that teen is talking to "action news." >> temperatures crash by midweek. >> reporter: more like late week actually we have a nice little warmup in store first, then the numbers go in the tank. it's milder than yesterday at this time. yesterday we had temperatures in the mid to upper 20s. it's another quiet morning around the delaware valley. that's the view from center city. just a little bit of cloud cover. that's about it. 46 degrees in the city. 41 for millville. yesterday you were down in the 20s. poconos, 35, lancaster, 35. wilmington, 42. 24 hour temperature change it's chilly out there, but we are running anywhere from 8 to 14 degrees milder than yesterday. the satellite and radar we can thank the clouds for that, they act as an atmospheric blanket.

they follow the release of an ohio resident who was detained for 6 months accused of leaving a bible in a nightclub. he spoke back in august. >> i apologize to the people of the united states for causing a headache. >> reporter: bae from a seattle washington suburb was detained in 2012 while leading a tour group to an economic zone. he was sentenced for 15 years for hard labor. miller who is from california was serving a 6 year jail term on charges of espionage after he allegedly ripped his tourist visa in april and demanded asylum. abc news, new york. >>le we'll hear more from kenneth bae in the next

half-hour and "good morning america" will have a report on the return home. >> a fight outside a philadelphia nightclub ends in a shootout in the parking lot. it happened outside club onyx on columbus boulevard. 28-year-old man and security guards got into an argument. the man pulled out a gun and fired shots. the guards were not hit. the guards shot back. the fun fire hit his car and he was hit in the hand and shoulder. police found him walking on the shoulder of the road. investigators are talking to him and the guards. the man's girlfriend works at the club. a philadelphia police officer is alive this morning because of the heroic efforts of the teenager who pulled the officer from his burning car. 17-year-old joseph chambers is a volunteer firefighter. he was visiting his sister in the grays ferry section of philadelphia last evening. the two of them heard a loud

bang. a patrol car and pickup had ran into each other. the patrol car was on fire. he ran up to the officer who was stuck in the car. >> i said can you get out, he said i can't feel my legs, his door was slammed shot. i said i can't get you out, i'll get you out of the window. >> a seconds after he was pulled from the car the vehicle burst into flames. the officer is going to be okay thanks again to one heroic teen and others who rushed to help. chambers pulled a passenger out of the pick up he is being treated at the hospital of the university of pennsylvania. the driver pickup ran off, police have not found that

41 degrees. the satellite and radar, you can think the cloud cover for the milder temperatures this morning acting as a blanket. you can see the clouds they will hang tough in the late morning hours, they will clear out and you'll see sunshine that will get us into the mid to upper 50s. we have this system down through here, it will skirt off the coast we have no issues it is with that. there's a cold front approaching this week. but there's no arctic air behind this. the arctic front is this right here, that is the polar front this will drop down south first and then it will continue to push east over the next four to five days. it will be real cold up here to start the workweek and that cold air shifts in in our direction as we get into thursday and friday. that's temperatures in the single designates right now. just north of the u.s./canadian border. the first true shot of arctic air is on the way.

omaha, 37. chicago, 35, cincinnati 31. it's chilly but not too cold as of yet. surface maps, front knocking on the door. we have a lot of clouds, once the front crosses the region, we have sunshine. monday is fantastic. this is a pacific high. the winds shift out of the southwest, lots of sunshine, temperatures closing in on 60 degrees. for today, today is a better day. it will feel better, milder, 55 degrees, yesterday in allentown you topped out at 48. we're seven degrees milder, clouds and sun, chilly for this time of the year. atlantic city, same thing starting out with clouds, we'll increase the sun as the day wears on. it will be milder with temperatures closing in on 60. philadelphia, 56, 57. clouds and sun, milder. winds out of the northwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour. overnight tonight we'll see temperatures dropping into the 30s and 40s.

and a woman for a shooting in philadelphia's frankford section. a 33-year-old man was shot in the chest. he is hospitalized at temple

university hospital. the shots rang out on the 3100 block of frankford avenue. they have the gun, they have not clarified the role the man and woman played in the shooting or the motive for the gunfire. >> three people looted and vandalized a charter school it was caught on video. police said what they did was not only criminal, but down right disgusting. >> reporter: police say the three men caught on tape are responsible for vandalism and theft of school supplies, the best shot the camera caught was from this young man at two angles. they believe this man could be in his 20s or 0s. >> this is something no one wants to see especially in the school. >> reporter: early saturday morning maintenance workers discovered the mess and things

ripped apart and classroom and money stolen from candy sales. they detective -- deficated and our -- >> they destroyed cabinets and paper everywhere. >> reporter: this campus houses the k through 8th grade. every day they feed breakfast and lunch to 800 children. one of the largest head start programs in the city. the kitchen was vandalized and the food stolen. the damage is estimate the in the thousand, he saids sad and wants the trio caught. >> we know what good education can do for our kids, when we see this we have to make sure it doesn't happen to other schools

there's more cloud cover to the west. in between the two we're starting to see breaks. we're expecting clouds, eventually that will give way to sunshine. day planner looks like this. 48 degrees, lunchtime 54. clouds giving way to sunshine later on. but as we look ahead here, big changes arrive by wednesday evening. this isn't a cold front. this is a polar front that's going to be blasting through, temperatures behind the front will be colder. it's going to be the coldest air we've seen so far this season. there is a system we are watching by saturday next week that could bring a mixture of rain and snow. a light system but we're still watching. i'll have the details in the seven day. >> police are looking for the killer who gunned down a woman on the streets in the tioga-nicetown section of philadelphia. the action cam was at the scene.

