felt about the taste. >> we are about to explain what it means to leave prices up to god. but first a look at your
