and to karen rogers to take a look at your weather and your commute. good morning. >> one more mild day and it starts outweigh mild morning. right now we've got cloud cover down along the shore and a little bit of cloud cover also spilling in over philadelphia. we'll probably see that break up a little bit as the morning goes on. also starting out with a big issue in all those coastal counties. there's a dense fog advisory until 10 o'clock this morning in these counties with visibility down below a quarter mile. some of the visibilities showing you exactly where the fog is right now. as you get up toward philadelphia it still looks fairly clear but there's the chance some of this begins to migrate towards the city as well later this morning. quarter mile down visibility along the coast so take it slow. temperatures are very mild this morning. 57 degrees in philadelphia, even in allentown we're over 50 right now and pushing towards 60 in some spots including wilmington and those coastal communities. as we head out the door to catch the bus we're going to go for much milder conditions than what we've had the last couple mornings. 55 degrees by 6 o'clock, 56 by 8 o'clock. mainly cloudy and there is that chance of some fog

especially over by the coast. as we roll through the day, it's going to be mild for the first half of the day but i do want to point out that even though we get up to about 63 by noon and then by 2 o'clock, 66 degrees, that's your high. we're back down to 64 by 3 o'clock and then by 6 o'clock, plunging all the way to 53 so that cooler air is going to be arriving gradually as we go through the afternoon today. karen, it sticks around for awhile. i'll have details coming up in the seven day. >> all right dave. starting this morning with a serious accident in northeast philadelphia, cottman a avenue and algon accident. an accident. we're hearing there are people injured on the scene. stick to rhawn street or levick and take whitaker or castor avenue instead of cottman avenue with emergency crews on the scene. we have construction on the tacony palmyra bridge blocking lanes in both directions but that should only last for another half hour. other than that look pretty good. for the most part speeds are moving nicing. it's verierly and not too many

people out there just yet. on the ben franklin bridge westbound traffic heading towards center city no problems. looking good this morning on the ben. we had an accident that cleared in springhouse montgomery county on 309 at bethlehem pike so things looking much better there for now, matt. >> sounds g thank you, karen. let's begin with a developing story. gunfire erupting in north philadelphia leaving one man dead. police say the victim was in his 20's. he was shot multiple pell times at close range along the 2200 block of north colorado street just after 11 o'clock last night. medics rushed him to temple hospital where he died a short time later. police have not told us his name. they also haven't said who killed him or why. an la lakers star is mourning the loss of his father who was shot and killed in philadelphia and police are still looking for that killer as well. "action news" reporter. ay katherine scott is live at police headquarters to set get us up to date on the investigation. katherine. >> reporter: matt, detectives here at the homicide division are

investigating but so far there have been no arrests in this case. the victim's son plays for the l.a. lakers, he's on leave while he grieves with his family. >> sad to hear this news. as soon as i get out the locker room, it was devastating for me. >> reporter: on sunday night l.a. lakers guard wayne ellington has parter of the team's first win this season. right after the game he heard the news. his father wayne ellington sr. had been shot and killed back in philadelphia. >> i went from a very high feeling of excitement and joy to the lowest i ever felt in my life. >> reporter: philadelphia police say ellington, sr. was found inside his car on the 5200 block of marion street. he had been shot in the head. ellington's wife of 34 years got the news over the phone. >> i could hear crying. screaming and crying in the background so i knew it wasn't good news and they called me back to let me know that it was worse than what we thought >> reporter: ellington jr.

explains his father played a huge role in his basketball career first putting a ball in his hands at five years old. he later was a standout player at episcopal high school. his father would always text him before his games. sunday was the last time. >> i don't think it really set into me next that my next game my dad's not going to text me. >> reporter: and the family wants answers, so do police. anyone with any information is asked to call the homicide division. we're live at police headquarters, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> so sad. thank you, katherine. an arrest warrant has been issued for the man who police say drove his red corvette into the delaware river. officials say 49-year-old john kramer of northeast philadelphia was engaged in a long running dispute with his estranged wife. that led him to driving the 1990 corvette into the river in tacony. >> happening today, blooming grove, the state police barracks in pike county where trooper bryon dixon was killed will reopen.

we have also learned trooper alex douglas who was injured in the ambush back in september was brought to a new york city hospital on monday night for surgery. state police won't say why, only that it was not an emergency. now, douglas was shot in the pelvis and has been recovering from the injury. police captured accused gunman eric frein on a -- after a freight day manhunt. preliminary hearing scheduled in philadelphia today for murder defendant dion jordan. police say jordan confessed to gunning down dallas long last month. jordan is also facing bank robbery charges. they say he wore a $1,500 mask and wig to rob banks in philadelphia and bucks county, plus police say jordan kidnapped a man and held him for ransom last month leading to his arrest. >> new this morning president obama and the president of china announced new agreements that cover military cooperation trade and global warming. the president talked about the global warming deal during a

news conference this morning with chinese president. >> i commend the president, his team and the chinese government for the commitment they are making to slow, peak and then reverse the course of china's carbon emissions. >> the president says the new u.s. goal is to cut emissions by 26 to 28 percent by the year 2025. that's up from an earlier goal of 17 percent but china has not agreed to any specific cutting of emissions. it says its goal is for those emissions to peek by 2030. >> check out this sky 6 picture we have from atlantic city, new jersey. fog along the coastline and other areas of south jersey and also in the state of delaware. david will be back with the accuweather forecast and karen rogers, of course, will be telling to us how this is impacting the roads this morning. now for your first look at business. we are at the big board to deliver it to you. a mall near buffalo, new york, is threatening to fine any

