"action news" reporter katherine scott is live now at northwest detectives. she's got the latest developments. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. and the reward in this case has been growing. it's up to $47,000 and investigators here at the northwest detectives division want to hear from you if you have any tips. as loved ones held a candlelight vigil and prayed for the safe return of 22 year old carlesha freeland-gaither the investigation into her abduction moved full steam ahead. we now have a better picture of a person of inter. it was captured around 6 o'clock monday morning inside a convenience store in aberdeen maryland around the time police say this man used freeland-gaither's debit card at a nearby pnc bank. fbi agents were on the ground yesterday searching for this video and other evidence. we're also now seeing the

first moments when freeland-gaither came into contact with her abductor on sunday night. he reached his hand out to her. you see her black away. the man lunges at her and forces her down west coweller street against her will. >> he was very brutal how he took her down the street. >> reporter: freeland-gaither's family says they moved from maryland several years ago and she left behind an obsessed boyfriend. police need more but confirm they have leads and persons of interest including this man. >> he just was aggressive. he didn't show any other signs of anything else. he was just aggressive. i just told her to stay away from him. >> reporter: the 22-year-old nursing assistant works at presbyterian hospital. her family just wants her home. >> she was always there for anybody and everybody. no matter what. >> reporter: and if you want to take another look at that surveillance video, we have it posted on our web site at

6abc.com so you can log on there. live in fern rock, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> katherine thanks. now to election day. pennsylvania voters toss their chief executive out of office. to my wolf running for office for the first time soundly defeated incumbent governor tom corbett. erin o'hearn joins us live at the big board with more. erin. >> reporter: matt you wonder if there's going to be a flux of democrats across the country buying one of these jeeps that tom wolf has and of course pennsylvania gubernatorial race is one of the few big victories for democrats last night. tom wolf won by a comfortable margin winning almost 55 percent of the votes and tom corbett made history but probably not in the way he had hoped. corbett has become the first governor to lose reelection in the state's modern history. wolf, a businessman and first time candidate, spent $10 million of his own money on an early tv ad campaign that endeared him to voters. last night he drove to his victory rally as you saw in his hometown of york in his

trademark jeep. he told supporter that is public education will be his top on his agenda. >> our ancestors realized that education was the key to a strong citizenship, to a strong democracy, to a strong economy, to strong families and we needed to invest in that. we need to make sure that we resurrect that idea here in pennsylvania and make sure that education is at the top of the list, not the bottom. taking a look at storm tracker 6 live double scan, you can see that we do have no precipitation out there across its region so that's g couple of highlights to your forecast. it is going to be mild and dry today, even though clouds are going to increase. tomorrow, though, at times anyway it will be rather rainy so that's what we're looking forward to over the next 24 to 48 hours. 55 degrees right now as you step outside in the city, up to 45 in allentown, 52 in reading, 53 in trenton, 50 in wilmington, mid-50's down along the coastline. satellite shows you cloud cover out there. a pretty good deal of it although i think we'll get some early sun before the clouds start to increase as the day goes on and most of these showers out to the west appear to be falling apart before they get here. up in allentown today, increasing clouds, seasonably mild, 65 degrees the average high for this date up in the lehigh valley is in the 50's so that's not bad. and then down the shore, we're looking for similar high around 66 degrees increasing clouds, a little cool but pretty nice on the boardwalks all things considered. in philadelphia we're going for a high of 68. sun to clouds. mild for this time of year.

winds only running about eight to 16 miles per hour. tomorrow's a different story. we are looking at showers building probably by the time most of you get up. we'll start to see a good portion of the region underneath this and that continues through the morning rush hour. some of this rain could be steady. we're looking at a total of about a half inch to an inch by the time we're done. the late he have model runs are suggesting a bit more of a lull through the day. we'll allow a spotty shower or a bit of a rain. in the evening more rain coming in before we start to wind it down a little as we head towards friday morning. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, 68 degrees, a mix of sun giving way to increased clouds today. cloudy with periods of rain tomorrow, a high of 61 degrees. look out for backed up storm drains where some leaves tend to get washed down into the drains tomorrow. and then windy with a lingering shower at times on friday. cooler with a high of 55. for the weekend, saturday starts out sunny. we'll see clouds increasing, a high of 52. and then sunday there will be a coastal system dishing in more clouds and an occasional shower. we're thinking right now that most of the steady rain with

(applause). >> corbett faced an uphill battle the whole race as he faced questions about everything from education cuts to his handling of the jerry sandusky case while he was attorney general. but he says he's proud of what he a.m. accomplished in his four years in office. >> we delivered on the promises that we made in 2010. of fiscal discipline, of limited governments and of free enterprise. when i made those promises i said -- >> exit polling showed corbett lost support from 2010 among men and women in all age groups and all income levels. >> 6:36 now. wolf's big win was one of the few bright spots for democrats in this election cycle. republicans now control both houses of congress. they captured the senate for the first time since 2006 and add to do their majority in the house. erin o'hearn continues coverage on the big board and has more on next year's congressional break down. erin. >> reporter: good morning, matt. we're seeing a lot of red this morning.

