union were back today, david ry is live now at the windham hotel. >> reporter: neither side says they are close. they have stopped the negotiations for today. they say that the fact they are talking and continue to talk is a good sign. but union sources tell us that things are not going well. not a good sign for people who rely on septa every day. >> i'm the unlucky one, i can't go to work if they go on strike. >> a lot of people will be out of luck if they park the trolleys, trains and buses if septa goes on strike. brown says he will give commuters 24 hours notice but the smart money says the strike won't happen until after election day on tuesday.

the transit workers are backing tom wolf for governor and this strike could suppress the democratic vote depriving the numbers that wolf needs in philadelphia to carry the state. they are talking face-to-face all afternoon and union sources say that a strike is looking more likely if they don't make progress soon. union members prepare picket signs at union hall and are distributed to members throughout the city. members are preparing contingency plans. >> i have to drive or catch the regional train. it will cost much more plus you have to park, so it will be hard. >> a lot of issues for commuters to deal with. both sides will be back here talking again tomorrow and we'll know by the end of the day tomorrow if the union will
