the trip and that is where they say they purchased items from migu migu miguel ortiz at a discounted rate. and they led them to a home and they believe the threats occurred over a heard of time. the men arraigned and jail on $75,000 bail. as concerns over ebola and enterovirus d68 grow, officials are stepping up efforts to combat the viruses. and ali gorman joins us live in abington with more on the prevention efforts. hi, ali. >> a doctor evaluated a man for ebola months ago. he had no symptoms but worked in liberia. the state department told him to be screened. that patient was completely cleared, but that is what prompted the doctors here to make a plan. the doctor shows me protocols they have to identify ebola.

enterovirus. they are giving back. today his dad, andrew, announced the first day in school organization. he is over joyed by the support the foundation already received. >> i am determined to make something good out of this tragedy and the way that happens is with all of your help. >> the fund will provide support for special education students. eli was the youngest of triplets. members of the philadelphia federal ration of teachers protested outside of this school in germantown today days after their contracts were canceled by the school reform commission. the action forces teachers to contribute to their own health care costs. the district says the move will save $54 million the first year. the school district dealing with a drastic short fall. the teachers have been bargaining for a new contract almost two years with no pay raise.

a convicted double murderer says that he would rather get the death penalty than hear arguments in court trying to share his life. but jurors did hear testimony from both sides today in the sentencing phase of raghu yandamuri. and at the courthouse with more, david? >> yeah, monica. it was an emotionally-wrenching day for the jurors and everybody in the courtroom this afternoon. hearing the anguished words of mr. venna losing his baby girl and mother. and he went to the apartment at lunchtime after his wife was not able to meet his mother by home. satayrathi venna babysitting her granddaughter, satayrathi. and he got there and found his mother dead on the floor and baby missing. and raghu yandamuri a family friend now facing the death penalty after the jury found him guilty yesterday of two counts of first-degree murder.

the jury is hearing the penalty phase testimony. and venna and his brother testified. and he said he can't trust anyone now and can't sleep with visions of his baby's love and mother's crime scene. >> it is heart breaking in many respects. they have been through so much with this case. it has been two years of dealing with this. and as you might expect, it's going affect people in a dramatic way. >> before the jury was in the courtroom, yandamuri told the judge he didn't want to go through with the penalty phase, saying i would rather take the death penalty. but the judge persuaded him to allow his court-appointed lawyers to try to save his life. >> ultimately the theory is going to be that this was an act that occurred that was terrible and unforgivable but not borne out of an evil person. that he is not the worst of the worst. >> as for his wish for the death

jersey right now. hammington right now just dealing with a shower. the garden state parkway a little wet. zooming in closer the steadiest rain across lbi, down to beach haven. a preview of the rain moving through in the overnight hours. the highlights show a 50-50 weekend. the rain will be here for saturday morning, but we will be drying out nicely in time for the eagles' game. this is futuretracker showing how much rain we expect between now and through saturday morning. you can see areas north of philadelphia missing out on the bulk of the rain. allentown a quarter inch, philadelphia getting around an inch of rain. we need the rain. it is a shame it is coming during the weekend though. the good news is, heading to the eagles' game sunday will be a dry day. but there will be a fall chill if you're going to the link, i suggest you bundle up. at 8:30 the kickoff temperature 58 degrees.

by the fourth quarter dropping down to about 55. in philadelphia it is 60 degrees. the high, 61. that is 8 degrees below normal. so it was definitely a somewhat dreary and cool day. allentown 58. sea isle city 60 and wilmington 59 degrees. satellite 6 along with action radar showing the clouds are here. a little bit of sunshine earlier today, and you can see the light, scattered showers. but then there is a void in the "action news" radar until you get to how. so -- to ohio. most of the even is rain-free. and a few spotty showers are possible especially across southern new jersey and delaware. and it fills in in the overnight hours. unfortunately 8:00 in the morning you see a pretty good coverage of rain and some heavy rain, especially along the i-95 corridor and areas to the south. again like last saturday, by
