possible ebola patient. the doctor is 33 years old and his name is craig allen spencer, he was in guinea, africa working with doctors without borders treating patients affected with ebola, he returned last tuesday, october 14th, his flight path was from new guinea to brussels and into new york. the doctor called 911 and was transported from his upper manhattan apartment just before noon by an especially trained hazmat unit. it's equipped with personal protective gear to treat hazardous situations, he was taken to bellevue hospital in manhattan and that is where he is being evaluated and treated and the commissioner of health issued a statement saying that this hospital is prepared to handle a case of ebola if this is to be confirmed as such.

in this release it reeded in part, that bellevue hospital is designated as the designation and treatment of possible ebola patients by the city and state. new york city is taking all necessary precautions to assure the health and safety of all new yorkers, we could know as early as this evening, tonight, if this is a confirmed case, for sure in the next 12 hours, they are working to trace all of those that may have been in contact with this doctor. they want to take all the precautions as necessary. it's a serious matter as it is developing. >> thank you sharrie. more breaking news now, from west philadelphia where a septa police officer is injured trying to break up a fight between students, it happened at the 46th street station at the l, a fight involving several girls, and responding someone punched him in the head, and he was taken to the hospital and no word on the extent of his

as we said at the top of the newscast, a doctor in new york city is monitored for ebola like symptoms tonight and there are no cases in our area but training continues for those that occur, and today first responders today in camden county went over their emergency plans, ali gorman was at the meeting and she joins us with more from the big board. >> the hope is we won't see cases here but all case workers have to be prepared so they know what to expect and how to respond if they come in contact with someone that may have ebola, that was the goal today in camden county. >> the first day or two of symptoms, experts from cooper health and camden county health department led for first responders and what to do if

someone in the county is suspected of having it. the training included a demonstration on donning personal protection equipment. in camden county, the case is considered to be high risk of ebola like the patient is vomiting or bleeding or having other ebola symptoms and recently traveled to an affected country then the hazmat team is called. it takes several responders to address one person covering all exposed skin, there is no ebola in our area but infectious disease doctor henry roman -- >> they may come in contact with these patients first, the better informed you are and the better you can protect yourself and do your job appropriately. as for if we will see more cases in the united states, the risk of an ongoing outbreak here but
