now from this vantage point and no lightning strikes north and west just a steady rain in much of lancaster and chester county and all the way up to northern buck county and the lehigh valley just wet roadways, we had heavy rain pass through early this afternoon, so far up to 2 inches from lancaster and into downtown reading and north into pottsville and because of that the streams are running high and just the flood advisory for a few hours with ponding on the roadways. it's tropical and warm, 71 in millville and 72 in allentown, and a little bit cooler to the west, coming in at 65. everyone is feeling the tropical humidity, with dew points of 70 and 72 in dover, this is more typical of july and august, and this is why the rain is so

especially north of the city with the rain coming down at times pretty heavily and that continues all the way west into lancaster county and berks county. lets look live from the pagoda cam in reading, you can't see all that much because of the low clouds and the high humidity and the combination of the rain that continues to fall. as we look at the rainfall totals in lancaster, we see over 2.5 inches of rain this afternoon in reading, closing in close to 2 inches of rain and philadelphia less than a half inch and pottstown and wilmington around a quarter inch of rain. it's really the pockets that you see the heavier downpours that give you a quick inch of rain and not everyone is going to see that. as we look at double scan live, there is still moisture to the south that will eventually spin up through our region before a cold front clears it tomorrow morning. we'll time it in the accuweather forecast when the heaviest of rain passes through tonight and

all right meteorologist, adam joseph is along now, it's raining out there. >> it's a wet wednesday, it's raining out there and midweek blues it will clear up for the rest of the week and looking good out there. as we look at that wet drive this evening on double scan live radar, drying a little bit south of the city and mainly northwest and northeast. seeing downpours again no thunderstorms with the atmosphere and clouds today, and on and off rain destabilizes the atmosphere. near valley and boyer town near berks county and montgomery county seeing some of those downpours, moving at speeds of 40 miles per hour in general and

that is on the fringe of the lehigh valley, and route 22. and east around trenton and mercer county and heavy downpours in buck county east and south of doylestown and doylestown you are on the edge of the heavy rain heading into new hope and lambertville. temperature wise we are in the upper 60s to low 70s, 72 millville and dover, and wilmington 71 and it's that tropical-like summer humidity that we are feeling the last 24 hours that is helping to enhance the downpours that are more typical during the summer season, as you can see there is a break coming in and a round of rain coming in during the early evening hours and then the rain should shut off for a good three to four hours before more rain arrives after midnight. it's hit or miss tonight and on or off. and there is the upper level low that spins off, and as we track

the rain at 7:00, it lifts north of philadelphia, and at 10:00 or 11:00, patchy drizzle around and it reignites before the morning rush home at 5:30, if you leave the house before 4:30 and 5:30 and you'll encounter the heavy downpours and it's quick to really return that sunshine between 7:00 and 9:00 for tomorrow morning. as we look at what to expect here tomorrow night, periods of heavy rain and a gusty thunderstorms in one or two spots and ponding on the roadways with heavier rainfall, 1 to 2 inches on average and some isolated 3-inch amounts especially west of the city, like in berks county we saw 3 inches of rain already. showers and mild to start your thursday and in the afternoon some breaks of sun as we dry it out and temperatures still stay above average at 72.
