hispanic or black males wearing ski masks. they had a hand gun, stun gun and large butcher-style knife. >> and they focused on the code to open the safe. >> tell us one thing and one thing only, they asked who the manager was and wanted the money in the safe. >> the police have not said how much money was taken. we are told it was in excess of $10,000. and the bar management had no comment. finally, the thieves stole this bright yellow mustang from one of the workers dumped in the 3000 block of gary road in northeast philadelphia. police are hoping that someone -- >> heard or saw the car in the area and saw the males exit the vehicle. maybe provide us with what house they went to, what direction they went. maybe they dropped some items in the area. >> or whether they got into another car. >> yes, there would be another car there. >> and the lieutenant says it is possible one of the robbers here is either named or goes by the

the trip and that is where they say they purchased items from migu migu miguel ortiz at a discounted rate. and they led them to a home and they believe the threats occurred over a heard of time. the men arraigned and jail on $75,000 bail. as concerns over ebola and enterovirus d68 grow, officials are stepping up efforts to combat the viruses. and ali gorman joins us live in abington with more on the prevention efforts. hi, ali. >> a doctor evaluated a man for ebola months ago. he had no symptoms but worked in liberia. the state department told him to be screened. that patient was completely cleared, but that is what prompted the doctors here to make a plan. the doctor shows me protocols they have to identify ebola.

he says all medical centers, big and small, must be prepared. and the mistake made in texas when thomas duncan was first sent home despite having search toms and recent travel from liberia was a huge lesson learned. >> it was a very important lesson and it clearly shows the failure points within our system of being able to capture people who are at-risk and who may be harboring or carrying the ebola virus in our own country. >> now he believes the medical centers are more aware and ready. airports are also on the front lines to control ebola. airports with flights to and from affected areas there screen passengers. at philadelphia international if any travel includes a stop in west africa, travellers are given this informational flyer and questioned about symptoms and possible exposure. if ebola is suspected, the traveller will be moved to the guard an -- station.

and they are on the look for for enterovirus d68, affecting children across the country and linked to five deaths. saying parents should be on alert the enterovirus d68 starts like the common cold but can progress. >> it can develop to an ammonia-type position, difficulty breathing, shortness of death and muscle weakness or if fatigue. >> and those are signs the child needs to see a health care provider right ray -- away. and the flu can cause sickness and even death but now we have a vaccine for that. the pirnts -- parents much a mercer county boy who died of

enterovirus. they are giving back. today his dad, andrew, announced the first day in school organization. he is over joyed by the support the foundation already received. >> i am determined to make something good out of this tragedy and the way that happens is with all of your help. >> the fund will provide support for special education students. eli was the youngest of triplets. members of the philadelphia federal ration of teachers protested outside of this school in germantown today days after their contracts were canceled by the school reform commission. the action forces teachers to contribute to their own health care costs. the district says the move will save $54 million the first year. the school district dealing with a drastic short fall. the teachers have been bargaining for a new contract almost two years with no pay raise.

a convicted double murderer says that he would rather get the death penalty than hear arguments in court trying to share his life. but jurors did hear testimony from both sides today in the sentencing phase of raghu yandamuri. and at the courthouse with more, david? >> yeah, monica. it was an emotionally-wrenching day for the jurors and everybody in the courtroom this afternoon. hearing the anguished words of mr. venna losing his baby girl and mother. and he went to the apartment at lunchtime after his wife was not able to meet his mother by home. satayrathi venna babysitting her granddaughter, satayrathi. and he got there and found his mother dead on the floor and baby missing. and raghu yandamuri a family friend now facing the death penalty after the jury found him guilty yesterday of two counts of first-degree murder.

the jury is hearing the penalty phase testimony. and venna and his brother testified. and he said he can't trust anyone now and can't sleep with visions of his baby's love and mother's crime scene. >> it is heart breaking in many respects. they have been through so much with this case. it has been two years of dealing with this. and as you might expect, it's going affect people in a dramatic way. >> before the jury was in the courtroom, yandamuri told the judge he didn't want to go through with the penalty phase, saying i would rather take the death penalty. but the judge persuaded him to allow his court-appointed lawyers to try to save his life. >> ultimately the theory is going to be that this was an act that occurred that was terrible and unforgivable but not borne out of an evil person. that he is not the worst of the worst. >> as for his wish for the death