this major republican victory will likely complicate president obama's final two years in office. now, this is how the u.s. senate looks right now. republicans have 52 seats and the democrats have 45 including independents. now the number you see in gray here, that's -- that represents virginia and alaska which are too close to call and louisiana which is headed for a runoff. now, as expected, the gop picked up senate seats in arkansas, south dakota and west virginia but they also won hard fought races in north carolina, colorado and iowa. republicans also dominated in governor's races including president obama's home state of illinois. they also dug into deep blue states capturing the governor's mansions in massachusetts and maryland and of course mitch mccontinental pulled off a win after a grueling campaign and is likely to be the next senate majority leader. >> this turned out though to be a national election, a national wave. senators governors, house members, this was that anti-democrat

across-the-board. >> reporter: and here's a look at the house. the republicans now have 242 seats, the democrats hold 174. this is the republican's largest majority since world two. they are on track to pick up a few more seats after this bruising defeat president obama must now forge a new path forward working with republicans he has invited both parties to meet with him on friday. what's interesting is even though republicans pulled off a decisive wind exit polls indicated that voters were dissatisfied with both parties. only one in five voters saying they trust the government to do the right thing, matt. >> not much to be happy about over the last couple years i guess. >> reporter: that's right. >> thanks erin. another race we had our eye on was in delaware. that's democrat bethany hall long. she kept her seat in the state senate narrowly defeating republican challenger ron marino. the race made headlines when her husband was caught catching campaign signs from people's lawns in middletown. dana hall long is facing

dismemorial theft charges. we have results from all the races including the congressional races in pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware, state races and ballot questions. >> the philadelphia school district will resume hearings on whether to shut down a local charter school. an inquiry showed the walter palmer charter school has under performed and violated its charter over the past six years. and its problems have led to some high profile incidents. last month the high school abruptly shut down leaving 300 students with nowhere to go. and school officials kicked out 250 grade school students because the school was not able to pay its bills. >> let's get the accuweather forecast with david. >> it's a nice one today. cloudy but mild. storm tracker 6 live double scan shows that you we are basically dry across the region. there is the chance of a little sprinkle moving in from the north and west later this morning but it's not going to be much if it does make it here. as we take a look outside, we have sky 6 and as promised, there's a little bitter of sunshine up early over the horizon. clouds will probably get thicker as the day goes on. fairly comfortable in most

neighborhoods. we're at 55 degrees right now in philadelphia. the winds in the city at 10 miles per hour. the last time they took this snapshot reading at the airport but in most cases we've seen anywhere from single digit winds around five down to nothing so the wind is not a big issue out there for you in general. there's that little shower activity out to the west. looks like it wants to try and fall apart before it gets here but if we do see something a little later this morning as i mentioned it will be quick and light. today is a general idea is going to be an increase in clouds and mild air again for the afternoon. by 8 o'clock, 56. by 11 o'clock, though, up to 63 and then by 2 o'clock, that's your high, 68 degrees and we'll be back down to 63 by 5 o'clock. again, very mild for this time of year in philadelphia. and high temperatures showing a little bit of a range today. we'll only get up to about 64 in trenton and toms river, 65 in allentown and then there's that 68 in areas closer to philadelphia and 65 to 66 your range down along the coast. tomorrow morning it looks like there's going to be some new rain moving in. now, this will be rain that

could be steady at times as it plows through during the morning rush hour. this is a brands new model run. we're only going for about a half inch to an inch of rain total out of this and during the day there is the chance that we actually see kind of a lull in the action. then we go into tomorrow night and there's the chance for a few more sprinkles and showers so not a lot of rain out there but if we do manage to get a steady downpour for at least a little while, especially during that morning area where there's more rain, keep in mind that there are lots of leaves out there along the sides of the streets and those could very easily block storm drains and give you a little bit of a spray or problem slowing down in those intersections. also if you have a lot of leaves in the gutter again just in case there's a steady portion of this storm, you might want to try and clean them out if you've got some gutters that are low lying and easy to get to. your exclusive accuweather 7-day, today not a bad day, 68 degrees. sun will give way to increasing clouds and then tomorrow, cloudy skies with periods of off and on rain probably won't be raining all the day. and 61 is the high. and then friday windy and cooler, 55 degrees, a real blustery wind and there could be some lingering showers

traffic on the 30 bypass you could see it's pretty jammed up at the moment. let's take a look in pottstown. this is montgomery county. i talked to police. they're still out there blocking north charlotte street at chestnut street. stick to hanover street as your alternate. they've got police activity causing the issue right now a new accident, it's a multi vehicle accident, three vehicles involved. this is in bucks county here in bristol. route 413 veterans highway at state road. we've got at least one lane blocked with this accident causing problems. also this accident in pennypack park causing an issue on bustleton avenue between greg street and winchester avenue. look for possible restrictions with that accident. let's take a look at the big picture and see what's going on. some slow speeds on i-95 southbound, 19 miles an hour. schuylkill westbound 11 miles an hour as you go past the boulevard to past belmont particularly slow. and in port richmond richmond street and allegheny avenue. tacony palmyra bridge still up. let's take a look at the temperatures. 55 degrees, not too bad as you head out. pretty mild for this time of

year. 45 in allentown, 52 in millville. headed up to 68 today. mixture of sun to increasing clouds, tam. >> thank you, karen. we have learn the name of the man who was murdered while driving yesterday in philadelphia's juniata section. police say 38-year-old hurley mccallie of lawndale was shot and killed around 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. he was driving on i street right near the coca-cola bottling company when someone on the street shot him. he had a passenger in the car. that person survived and they are talking to police. >> happening today, nfl star ray rice will appeal his indefinite suspect from the league for abusing his wife. rice will argue his case in arbitration, not during a trial. he says nfl and -- commissioner roger goodell knew he had attacked his wife in an atlantic city elevator long before the full video of the incident went public. he also says the league is punishing him multiple times for the same thing. goodell will testify under oath at the appeal. >> 6:47 and voters across america have spoken and republicans have riding a wave
