was seen last night hugging carlesha's mother just hours after the 12e-year-old was rescued in maryland. sloan promised the mom he would get carlesha back and he felt good that he made good on that promise. he described what it was like when he called with the great news. >> she answered the phone and she sounded all gloomy, i said why do you sound so gloomy, and she said why? and i said we found your sister and she is safe and her mother got on the phone and i said your daughter is home and safe. >> he travelled to carlesha at the hop and it was a touching moment when he walked in and said i have been looking for you and at that moment everyone began to cry and they were tears of joy and relief and this case was so stressful but satisfied

with the end result. >> thank you sharrie. meantime, "action news" reporter, chad pradelli is in maryland tonight where the suspect was arraigned on charges earlier today. you have that part of the story. >> reporter: hey monica, delvin barnes waived his right to an extradition hearing held here at the baltimore detention center without bail. authorities are expected to pick him up tonight or tomorrow and bring him back to virginia where he faces charges in another kidnapping. delvin barnes never arrived in the district court, wearing an orange jump suit he responded to the judge with yes, sir and no, sir. >> virginia has five days to get him from the baltimore detention center. >> he is facing charges in the abduction of carlesha freeland-gaither earlier this week and it was caught on camera and a manhunt started after he

was caught on camera before, during and after the kidnapping. the video and several other breaks helped them nab barnes in a parking lot in money last night. carlesha was with him. >> we love when the crimes are caught on camera, it's rare but gives society as a whole how scary and horrible it is what happened to that victim. >> but barnes won't be back in philadelphia for months, he is facing charges in the brutal kidnapping and rape of a 16-year-old girl in virginia. barnes allegedly doused her with bleach and gasoline and repeatedly asked her how she wanted to die, while digging a grave, the naked girl escaped and a year later he was in philadelphia terrorizing carlesha freeland-gaither who was in the wrong place at the

fast moving fire in upper darby, delaware county, firefighter as rived at the home at 2:30 a.m., that house and the one next door suffered serious damage, everyone was able to get out okay and nobody was hurt and so far it's not clear what started the fire. >> the search is on for an armed thief that targeted two northeast philadelphia businesses the night before halloween, the first happened at the fresh works on wood haven road, the suspect walked in with a knife and the clerk told him that there wasn't any so the thief swiped the tip jar and ran off. he did the same thing at a getty gas station but there he got away empty handed. an appeals court upheld an eye gay marriage laws in five states. the final decision was 2-1 and the move breaks ranks with other

courts that overturned bans on gay marriage, making it more likely that the supreme court will have to take up the issue. police in california are awaiting autopsy results to help solve the murder mystery of a movie executive. hikers discovered the body of gavin smith, an executive for 20th century fox, disappeared two years ago, investigators did name drug dealer, john kreech a person of interest. his mercedes benz showed up in his store able space last year. the drummer for the rock band, ac/dc appeared in a new zealand courtroom, phil rudd is accused of hiring a hitman to kill two people and the charges include a maximum prison term of 10 years and he is slapped with

adam is here. >> the rain is moving off the coast and get ready for tomorrow. >> win winds of change. >> yes, and somewhat drier, we are dealing with light showers in southeastern parts of new jersey and we are drying out west of philadelphia, and center city all the way east to the shore of long beach island and east of seaside heights, this is the thunderstorm that was severe at a time, it is now generally pushing off the coast, no more lightning and no longer severe but heavy rainfall, near arctic avenue to pacific avenue to the pord walk. but even here the heaviest rain is heading out over the next few minutes and heavy showers for the next 30 minutes. the visibility is dropping every, 3 miles in atlantic city

and 2.5-month-old and 1.5 in reading and the poconos the visible is a half mile. chilly in allentown 48 and philadelphia 53, a damp raw feeli feeling out there with the lingering fog out there and dropping from the 60s to the upper 50s. we have energy to the west and that energy is pushing off the coast and is developing another nor'easter for new england and all of that juice in the atmosphere is kind of getting excited across our region and in northern new england it's another snow event in parts of maine and vermont. for us we miss out on the big part of the storm but because that storm is deepening to the northern and east, a lot of rain is thrown our ways, gusts of 40 miles per hour and clouds and 54 degrees, feeling like the 40s for much of the day and a brief shower in the afternoon and high

pressure comes in and less wind for saturday and a few high clouds for the weekend and cooler at 50 as we await the next front that passes through late evening. otherwise it turns brisk and the wind starts to kick up after midnight. we disperse the fog 40 to 45 degrees, 54 tomorrow and gusty winds and a brief shower in the afternoon, and morning sun on saturday and it quickly goes to clouds as the front approaches but a dry front here at 50 degrees, sunshine behind that on sunday and a few clouds and back to seasonable averages at 57 and really nice here on monday 61 and dry for the eagles game monday night and 7 degrees above average for veterans day at 65 and another powerful front comes through on wasn't and drops temperatures 12 degrees below normal next thursday at 45 and that could last into the