gunfire broke out before midnight. police say the victim was shot repeatedly. she was pronounced at the scene. investigators have not said if they have any motives or suspects in the case. police are shedding new light in the shooting of a temple university student off campus. police know what the motive was and what the victim did when he was threatened. >> reporter: the temple student was shot and he walked out of hospital on crutches. "action news" was there as the 19-year-old temple university student was released from hahnemann university hospital after he was shot during an attempted robbery. >> cops came and dragged him out of the house and took him off in the police car. >> reporter: saturday night around the campus came increased security and campus patrol also.

students were robbed and the shooting on the 1500 block of north 17th street. >> my bike was robbed, that was the worse for me. because everybody seems friendly. >> reporter: the 19-year-old shooting victim and 5089 person was on the stoop outside this house at a party. a man ran up and said give he me everything you got and lifted his shirt and showed a handgun. the victim tried to tackle him. the victim was faster. he shot the victim in the upper leg. >> my roommate said there were gunshots. and then it got quiet and the music stopped. >> reporter: the shooter was described as 35 to 40-year-old man, thin, 5'8" wearing a red sweatshirt and hoodie. investigators are working to find if another robbery is

fireball.ok to twitter to talk nasa said 100 tons of meteors enter the earth's atmosphere every day, most in the form of dust, gravel and big rocks. incredible that you could see that from earth. >> reporter: what is is more impressive, it's something as the size of a grain of sand. it's usually really, really small when it comes through and makes that huge huge light. >> beautiful. >> reporter: let's go live on sky 6. let's show you what's going on. we have cloud cover, that's the view in cape may. it's not going to be a beach day. yesterday we had highs in the mid 50s on the water. today the same thing, maybe a few degrees milder. the good news we're not expecting too much in the way of a breeze. it will not feel harsh you'll not be dealing with windchills. storm tracker 6 live double scan we're crystal clear, no precipitation, nor are we expecting any this afternoon.

temperature-wise, 46 degrees, dewpoint, 40. wind are out of the west at 5 miles per hour, that's a good sign it's in the process of shifting and eventually this will go out of the southwest and that will help to warm things up. pressure reading 29.94. 35 in the poconos. 46 in philadelphia. trenton, 42. wilmington, 42. 41 in millville. dover 45 and sea isle city, 48 degrees, lots of cloud cover across the mid atlantic states we have a system that's passing on by to our east. we're not getting rainfall out that, but, again it's throwing back cloud cover in the delaware valley. the wider view shows the jet stream starting to arc across the western states. it's like a seesaw effect. what must go up, must come down. that's is driving down east of the continental divide.

it will be warmer across the western states and colder across the eastern seaboard. bismarck 29 degrees, omaha, 37. saint louis, 37. chicago, 35 degrees, the real cold stuff is north of the u.s./canadian border. there's the leading edge of the polar front that dives south and east. fortunately there's not too much in the way of snow cover out here. as the air mass dives into the lower 48. it will modify a little bit, none the less it will be cold for this time of year. as we look at the surface maps that's pushing through and that's kicking the coastal system out to sea. we'll see cloud cover this morning and sunshine by the afternoon. monday looks great, high pressure rolls in, lots of sunshine start to finish, winds out of the southwest, temperatures in the 60s, here's today's high, 56 degrees in philadelphia. allen be town, 52. it will be a few degrees milder

that were that. trenton, 55. wilmington, 54. we get into monday, you can see the shifting wind out of the southwest we're up to 62 degrees monday, tuesday afternoon the numbers continue to climb. we have good news first, the colder badder news that comes at the second half of the week in philadelphia. clouds and sun that's the call from accuweather, slightly milder, 56 degrees, winds out of the northwest at 5 to 10. you can see how the day plans out on the left-hand side of the screen with the day planner. overnight tonight, another cold night, but not too terribly cold. 33 degrees out lying suburbs, 39 for center city. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast shows a nice moderating trend for tuesday and wednesday. 60 degrees monday, 67 for tuesday, wednesday breezy and warm, 65 and then the cold front slams through wednesday night and does a number on the temperatures. thursday's high, 47 degrees, remember the normal is 60. friday, cool, 42.
