good morning. >> and it's going to be a big weather day across the region. start you with storm tracker 6 live double scan, not a lot of rain, a sprinkle over the delaware bay perhaps pushing up into cumberland county. we have to wait until later today for this line to push slowly toward the east and then eventually we will see some rain here. you can see that it's a large system. again, moving toward the east rather slowly. we'll probably be on the lookout for the first precipitation to march up through the chesapeake bay but it will be later tonight that this main line pushes through the region and in both cases we could see some heavy downpours. so, lots of stuff on the way and the big issue i think would be the heavy rain. 71 degrees is your current temperature in philadelphia, how about that. 71 at this early hour. same thing in wilmington and allentown. 72 in millville, upper 60's down the shore. it still feels a little bit huggy like yesterday. dewpoints are in the mid 60's across most of the region bordering 69 in dover, that's borderline oppressive

>> no, i think our main threat will be heavy downpours today and tonight. storm tracker 6 double scan shows us we're basically dry across the region. there's one little sprinkle trying to push up into cumberland county off the delaware bay. that's hardly anything at all. over by baltimore there's some other stuff tracking up towards lancaster but not moving in our direction just yet. we have cloudy skies overhead with some breaks possible as we move through the early part of the day and then the clouds will get thicker later as will those heavy rain cells moving in. temperature currently is 71 degrees. we're starting out very mild this morning across the region. your dewpoint in the mid 60's. that indicates somewhat humid air and the winds out of the southeast at seven, not all that strong just yet. future tracker 6 lays out your day for you. looks like we're going to start out dry for the morning commute but as we get later into the morning, perhaps after 11 o'clock or so there is the chance of a first thrust of rain coming from the south and some of this could produce heavy downpours, perhaps gusty thunderstorms.
4:44 am
as we get later into the afternoon, even more pronounced showers and thunderstorm activity especially from about the center of the region over but even if you're over in trenton there's the possibilities of some stuff popping in and again, these are going to produce heavy downpours that could give you some poor drainage area flooding. the model right now is suggesting a little bit of a lull for the evening commute. i can't guarantee this but it is a possibility that things will die down a bit for a time. nonetheless the roads will still be very wet and there may be some debris on the roads. later into the evening and more showers and perhaps more thunderstorms build in just in time for adam joseph on channel 17 to show them to you on storm tracker 6 live double scan and of course cecily at 11:00 will likely have something to show you as well. looks like a decent amount of rain, the model showing pockets of over 3-inches. i think in general the idea of maybe 1 to 2 inches sounds pretty good with some areas going higher than that particularly where you manage to get several of those downpours. in terms of our risk assessment downpours and street flooding will be main issue, gusty winds possible

where you see a thunderstorm and looking at a pretty low chance of hail and tornadoes out of this system. 72 degrees by 8 o'clock. it's going to be very warm, and muggy all the way. getting up to 79 for a high around 2:00 and probably holding that 79 through 3 o'clock. high temperatures across the region everybody getting warm. mid 70's at the shore, mid 70's up in allentown. upper 70's in. other parts of the region. tomorrow, well, in the wee hours of thursday morning you're probably going the hear some more rumbles of thunder but by 4:30 when we're on the air we're down to a little bit more sketchy stuff and that looks like it will be gone tomorrow by the end of the rush hour. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, today's high is seventy one degrees. we do have those potential for heavy downpours and thunderstorms moving in during the late morning and afternoon hours and continuing off and on through the evening. tomorrow rain ends early, 72 is the high. perhaps late day sunshine and then friday's looking great, 70. saturday lots of sun, 69. still looks like it's going to be cooler on sunday all the way down to 59 the way things look now but it is still dry.
