state police say that a school bus set off a chain reaction crash, but the big story on "action news" tonight. is the death of texas ebola patient, thomas duncan, the 42-year-old duncan died this morning at a hospital in dallas. duncan came to the u.s. from liberia on september 20th but he when to the hospital five days later feeling sick and went back three days after that with more severe symptoms and they diagnosed him with ebola. and there say second possible case, a sheriff's deputy arriving from frisco from dallas today. the patient claims to have had contact with duncan. >> and fire airports including newark and jfk and philadelphia will soon take the temperatures of travellers coming in from west africa, sara bloomquist is live at the pennsylvania convention center where there is

an infectious disease conference coming up. ebola is on the minds of everybody there. >> reporter: this week infectious disease experts from across the globe are discussing all kinds of infections from mrsa to aids, but the talks about ebola are drawing the largest crowds. it was standing room only on the conference for ebola with the representatives from the world health organization and the center for disease control, talking about ebola in west africa. dr. fowler spent the last few months in west africa at the front lines trying to contain the outbreak. >> we need more people on the ground, from u.s. and canada and western europe to provide men and care. >> today they announced enhanced screenings for ebola at five u.s. airports.

screenings of patients leaving west africa are already affective and restricting travel from west africa could have a detrimental affect. >> it keeps people from responding and preventing people from responding to help there. >> he urges these disease experts to remain on guard to emerge outside of the africa, something he thinks is inevitable. and they have a new appreciation for the challenges that health care workers are facing. >> i think i have a great respect for their efforts to try and intervene and bring people to treatment. >> now, the experts here were asked about the projections that the hundreds of thousands and maybe a million people could be affected by ebola before it's brought under control. they are optimistic that the virus could be maintained and

to snort the drug in their kitchen. >> i have kids and such, and supremes you need to be a better role model. >> i read this story of a mother introducing her daughter to a drug like heroin, i am at a loss for words. >> the addiction progressed through the summer and the family would soon be making daily trips to north philly to buy heroin, davenport would inject her daughter and her 16-year-old boyfriend on the ride home. an 8-year-old stepbrother would be in the car and watched the terrifying plunge into a drug stupor. >> his life at a young age is deeply impacted. davenport was exposed when the teen notified administration on the first day of school and the nurse saw the teens needle marks and authorities were immediately contacted. >> fortunately for this young

new jersey state supreme court justice lee solman was sworn in tonight. including five years at camden county prosecutor, he was a republican confirmed back in june and he will serve a seven year term. the two candidates to pennsylvania governor are square off in pittsburgh and "action news" reporter, john rawlin, is live, and according to the poll results released yesterday governor corbett has a lot of ground to make up against wolf. >> that is from quinnipiac and it's a slight uptick, and it is really the latest in a long line of bad polling numbers for the incumbent. if anyone needed a november turn around it's tom corbett.
