creeping in from the delaware bay into cumberland county perhaps heading up into gloucester county over the next half hour. that's nothing. this stuff over to the west by baltimore is all tracking up towards lancaster for now so the morning commute does look dry but the wider view on satellite and radar shows you that there is a big line of rain out to the west that's slowly creeping toward the east and i would like for some showers to start to pop up from the south and then eventually in from the west as we go into the late morning hours in through the afternoon off and on and then again later on tonight. some of these could bring heavy downpours. it's warm ann little bit muggy this morning. as matt mentioned still feeling like summer as you step outside. 70's degrees if philadelphia right now, 70 in allentown, 73 in reading, 69 in trenton, 70 in wilmington, upper 60's down the shore. as we head out to start the car or catch that school bus, 71 degrees by 6 o'clock, 72 by 8 o'clock, mainly dry partly cloudy and muggy as we go out the door early but as we roll through the day things do change. 74 by 9 o'clock, 77 by noon and by noon, some areas could start to pick up some showers or maybe even a thunderstorm

and then 3 o'clock 79, that is your high and it does look wet with some showers and thunderstorms building in. by 6 o'clock, we may reach a little bit of a lull but generally speaking the farther you get through the afternoon and in through tonight you have to be on the lookout for off and on heavy downpours. future tracker 6 with the latest look on how this is going to progress today. that's in a couple minutes. >> all right dave. weather is a problem for the evening commute but not the morning commute right now. looking live at the schuylkill expressway near girard that's eastbound traffic. the overnight construction we talked about is clear right now. you could see all lanes opened on the schuylkill and looking pretty good. and on the big picture, schuylkill reflecting speeds of about 50, 55 miles an hour. so, no problems there. later tonight in south philadelphia you're going to see a lot of congestion for fleetwood mac so watch for that. they've got sports express trains you can go ahead and take them to avoid some of the delay with the busyness there. 608 and 618 for sports express trains. 202 at 29 northbound construction has been in the process of clearing out there. it's off to the right side but

should be wrapping up any moment so not causing a big problem at this point on 202, matt and tam. >> thank you, karen. all new here at 5:00 a.m. we're learning new details about a graphic be in what some may describe as disturbing antiabortion rally set to take place right outside the liberty bell this week. erin o'hearn is tracking these new developments live in the satellite center. >> matt this an emotional issue as well as a controversy sal issue. this latest move by an antiabortion group is likely to raise some major questions about how it has decided to execute its message. now starting this friday the group created equal will begin broadcasting abortions in progress using a large jumbo tv screen in several locations. the ohio based group has received a permit to project extremely graphic images next to the liberty bell. the images will be on a continuous loop from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on friday. the group's national director says he is aware independence

mall is a big draw for families with children. so, there will be warning signs so parents can avoid the images. now, a public affairs officer for the independence national historical park says the agency does not consider content when it permits assemblies or activities which in itself should be -- or could be a concern for the families traveling to that area since it is a huge draw this landmark and again very graphic images planned to be broadcast in this area. i'm going to put this story on my facebook page and of course we welcome your comments and perhaps we'll put some of them on the 6abc.com page. i'm erin o'hearn live in the sat center. back to you. >> going to get a lot of comments. thank you, erin. this is breaking right now a-second healthcare worker at texas health presbyterian hospital in dallas who provided care for the first ebola patient diagnosed in the u.s. has tested positive for

the disease. that is in addition to nurse nina pham who recently contracted the deadly disease. we will have a full report on this breaking story calling into question a lot of the procedures taking place at that dallas hospital coming up at 5:30 a.m. >> it is now 5:05 and developing this morning police are looking for the gunman who fired off a barrage of bullets in a philadelphia neighborhood and ended with two people wounded and the search is on for a murder suspect who tried to run down two officers. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live at police headquarters after a busy night. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, tam, that's right, it was another busy night for philadelphia police. we have two cases to tell you about so i'm just going to dive right in. let's start in northeast philadelphia where a suspect that police were looking for in a previous homicide nearly hit two 15th district officers with a car. the officers escaped without injury. police didn't specify which case this homicide suspect is connected to but around 3:00 a.m. on the 2600 block of

