>> good morning, it is 6:00 a.m., saturday, november 1. here's some of the stories we're following on "action news." a late-night deal is announced to keep the septa drivers on the job. a woman is hit by two cars near temple hospital overnight. now the search is on for one of the drivers who took off. the mega millions jackpot continues to grow. we have word on how much it will be worth for the next drawing. chris sowers joins us we'll get the accuweather forecast. i don't think we hit the jackpot as far as weather. >> reporter: no we've certainly seen better weather. let's get you outside, we're looking at the camden waterfront. a coastal flood advisory is in

effect for camden, cape may and atlantic counties this afternoon. winds will gust up to 30 miles per hour. we have a couple of batches of moisture on the heavier side one across the western portion of the south jersey, one on the shore, we'll go to the stuff in the western half of new jersey, first. you can see this little line that stretches west of philadelphia down into chester and west of gibbstown pushing toward the west. a little little batch of moisture is closer to the water, absecon, beach haven reporting moderate rain and atlantic city is getting wet and this extends north ward into surf city. this is tracking west as this area of low pressure intensifies or develops. it will sprawl out ward. we'll see cloud cover and the winds will pick up, we'll see periods of rain. damp and rainy that's the call

from accuweather. 49 degrees, turning windy. as that storm gets cranking overnight tonight and tomorrow, but then it's up in new england. we won't see any moisture, but we'll see windchills in the 20s and 30s first thing tomorrow morning. looks like january, right. i'll talk about that and the warmup in the seven-day forecast when i come back. >> it's what septa riders were hoping for. septa and it's largest union announced late last night they have reached a tentative agreement. the detail avoids a strike by bus, subway and trolley drivers. >> septa and the twu reached an agreement. >> reporter: the union and the

septa has a tentative agreement. >> we got it done. >> reporter: a long day and night of negotiations inside the wyndham hotel. it's been a longer seven months for young workers on the job without a contract and riders tense wandering about a strike. >> thanks to the riders and the union. >> reporter: both sides say there are wage increases and they agree this deal is fair. earlier in the week there was word that the union wanted a five year deal, brown touched on that during the late night news conference. >> first we had too many issues to deal with right now. we don't need to have a strike when we could resolve the issues. it gives us an opportunity to work over the next two years to solidify all our concerns.

>> reporter: this still remains a tentative deal. union boss willie brown said he'll prevent to this young workers whole have a vote. reporting in old city, annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." >> now to breaking news this morning, the action cam sent in video of one of two vehicles that hit a young woman in front of temple university hospital. that car stopped. a second did not. it hit her as she laid injured on broad street alongside her backpack. the woman was rushed into temple, a stretch of broad street is closed, while investigators comb for clues to that second vehicle. the closure is right there near tioga street. both sides of broad street closed this morning. accused cop killer eric frein sits in a jail cell this morning waiting for his next appearance in court that will

for a preliminary early or november 12. authorities say they found the alleged murder weapon in an abandoned airport hangar where they captured frein david henry asked one of the marshall about the bruises. sometimes when we take people into custody we have to take drastic measures. we didn't mess around. we meant business. frein is in isolation denied bail accused of killing bryon dickson and trooper alex douglass, dixon died. two high school also raised $500 for the families of the troopers. troopers from the pennsylvania state police accepted the check at last night's grudge match between those schools. new this morning, a man is

fighting for his life after he was shot in an attempted robbery and police say the trigger man wore a halloween mask. the shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. on the 1300 block of wakeling street in the frankford section. the suspect had on a red halloween mask and a hoodie. the victim was rushed to einstein medical center. police say they were called after a wife scribbled a note with makeup on the wall. police say turner snatched his wife on october 23 and kept at her duct taped to a bed for the last week. a 26-year-old was working on a home along howell school

road when the walls came down on top of him. he was trapped and had to be rescued. the victim was taken to christiana hospital with a back injury. a judge is giving casey -- kasi hickcox the okay to travel freely. she was asked to quarantine for 21 days, she resisted that after showing no symptoms. her boyfriend he, too, with a was kept away from school. they told us you were voluntarily not coming into classes. >> voluntarily is one of the things people might say you can't come to classes. >> reporter: even though she is allowed to travel, she must

into effect later this afternoon. it's those typical areas that flood that you're used to seeing. that's the areas you have to be mindful of. if you're parked in an area when the tide comes in move your car. storm tracker 6 live double scan we have two bands of moisture on the heavier side. the first is west of philadelphia, you can see that line of yellow which extends southward from radnor down into chester. we take that line into salem county. pennsville and salem reporting moderate rain and port penn, as well. there's heavy rain off the coast. south of atlantic city, you can see the reds. that is slowly drifting towards the west at 10 miles per hour. so places like cape may, sea isle city and avalon, you'll see heavier rains over the next hour or so. 47 degrees in philadelphia. millville, 48 on the boardwalk in atlantic city, 51. sea isle city 51, avalon 51 and

dover 48 degrees. temperatures are on the chilly side. unfortunately because we're dealing with a easterly breeze and clouds and damp weather, the numbers will not climb too much. maybe we go up another 2 or 3 degrees. there's the moisture pushing into the delaware valley. the morning is rather damp and gloomy and periods of rain. later this afternoon as this low starts is to blossom and gets going it will push to the north an take this moisture with it. we'll see cloudy siels after 3:00 -- cloudy skies after 3:00, 4:00. there's that slug of moisture over the heart of the delaware valley. it's mainly south jersey and delaware that are picking up the heavier showers after lunchtime. the far western suburbs are cloudy. the moisture will follow the low out to sea and off the coast there. will also keel we'll see gradual clearing or the attempt for clearing overnight tonight. it will be at that point where

