end. i'll have the details in the seven day when i step back inside in just a bit. eva? >> thanks, chris. we have more information on the breaking news this morning, the action cam was on the scene as firefighters battled a multi-alarm blaze in maple shade, burlington county. the fire was declared under control moments ago. it began at 4:00 a.m. on the 600 block of styles avenue, route 73. the showroom of south jersey mowers have been destroyed by the fire. there was snow blowers and other equipment for repair has not been damaged. a woman who lives in a home attached to the building is being treated for smoke. route 73 is closed in both directions due to the fire apparatus on it is scene stay with "action news" and 6abc.com for the latest information. new this morning, a temple university student is shot at a an off-campus party.

the student was shot in the hip. 3 men try to to get into the party when they were denied entrance. one of the men pulled out a gun and fired two times. the student who was shot was taken to hahnemann university hospital. temple tweeted out the suspect's description, a young black man wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and red beanie and blue jeans. temple police and philadelphia police are handling the investigation. a multi-vehicle accident, the wreck in newark landed a motorcyclist in the hospital. the biker and three other cars collided on capital trail around 7:30. the investigation continues this morning. police are asking for your help torched a woman missing from a local group home. april parker vanished from ludlow street in philadelphia. parker battles bipolar disorder

barack obama is expected to normally announce his choice for the next attorney general. mr. obama has chosen loretta lynch attorney general for new york. if confirmed lynch will be the first african-american woman to hold the post. more american troops will be heading back to iraq. president obama has authorized the pentagon to send another 1500 troops to iraq to boost the number to 3100 in the region. the troops will be charged with advising and training iraqi fighters as they continue to battle isis militants. congress must approved $5.5 billion to pay for the dramatically expanded mission. happening today, philadelphia air boy scouts will be working to fight hunger. thousands of scouts will be going door to door to drop off empty plastic bags as partly of

freezing in trenton. 29 in millville. sea isle city, the shorepoints are only a couple of degrees above freezing. it's the coldest morning we've seen in seven months around here. satellite and radar we have high, thin clouds passing by in the lehigh valley. everybody else is seeing mainly clear conditions. the idea is we'll start out with sunshine and see high, thin clouds as the day wears on. all this moisture you see hear will actually pass on by to the north. we really should not see any moisture from this front. it will pull through moisture starved, which is good news because we've had a lot of rain over the past couple of weeks. these numbers are not too terribly bad right now. you get above the u.s./canadian border. there's single digits and teens. that cold air is diving south. it will hit the high plains first and charging east. by the time we get into wednesday night and thursday, it will knocked down considerably. this is the polar front.

normally the high temperature should be around 60 degrees, so ten degrees below average. as we look across the county. there's not much going on. we have this system pushing across the great lakes. the airline behind it is cold, but it pales in comparison to what we have on the table next week. high pressure come in from up here. the stronger they are the farther down they go into the lower 48. this pushes the polar front down into the mid atlantic and the great lakes and high plains. this will bring unseasonable cold weather to the northern part of the united states. it will drop all highs down into the upper 30s and far northwestern suburbs and low 40s in the city. eva? >> in sports, the agony of defeat for temple and the sixers remain winless. ducis rogers has that and the

a major road in south jersey is shut down after a huge fire sparked in a business. two police officers are injured following a chase and crash in the northeast. and a cold start to the weekend. you'll need the coat and scarves before heading out this morning. meteorologist chris sowers is heading outside with a look ahead.ologist chris sowers is >> reporter: hey, good morning to you, i was going to say gloves, as well. as you can see i'm not wearing them. temperatures are chilly enough. we're down into the 20s and 30s, several locations are

below freezing, 32 degrees. 36 in philadelphia. 29 in allentown. poconos 26. lancaster, 28. dover, 32 and millville, 29 degrees. we're running anywhere from ten to 20 degrees colder than this time yesterday. high, thin clouds overspreading delaware valley. it's clear across the virginias and carolinas, as well. we'll start out with a decent amount of sunshine and seen and crease in high clouds as the afternoon wears on. the clouds will not turn threatening. we stay dry today and tomorrow. sun to clouds, that's the call from accuweather. it will be chilly high of 50 dpreez, normally -- degrees, normally we should be around 60. it's a quiet weekend overall. as we look ahead, changing temperatures, first it turns

"action news" learned that the showroom was destroyed. a storage buildings where customers snow blowers are repaired were not damaged. an elderly woman who lives

in a home attached to the building is being treated for smoke. a haz/mat team is on the scene due to the run off of petroleum. stay with "action news" and 6abc.com for the latest. other news we have information on two philadelphia police officers who were hurt in a chase that ended in a crash. chopper 6hd flew over the nasty accident. it happened a little after 10:30 last night and blocked part of the roosevelt boulevard at langdon street. the driver of of a cadillac that caused the accident was spotted minutes before selling marijuana on the 5100 block of frankford avenue. >> when officers attempted to pull the driver of the car who was selling the drugs in the cadillac, he took off at a high rate of speed and dragged four officers injuring two of them. >> shortly after the pursuit, the cadillac ran a red light and

t-boned a honda. >> after they were appending him the male resisted arrest and he had to be tasered. >> that driver who police say is the drug seller is charged with aggravated assault resisting arrest and narcotics offenses. the driver of the honda is hospitalized with head injuries. he is alert. one officer broke a hand when the suspect dragged the officers on frankford avenue. the other officer has an injured leg. police say the original buyer of the drugs was arrested near the frankford avenue scene. new overnight a man was hit by a car in philadelphia's mayfair section. the driver stopped immediately at frankford and tyson avenues. the victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment. police are trying to figure out how the accident happened. a candle light vigil was held last night for little scott mcmillan. as you can see from the post thousands shared their sorrow and sympathy for the 3-year-old

boy who was tortured and killed. an emotional vigil was held in parksburg chester county. >> reporter: with candle in handle, the chester county community sang, prayed and held their children first remembering scottie mcmillan savagely killed at the hands of his mother and boyfriend. authorities charged his mother and her live-in boyfriend with first degree murder. they will seek the death penalty. >> he was lashed with a metal rod and tied to a chair and beaten. he was tied upside down by his feet and beaten. his head was smashed through a wall. >> reporter: the accused couple lived with tat. he's two children.

>> hill is being held in the delaware county prison on $50,000. delvin barns the man accused of kidnapping carlesha freeland-gaither is on suicide watch in jail in virginia. he was charged with attempted murder, sexual assault and kidnapping. these charges stem from last month's abduction of a 16-year-old girl in richmond. authorities say he attempted to rape and set the girl on fire, but she managed to escape. barns was arrested in jessup maryland when federal officials rescued carlesha freeland-gaither she is back in philadelphia with her family. meanwhile, attorney general eric holder sent a letter thanking the numerous agencies involved in the rescue of carlesha freeland-gaither. holder recognized the local and federal officials who investigated the kidnapping and event arrest saying it was quote law enforcement work at its finest. septa's largest union has