elbridge street, police say the suspect nearly hit the two officers. he fled in a 2001 pearl colored pontiac grand prix with rear bumper damage. he was last seen heading east on bridge street from aramingo. the second case i'll tell you about is out of olney. an argument and ended with at least 20 shots fired. two men are in the hospital. they're both in stable condition. 911 calls lit up the lines around 12:30 this morning. when police arrived to third and whelan street they found a large crowd an lot of shell casings scattered across the street. two men went to einstein by private vehicles. a 20-year-old man, he was grazed in the chest and a 23-year-old man who was shot in the hip. again, they are both in stable condition. four parked cars were hit by bullets. bullets hit three homes on whelan but no one inside those homes was hit. >> one of the homes the bullet actually went in through the living room wall, entered through the siding, went into the living room wall of this

occupied property where a husband and a wife and a 23-year-old daughter fortunately luckily were upstairs asleep at the time. >> reporter: there are several surveillance cameras nearby that shooting scene in olney so police are hoping they can get more details from some footage but of course they have to look at that footage first before they know what they've got. if you have any information on either of these cases police want too hear from you. we're live from police headquarters, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> okay, katherine, thank you for that. and philadelphia police are looking for the suspect in a home invasion that happened along the 1600 block of reed street in the lawndale section at 8:00 p.m. police say the armed man barged into the home tied up and assaulted one person and ran off with about $5,100. the victim was not seriously hurt. >> a montgomery county jury spent only four hours to decide that raghunandan yandamuriian should be executed for his crime. the 28-year-old convicted killer took a sip of water while the jury announced its verdict last night.

the same jury convicted yandamuri of killing 10 month old saanvi venna and her 61 year old grandmother. prosecutors say he murdered them during a botched kidnapping. the judge will issue yandamuri's officials sentence in about 45 days. >> let's turn to dave murphy now. it will be very rainy by the end of the day. >> yeah, in fact later this morning i think some areas anyway could start to pick up the first of these downpours. storm tracker 6 live double scan shows us we are mainly dry across the region and that is going to be the case in most areas for the morning commute. as we take a look outside, we have cloudy skies and that rain is getting ready to push up from the south and eventually ride in from the west but no problems other than maybe a sprinkle down in south jersey this morning. 70 degrees currently in philadelphia, 70 in wilmington. mid october but feeling like a couple months ago. 70 in allentown it's also a little bit muggy out there. upper 60's down in sea isle city. future tracker 6 showing you how the rain is going to progress today. by the way i have put a day planner in.

you can kind of get the idea of how we're going get wetter as the day goes on. as we get into 11, 12 o'clock you can see the western suburbs have a chance of starting to pick up a heavy downpour producing shower or maybe a gusty thunderstorm. can't totally rule out philadelphia picking up some of this as well. remember, this is just a model projection on how this is going to go but it does give you the idea and then we get into 2, 3 o'clock and there's an even better chance of this stuff pushing over toward philadelphia in through much of south jersey and in through delaware and up in the lehigh valley as well. again, heavy downpours would be a big concern out of this but maybe some gusty winds, too. future tracker is easing back to the precip for the evening commute although roads will still be pretty wet and there could be some lingering ponding and puddling and we can't totally rule out something popping up in the center of the region. later in the nighttime period and between 10 and 11 o'clock when adam and cecily will be on the air you can see how there's the chance of yet another round of showers and thunderstorms so this is going to be an off and on periods of rain kind of event but overall

it is going to produce a fair amount of rain. today through thursday morning in fact we're looking at some models showing us close to 2-inches of rain. in general i think we'll go with the ideas of maybe three-quarters an inch about to an inch and a half in most areas. maybe a little more where you pick up thunderstorms. afternoon rain and thunderstorms, 76 degrees is the forecast high there. down the shore we're going to pick up some showers and thunderstorms as we go later into the morning and afternoon and night, 74 is the high in atlantic city. muggy and warm there as well. and in philadelphia, we'll go for a high today of 79 degrees, warm and humid, clouds and sun early but then clouding up in the afternoon with that chance of heavy rain cells popping through at times and maybe a gusty thunderstorm as well. and temperatures are going to stay muggy and warm all day long. we're at 72 by 8:00, 2 o'clock we'll probably hit our high of 79 and then just kind of sit on that for awhile. tomorrow, well, at 4:30 when we hit the air waves there could be lingering showers or perhaps a thunderstorm but it does look like by the end of the rush hour this is pretty

cloudy skies at this point. let's give you the update here on this accident in new castle county. chump man's road at continental drive. this accident is clear. all lanes back opened so it was an early morning accident that's just cleared out and looking pretty good right now. speeds overall in new jersey right now, we're looking at 42 about 55 miles an hour. 55 northbound heading into 42, 56. kind of flying along that curve so watch for that. other than that you see the green traffic flow everywhere. you're looking good to go. let's check out our live camera shot. this is 422 near 29. that's eastbound traffic right there moving fine if you're coming in from collegeville headed towards oaks we're not seeing a problem at this points on 422 so traffic looking good for you. let's check your commuter traffic report. this is the one you get to be a part of when you download the free waze app. we can check all the different suburbs here looking in drexel hill upper darby, media, not seeing any problems. baltimore pike moving smoothly. you can see in east goshen no problems so we've got kind of an easy so far morning commute for you. let's check the temperatures.

