"action news" reporter dann cuellar has the story. dramatic cellphone captured shows the firey scene 28 and tasker. >> the cop car a flame comes out of the hood of the car. couple seconds later the car exploded and burst into flames. >> before 5:30 and 17 district officer cruise her klided with a pickup truck. joseph chambers a firefighter happened to be visiting his sister on the block and jumped into action and rurkd to the

officer. >> i said you can get out he said i can't feel my legs. his door was jammed shut i can't get you out through the door i have to get you out through the window. >> dante johnson held chambers pull the officer out of the burning police cruiser. >> the cop had a minor scratch on his head and pretty much messed up his leg that. was about it. if we had not seen and he would have been hurt bad. >> hes with in shock in and out of consciousness. he said i can't feel my legs. >> once he got the officer over to the curb it burst into flamesch the flames were shooting like so high it was like this whole you corner was yellow. >> the rescueers also pulled 52-year-old driver of the pickup truck unconscious to safety. >> i kept his neck stable while me and two other guys pulled him out and laid him done checked his pulse and he was breathing and he was out of it but he was alive. >> the officer and passenger in the truck were taken to the

hospital of the university of pennsylvania for treatment treatment. chambers later visited the officer and posed for this picture. >> he was there with a couple buddies they all said thank you. the ones not there at the scene said thank you and talked to him a little. he was glad i was there to help him out. and i was there and i was glad i was there to be a part of it. >> back here where you see the charred remains of the police cruiser the 0-year-old officer and driver ever the truck will be all right. we may call joe chambers and dante johnson heros they say no they were doing what anyone else would have done. in south philadelphia, dann cuellar, "channel 6 action news" a man is dead and snon critical condition after the father shot his son and them himself until paoli. late last night officers were called to unit block of summit avenue and the victim john r. williams was able to tell them he was shot by his father. they located 70-year-old john richard berry at another address on the block. berry shot himself in the head

and died this afternoon. williams remains in critical condition and investigators say the father and son had a dispute over financial matters. >> police in philadelphia are serving are to the person that shot and killed a woman overnight in tioga-nicetown near the corner of 16th street and rowan walk. she was found lying on the street with one gunshot wound to the back of the head. >> a confrontation at strip club in south philadelphia resulted in gunfire overnight club onyx on columbus boulevard. they opened fire on a patron after he tried to run them over with a car. investigators say the victim was angry of being kicked out of the club. he sustained gun shot wounds to shoulders and legs and no word on any charges. >> it happened 5 p.m. near front and vine streets. investigators arrived on the scene and were unable to find the victim.

it turned out he was taken to cooper university hospital in a private car. he was pronounced dead a short time later no. suspects in custody at this time. >> now to a show of support for a little boy who takes the a great deal of tragedy at a young age. chester county community is rallying to try to bring some sense of joy and normalcy to a 6-year-old brother of scotty mcmillan. he was tore tushd and killed at the hands he trusted the most. annie mccormick is live in the satellite center with the full story. any. >> reporter: sa after, there's so many gestures of support many that didn't know scotty. today that continued when a motorcycle club held a warm winter clothing and also toy drive for surviving brother. his bright red hair and smile are forever in the mind of people, some who never heat him. but they are sickened to hear the torture and beatings-year-old scotty mcmillan endured before his

death allegedly at the hands of his mother jillian tait and her boyfriend gary fellenbaum. the district attorney calling it an american hor owe story and vowing to seek the death penalty. >> it's so fresh to me right now i don't know what to think. it's sick. >> sunday's strangeers from the bike club infamous riders of chester county they focused on his 6-year-old brother ryan who shared the home where his brother died. he is in the custody of family. >> we're asking for gifts for him and clothing for school. winter items such as coats, jackets, gloves, things to keep him warming fort winter and take a smile on his face. we'll take him to ryan and meet up with his aunt kimberly tate and get to meet him and see the smile on his face. >> you can't do enough in this type of situation. toys are nothing. it will make him feel better than what we're here to do. >> in the parking lot of downingtown police station strangers came. many thankful for a way to help.