the winds pick up and the temperatures plummet. we'll see the overnight lows down in the low 30s, north and west, and mid to upper 30s in the city. winds will be gusty today. 1:00, 0-mile an hour. look at the shore, wildwood close to 40. lakehurst. 34. overnight tonight, still dealing with the gusty breeze, 48 miles per hour in wildwood. same thing for atlantic city, tomorrow morning, gusty breezes 30 to potentially 35 or 40 miles per hour. this may be a little bit overdone, but you get the idea. it's going to be windy over the next 24 to 48 hours. forecast for the lehigh valley. cloudy and windy. the occasional shower. it will be damp out there. 49 degrees is the forecasted high for allentown. the jersey shore looks like a complete mess today, windy and cool, periods of rain, 53 degrees is the forecasted high for atlantic city. again, he with do have that coastal flood advisory and he tt

right now it does not look good at the philadelphia international airport. i have not seen any weather reported delays, but with the rain moving in, i would not be surprised if they mount up. we have patchy fog with the wind the camera is shaking. we have a line of bands from new castle county to delaware and surf city and southward off the coast of cape play. we'll zoom into the first line, first. you can see where it's situated from willow grove to media and wilmington and central portions of new castle county and delaware. this line, this is more impressive, we're not seeing any thunderstorm activity. this is a band of heavier rain on the outer edges of a developing low pressure system this, too, is pushing toward the west at 15 miles per hour.

fortunately nobody was hit, the shooter is on the run armed with an ar-15 assault rival. children in barrett county were able to celebrate halloween after all. the town canceled halloween while cop killer eric frein was on the run. his capture put halloween back on. parents say after being worried to go outside for seven weeks, they really enjoyed the night. >> this is eric frein moments after he was charged with murder yesterday. he made his first court appearance on charges of shooting two state troopers killing one seven weeks ago. he was captured on the grounds of an abandoned resort in tanersville. people yelled to him asking him if he was sorry for his actions. frein is being held in a maximum

>> it was one chilly and windy halloween in chicago. look at the waves crashing over the lake michigan barrier. partly of lake shore drive was shut down because of the water. a flood advisory was in effect for the area throughout the night. you've lived in chicago, that's not unusual for them. >> reporter: i mean they see big

waves waves, but to get them that close to the road is rare. one of the worst cases i ever saw was in the back in 2008. we had 15-foot waves and it was taking over the roads and then we had a flash freeze. the ice was this thick on sidewalks, i've never seen anything like that. >> it only hams in chicago. >> reporter: only -- it only happens in chicago. >> reporter: there's a view of center city, we have cloud and rain. it's a miserable afternoon. the first start of the weekend, saturday does not look to pretty around here. that's the view. let's go over to storm tracker 6 live double scan. we have a couple of lines the first one west of philadelphia at this point. you can see the line of yellow extending from bucks county all the way down into delaware and then we have with another line off the coast from surf city down through cape may, but, again, it's still a half-hour out to sea. we'll zoom into the line in

pennsylvania first, you can see from doylestown all the way down to norristown and malvern heavier rains into wilmington, delaware. here's the second line which extends out to sea off the coast of sea isle city and avalon and cape may. all this, again, pushing toward the shore. looks like in the next 45 minutes tore a an hour you'll see the heavier weather move into coastal section of atlantic and cape may county. 47 degrees. dewpoint, 43. temperatures pretty much going to hold steady throughout the entire afternoon. it's going to be chilly damp and raw day. winds out northeast 17 miles per hour. only 42 in quakertown, tanersville, 41. him pilots, 44. chester about -- pottstown, 44. chester, a 45. buena 48 avalon 50 degrees, winds starting to pick up, these are gusts right now out of the northeast driving 20 to 25 miles per hour.

we'll see gusts between 30 and 35 miles per hour later this afternoon as this coastal storm right here continues to develop over the next 12 to 24 hours, this thing will blossom always the energy from the secondary low joins forces wltsdz -- with this, that takes the ball and goes running up the coastline. this is the beginning of november. it's not a tree mend outlines amount of cold -- tremendous amount of cold air. had this been colder air this would be a big storm. over the next 24 hours, call it windy and damp today and tomorrow. tomorrow, lots of sunshine, maybe morning clouds, that's about it. here's future tracker 6. you can see the rains out there today. all this is pulling away as the coastal gets going. it starts to hit the coast, the shores of new england, you get into the canadian maritimes.

there's snow it will come down heavily. they are expecting 2, 3, 4 inches out of this. that's well to the north. no cold air in place here to produce that kind of weather pattern. they are picking it up in new england over the next couple of days. for us we're talking about the rains overspreading the area. by afternoon we'll see this pull away, it will follow that low out to sea. it's cloudy and damp and cool over the next remaining 1 hours or so. damp and rainy today, windy. 350 degrees in wilmington. atlantic city, 53. with the wind it will feel like the 40s. the low 40s. overnight tonight, 40 degrees for the -- 34 degrees outlying suburbs, 38 for center city. 49 degrees today. 50 tomorrow. well below average.
