jim gardner. wednesday night princeton university investigated an alleged assault at an eating club. but the big story on "action news" tonight is yet another video of a possible suspect in the abduction of a woman on sunday night. this is surveillance video of a person of interest at an acme in northeast philadelphia hours carlesha freeland-gaither was abducted in german town, police want to you notice the man's gait, they hope that will happen someone identify him. david ry is live in philadelphia and waltder perez is live in delaware. what is the latest from police. >> reporter: jim, philadelphia police here and the fbi feel

like they are closing in on this guy, but they don't have him yet. more important they are hoping to find carlesha. >> she is a sweet little girl and doesn't deserve this. >> carlesha's family returned to the scene of the abduction still holding out hope she will be returned safe and sound. they made a small sidewalk shrine and police released this new video of a possible suspect. he was seen at an acme supermarket about eight hours before carlesha disappeared. there is a shot of his face but police want to you see the way he walks, he has a distinctive gait, and police hope it rings a bell with someone. >> if you know how someone walks, that say great indication and we need to know. >> this man was believed to have used carlesha's debit wart in delaware on monday morning and

the same man was caught shopping at a convenience store. police say they are getting valuable leads based on videos but they need more. this shows the initial encounter between carlesha and the kidnapper, at first it seems she is avoiding him and then stops at the corner when she shakes hands with him. the family says the handshake is pussling but not -- >> she is friendly, he may have said something and reached his hand out and she looked at it and changed her mind. >> police don't know if she knew her attacker or not. family members say they have never seen the man in the videos, most of the search activity is centered in maryland involving the state police there and the fbi. and a family clings to any shred of hope. i am hopeful that something will

high school and even though she was petite she was larger than life. >> if she didn't know you she would come and talk to you and make you laugh. >> carlesha lived with her for a month after carlesha got into a disagreement with her grandmother with whom she lives in california, maryland. but despite that fight she was close to her family and her abduction has everybody rattled to the core. >> she doesn't deserve any of this, i know her family lovers and misses her. >> that includes leon bash another close friend that says there was only one thing going through his mind. >> this season real. this isn't real. this does not happen to -- i've never seen anything happen like this unless it's a movie or on tv.

coverage of the changing political landscape and president obama's message to the new republican leadership in the senate. that is next on channel 6. it's a trying day at 28th and dickinson in philadelphia. first a water main break and then in the effort to make repairs there was a second break at the same location. lets go live to the scene and "action news" reporter, annie mccormick. >> reporter: jim, the first one was really just a traffic disruption and the second water main break later this afternoon that is causing headaches out here especially people that live on the block because more than 50 people are without water, we'll take a look at the operation going on right now, pgw is on hand and they are lowering a beam so they can support a gas line so the water department can start work on the two water main breaks. take a look at this gushing water taken by cell phone video

at 28th and dickinson wednesday afternoon. this was the first break of the day. >> all the water started to come up. >> water from the 16 inch main break flooded the intersection and it pushed up the pickup truck giving a show for neighborhood kids but at that point no customers were effected. it came up high off the ground. all the streets were flooded. >> neighbors commended the speedy fix by the water department and crews dug in to begin repairs, a casualty. they struck north main and water began spilling again. >> the water department was working to get access to the 16-inch broken main, during that time an 8-inch main broke and water service was disrupted to 55 homes. >> the response time was really great and it's unfortunate they are trying to fix it and now another water main is broken. >> we'll be out here making

a father and son from collingdale are in jail after a shootout with police. police arrived to serve a warn on the son, lamar james, he was wanted for a murder in philadelphia and james opened fire on the officers, he is charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault on nine
