let's go right to dave murphy and karen rogers. good morning. >> big day for folks outdoors as they head into the polls and it looks like it's going to be a decent day for voting or anything else you need to do outside today. we are starting out with a fair amount of cloud cover but it looks like there will be some breaks. you're already seeing that in spots out to the west. overall we expect clouds in there morning to give way to more of a clouds and sun mix as we head into the afternoon. it's not nearly as chilly as it was the last couple mornings. 53 degrees right now philadelphia. we have dipped into the upper 40's in allentown but 48 is not too bad for this time of year. 51 in trenton, 47 in dover, 52 in millville and low 50's down the shore. it's not a lot of wind out there and it is beginning to shift out of the west now and eventually out of the southwest. you can see how it's calm in some spots. philadelphia with the strongest wind right now and that's only 8 miles per hour. i'm forgetting about the poconos at 15 but generally speaking light winds. as we head out the door to catch that school bus or just get the car started looks like will it stay on the cool side but fairly comfortable between 6 and 8 o'clock. temperatures close to

"action news" reporter katherine scott is live at police headquarters with the latest on the investigation. katherine. >> reporter: matt, the fbi has joined philadelphia police in this search. the mayor has approved a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and coin speed restriction in this case. this is the victim 22-year-old carlesha freeland gaither. she was abduct fred a germantown street and police released surveillance video from sunday around 9:40 p.m. on the 100 block of west colder street. you see the suspect driving down the block and park. man in a hooded sweatshirt walked over to the victim. she tried to run but the man grabbed her and forced her down the block.

she was struggling. she was screaming for help but the man forced her into the car and she hasn't been seen since. the audio from the surveillance hasn't been released but police say it indicates that she does not know her attacker. her father just wants her home. >> she's a smart young lady, like i said, never caused me any problems, anything like that. like i said, she was going to work and coming home and just being herself. so, again, i don't see her getting into any trouble or anything like that so i don't understand why somebody would do this to her. >> reporter: and she managed to kick out the car's rear windows on the driver's side and police say the suspect was driving a 2000-2004 dark gray metallic ford taurus that has an unknown pennsylvania tag and missing inspection sixers. we have that surveillance footage fora on our web site 6abc.com. we also have the tip line. call northwest detectives if you have any information. we have that number posted for you on 6abc.com. we're live at police headquarters, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> okay, katherine thank you.

house of representatives will be up for grabs today. the yesterday the candidates across its country were knocking on doors, you can see that video, handing out pamphlets and trying to energize their campaigns by holding rallies in states in which the election outcan comes will have major national implications. here's what's on the line. all 435 house seats, 36 governor's races including the one here in pennsylvania and of course the biggest prize, control of the u.s. senate. although anything can happen on election day polls indicate at this time republicans are in a good spot tonight. if the gop holds onto kentucky georgia and kansas and wins six of the 13 democratic held seats, it will recapture the senate. >> you look at the maps. they simply have multiple paths to getting to their goal of 51 senators and taking back control of the senate. >> reporter: louisiana and georgia are senate races that may create the possibility for runoff contests. in both states there are three or more candidates and in neither state is any candidate getting more than 50 percent
5:36 am
in recent polling. if those races do result in runoffs it may be possible we won't know who controls the senate for months. there is certainly a lot at stake here politically but remember, midterm elections on average have a voter turnout of about 39 to 42 percent. the only way you can make your voice heard is to get out and vote today. tamly. >> all right, you know, erin there have been so many polls, so many predictions i can't wait to see what happens because in politics there's always a surprise. we'll see you short. a bucks county polling place will open as scheduled today despite a nasty accident last night. chopper 6 hd what your over the springfield township police station just after a car slammed into the building around 6 o'clock last night. the driver was cut out of the wreckage and driven to the hospital. but again, the polling place inside that station will be opened today. now, polls in new jersey will open up in about half an hour. they open in pa and delaware at 7:00 and all of the polls close at 8 o'clock tonight. volunteers from the league

and bring in your always-on day planner, there it is, so you can glance ahead if you like. today's high, well, clouds mixing with sun and 66 in allentown, 67 in philadelphia and more 67's down south. so, again, like yesterday, not a big range in temperatures. everybody pretty much winding up at the same spot. if you're headed to the polls today early on when they open at seven which, in pennsylvania, 49 degrees and then up to 65 by noon so you're not going have to wait very long for the numbers to really warm. our high of 67 will be at about 2:00 and by 3 o'clock 66 degrees. sometimes people like to go and pick up their kids and if the polling station is near the school you just vote right then. looking at pretty good temperatures there. after work 59 degrees after 6 o'clock. when the polls close at 8 o'clock tonight 57 degrees, that is not a bad election day forecast. light winds. no rain. and then tomorrow we've got high pressure fading off the coast. cold front coming at us a from the west and ahead of that we'll still be in a southwesterly flow that will give us another nice mild day. on thursday, however, we'll be looking at this frontal