68 degrees right now in quakertown. it's 72 in pottstown. it's 69 in coatesville. 69 in saint davids. already 70 degrees in center city. feeling like summer out there. 71 in hammonton and in dover. we've been talking about the rain, the heaviest, the steadiest comes late today into tonight so watch for that for your evening commute. we could even see thunderstorms later on today and tonight. 79 degrees for your high today, tam. >> thank you karen. going on, pennsylvania state police commissioner says he's very concerned that suspected cop killer eric frein will try to kill again. commissioner frank noonan seen here at a news conference last month made the comments to lawmakers in harrisburg yesterday while updating them on the search for frein. police believe frein is hiding in a heavily wooded area in the poconos near his parents' home in the town of canadensis. investigators say frein shot and killed a state police officer and wounded another on september 12th outside of a state police barracks. also a hearing is scheduled today for the

10-year-old boy from wayne county, pa, accused of murdering a 90-year-old woman. this happened in the town of tyler hill. police say the child held a cane against helen novak's throat then repeatedly punched her while in bed. investigators say the boy got angry for yelling at her. the boy is being charged as an adult held without bail n court papers the mother stated her son has mental difficulties and he had been violent in the past. >> the flyers are still looking for their first win of the season. they dropped their second straight game in a shootout. anaheim ducks scored twice in the shootout last night skating away from the wells fargo center with a four to three win. the flyers are winless in their if first four game of season for only the fourth time in franchise history. they're off to their worst start since starting zero-three-one in 2008. >> it is 5:17 and forget plaque friday. one retailer announced it is opening its doors really, really early on thanksgiving.

>> welcome back. let's check that traffic. we've got a new accident just coming in in oxford in chester county so watch for it right now. this is route 10 old limestone road which is now shut down in both directions at 926 because of this accident just in. you can take homeville road instead as your alternate. let's check the overall transit. things looking good right now with no delays as you're heading out the door early. david has been talking about there problems that we will see with weather for your evening commute. the morning commute, dave, you're tracking a couple showers out there and that's it, hm. >> yeah, that's it and they're mailly down in south jersey falling apart. big rain out to the west. you see a cluster coming up from the south producing lightning strikes. as we go later into the morning and afternoon we'll be on the lookout for periods of heavy rain. dressing the kids with a t-shirt this morning because

we're in the 70's to start out. this afternoon rain gear a good idea and remind the kids if it's really thundering and lightning they want to stay inside let that pass. 74 degrees is your temperature by 9 o'clock. we're already in the low 70's. 77 by noon and by 3 o'clock looking at a high of 79 degrees. we'll probably hit that around 2 o'clock and just sit on it for awhile and any time after later morning hours into noon look for rain to 12. there will be periods of heavy rain, maybe a thunderstorm mixed in at times during the afternoon and tonight. as we take a look at the airport so far so good at most of our major destinations with green aircraft indicate nothing major delays. out in chicago, however, we are looking at rain right now, tam. >> thank you david. going on to health check a new study finds it may take a few fries to get an appointment with a psychiatrist regardless of your insurance status. researchers use blue cross/blue shield's web site to find in network psychiatric providers in boston houston and chicago. the researchers were only able to contact 33 percent of the 360 providers that they called

followed by another 26 percent on a second attempt to contact those who did not initially answer. on average, the appointments also came with a one month wait. two new studies are the first to show that using embryonic stem cells to treat blindness does appear to be safe. researchers followed 18 patients for up to three years after treatment. 10 patients reportd that they could see better with the treated eye than the other one. no safety problems were detected. researchers say the next step will be to prove the stem cell treatments do actually work. >> the race to be the first retailer to open for black friday is once again bleeding into the day before. thanks give. abc's t.j. holmes has america's money. >> reporter: good morning. topping america's money is it too soon to talk about holiday shopping? nah not if you're macy's. chain's doors will open at 6:00 p.m. on thanksgiving day, two hours earlier than last year. macy's workers on thanksgiving night will be off black friday. some good news about heating your home this winter especially those relying on heating oil. low oil prices could mean
