closed while crews remove the truck. one lane is getting by, and that is only the stuck traffic that is being let by at this point. once again all westbound traffic is forced off because of this tractor trailer that is jackknifed and hanging over the neshaminy creek. can you look for updates on our website at 6abc.com. new screening for the ebola virus began today at newark interests international airport in new jersey. this after questioning of the handling of a patient by nurses in the hospital in dallas. >> reporter: health officials are continuing their efforts to control is this virus this as the list of people with possible exposure grows.

amber vincent is now at emory hospital in atlantic, she is the second nurse at the dalles hospital to contract ebola. after caring for thomas eric duncan who died there last week. after the exposure she flew to planner wedding. >> if i was on that flight and i was in an enclosed space for her for three hours, that is enough reason for me to say i should be isolated and i should be quarantined. >> the cdc says vincent should not be flying. but abc news learned that she contacted cdc asked if she could be at the flight, and they gave

her permission even though she had a slight fever. they say she initially misdiagnosed duncan and made mistakes afterwards and failed to provide information. >> meanwhile there are three closed in the dallas area that are john thank you. officials are also explaining this video of amber vincent's hospital transfer that took the internet by storm. one man is standing by the tarmac without protective equipment. others are wearing hazmat suits and wheeling her in a suit as well on to her flight. they say that the man in plain clothes was a representative for the airline.

conditions, finally the rain is off to the north and east of philadelphia. it's not here any longer. as we look out on sky 6, we are dealing with cloud cover and oakley the sun breaks through over on the left hand portion of your screen, those of you watching on hd can see brightening on the left hand side of the bridge, every now and then the sun breaks through the clouds and we hope to see more and more of that. 65 is the current temperature and the dew point 36 and a lot of us in the mid-60s across the region and breezy at times and the winds out of the southwest not bad but 10 miles per hour in philadelphia. 64 in allentown and 62 in reading. mid-60s in wilmington, trenton, and at the shore we are up to 68 at the airport. and that main rain that came through overnight is up to the north along with the thicker clouds and you see a lot of cloud cover here, it is the sort that will probably give way and allow some sun in later on,

should that happen we'll get the temperatures up a bit and a high of 72 degrees in allentown and i'm posting a shower and it's a small chance, it's light and quick, 70 is the high in atlantic city. clouds mixing out with some sun and drying out and feeling comfortable down the shore when the rain was coming down. 72 is your high in philadelphia, clouds mixing with sun and a spotty shower can't be ruled out but the day is largely dry for most of you and the wins are out of the southwest at 7 to 14 miles per hour, not all that strong. tonight cooler with a low of 56 degrees and partly cloudy skies and still above average and not too bad for an overnight low, for the evening commute not too bad, mainly dry conditions with clouds and sun and we'll get up to the low 70s by 4:00, and then be down to 70 on the nose by 5:30 and down to the mid-60s by 7:00, a falloff in temperatures

when the sun goes down, still flies and ahead of it we should see a fair amount of sunshine and mild conditions with a high around 70, with the front coming through on saturday, behind it cooler air is behind it for sunday. tomorrow looking like a great day here but not so much in bermuda, because hurricane gonzalo, that is still a category 4, and winds that strengthened up to 140 and some cases higher than that is on a straight track to go to bermuda and arriving on friday afternoon. so tomorrow afternoon rough conditions for bermuda and it will be a category 3, first time since 2003 that bermuda has seen a storm that strong. and we are partly sunny and 70 and saturday a mix of sun and clouds and 70 is the high and a front will be coming through triggering that and behind the

into the united states. about 150 people travel daily from liberia, sierra leone and guinea to the united states. karen travers is here with more. >> reporter: just a few moments ago that abc news learned that nina pham will be transferred to the national institute of health here outside of washington, d.c. in bethesda, maryland. but the fears around the country are growing and medical experts say that the way to combat that through facts. the facts are clear, ebola is not easily transmitted but that has not stopped the concerns across the nation. >> president obama tried to reassure americans about the dangers of ebola. >> the dangers of you contracting ebola and the

dangers of an outbreak are extraordinarily low. but the fears are spreading farther than the actual virus. there are two students from dallas that were on the same flight as amber vincent. the district decided to close an elementary and middle school today as a precaution and at least two of the 132 passengers are voluntarily quarantining themselves. i washed all my clothes and cleaned my luggage and keeping everyone completely away from my house. and three of vincent's relatives are employed by the university. and they have asked them to stay home for the 21 day period for the self monitoring. >> those precautions put us in a situation that we are at low

risk on our campus. and congress is calling on bans from travel to countries with the ebola outbreak and officials say these are based on fear and not science. >> you only get ebola if you have contact with bodily fluid. >> but you can get the flu from casual contact, so they are urging americans to get the flu shot, because that is a more immediate threat. >> thank you karen. officials in philadelphia are set to meet today to discuss the ebola virus, and if we are prepared for possible cases here. "action news" reporter david henry joins us here from city hall with more on that. >> good afternoon this is a joint hearing with the city council public safety and public health committees, they want to know who is doing what to prepare for a possible ebola

case popping up here. the head of the health committee says this is an effort to tamp down fear by getting to the facts. >> we need the factses out there so i can choose what level a threat actually is. >> the two nurses affected by the ebola in dallas are 1300 miles away from philadelphia but fear of ebola has sfred here and across the country and cities like philadelphia have to be prepared to handle an ebola case. it has one of the largest populations from liberia, the kubt hardest hit by the ebola virus. there will be representatives of several hospitals and the airline. it's a chance for various agencies to spring board off each other with ideas and they have questions about safety and treatment. >> all the questions we'll ask

delays and all westbound traffic is forced off at the bristol interchange and on to route 13. the turnpike will be closed in this area until police can remove that truck. now the truck's saddle tank was ruptured in the crash and the fuel is leaking into the creek below, crews are on scene trying to contain it. stay with us for updates on the traffic situation and get more information on 6abc.com. a driver was killed this morning in a rollover crash on the schuylkill expressway, it happened just after 5:00 a.m. on the eastbound lanes between the montgomery drive and girard exits. the accident backed up traffic on and around the schuylkill for hours, the cause of the one vehicle crash is unknown and the driver has not yet been identified . two armed men made off with an entire cash register in a 7-eleven in wissinoming.

it happened here near torresdale. nobody was hurt in the robbery and police are reviewing surveillance video. turning to the forecast now the skies are clearing after last night's intense rain, lets look live at sky 6 hd looking at penn's landing and the ben franklin bridge. a few clouds out there but a lot better. david murphy is now at the big board with a look at how much rain fell overnight. >> they were impressive the farther north and west you were. we are precipitation free except for that big cluster of heavy rain that is thankfully well off the coast, a heavy downpour in some parts of region in the afternoon and then into the night, can you see how most of the heavy rain highlighted with the yellow, oranges and reds and darker shades of green missed philadelphia and went through the western suburbs, it was off the coast according to what we showed you yesterday.

that is one good thing about it it departed on time. 3.89 inches in lancaster, that is almost 4, over 3 officially in reading, and over 2.5 in the poconos and 1.5 in allentown and an inch in philadelphia. some areas shy of that in areas closer to the i-95 corridor. some twitter followers are reporting high numbers, this is cody in lees port, pennsylvania, look at the red float, that is showing more than 3 inches of rain in his backyard, no surprise given the numbers i showed you. reading yesterday actually went for a record, 2.98 inches of rain until midnight. that means yesterday set a daily record for rainfall on that date and the official total was higher than that in reading because the rain kept going after mid nitd. yes there is cloud cover there,