retailer that does not open at 6:00 p.m. on thanksgiving. it says it needs to compete with other malls in the area that are opening at the same time. it's unclear how much the mall plans to finery tailers. store owners are outraged. the general manager of harrah's philadelphia in chester delaware county says he opposes plans to open a second casino in philadelphia. ron baumann says the region's gambling industry is already coping way two year slide in revenues. the pennsylvania gaming control board plans a vote next week. turning to wall street, stocks eked out slight gains on tuesday. futures indicate we could see a drop at the opening bell. a flight data site ranks chicago o'hare's airport as the worst airport in america for winter travelers who want to be on time and avoid crowds. the site hopper says 42 percent of flights are delayed at o'hare during the winter. new york liberty international also made the list. and we had some breaking

news coming in right now. a car smashed onto the lawn of northeast high school in philadelphia. the action cam is live there. you just saw the car. looks like there's another car involved as well. looks like they probably smashed into the front end of each vehicle. both drivers rushed to aria torresdale hospital with multiple injuries. there are obviously some traffic issues at this location. we'll also be checking to see if this at all impacts northeast high school's opening today, but it's part of our breaking news we're following this morning. >> happening today, a mega millions ticket bought in delaware expires and it's worth thousands of dollars. the delaware lottery says somebody bought that ticket on november 12th of last year at the 7-eleven on folk road in women to. it has a cash value of $25,000. the winning numbers are 20, 30, 32, 42 and 71. the mega ball is 15 and the mega player is five.

>> 4:43 now. we're tracking some fog in some spots. not everyone seeing right now. >> down by the coast in particular very dense fog out there. let's take a look at storm tracker 6 live double scan. no precipitation but we're looking at a little bit of drizzle down by the coast where the fog has been at its thickest. we're looking at the airport in philadelphia. look at the little -- looking a little misty above the lights on the left but generally speaking visibility is better up around

philadelphia than it is the closer you get to the coast. the temperature right now is 57 degrees, that's right, 57. that's right around today's average high, so very mild for this time of year to start out. winds are out of the east at just 3 miles per hour. satellite and radar showing you low lying cloud cover in place in and around philadelphia. as we go through the day we'll begin to see some of these breaks ride in. there is a little precipitation out to the west of us but that doesn't look like it will be much of an issue as it pushes towards the east. temperatures are going the keep going up for awhile then kind of turn around. 56 by 8 o'clock, fair amount of clouds early. 60 by 11 o'clock. of clouds early. break back through by then and then your high today is 2 o'clock, 66 degrees but we turn around and really start to drop those numbers in a hurry this afternoon and by 5 o'clock we could be all the way town to 56 degrees and cooler than that by dinnertime. high temperatures across the region, again all of these hitting somewhere in the 1:30 to 2 o'clock period. 63 degrees in allentown, 65 in

trenton. might even top out a little bit earlier up to the north and west, 66 in wilmington. excuse me. then looks like we'll get up to about 66 in cape may and atlantic city as well. probably waiting until about 3 o'clock for that high temperature to hit down at the shore. future tracker, though, shows you temperatures and here's how we're going to go today. starting out mild and by 1:30 or maybe 2 o'clock we'll be around our high in the mid 60's but then watch what happens during the afternoon hours. that cool air starts to come in behind a passing front. by 5 o'clock we're down to 56 degrees in philadelphia. and then later tonight by 11:00 all the way down into the 40's and that's going to be the end of the mild ride because when we get up tomorrow morning we're down into the 30's and this is actually starting tomorrow morning one of the milder mornings: after that we'll be closer to freezing when you wake up on friday and saturday morning so the cooler air is on its way in and it really starts to push in later this afternoon. your exclusive accuweather 7-day, clouds and sun today, starting out cloudy, winding up with a little bit more sun and a high of 66 degrees.

and then brisk and chilly on thursday, 51 degrees. now, at night a little feature is going to come through where we could see a sprinkle or maybe a flurry which will get you all excited if you see that flurry but it's not going to be a whole lot of precipitation, okay. so, this is just a little pop overnight. then down the 45 for a high on friday and 46 saturday. sunday we do have a storm system that is going to start making its way toward us. 49 degrees is your high in the afternoon with maybe a shower during the day. but in the evening we'll be looking at rain or maybe even a wet snow shower. best chance of wet snow would be north and west of philadelphia. not expecting this to be a major problem but of course it's something you want to be careful of if you start to see wet snowflakes. again we are looking at thursday night at 11:00 here on "action news" we'll be unveiling that accuweather winter weather outlook. looks like it already wants to act like winter a little bit in our accuweather 7-day forecast but we'll take you through the season and let you know whether or not we think we're going to get above average, below average temperatures and the same thing with snow. >> looking forward to seeing

"action news" reporter erin o'hearn is live at the big board with more on this story that is blowing up the web.

good morning. >> good morning, tam. mercedes benz or not this woman's behavior was certainly bizarre. here are pictures of this woman. as you can see she looks pregnant, she's on the side of the street in a california parking lot asking for money holding a cardboard sign there. then if you look at another one, you can see her little boy with her. lost that picture. and he's about four or five years old. she apparently stands on this corner every weekends but one shopper in the area started to get suspicious. melissa smith says when the woman stands on the corner on the weekends plenty of people give her money but recently when smith was getting gas she saw the woman in her usual spot but then after panhandling for awhile, the mother son and a man get into a mercedes benz. smith claims the couple was in the car laughing and counting money. equally disturbing the little boy wasn't in the car seat. in fact, he didn't even have a seat belt on. when the couple stopped at another shopping center to panhandle again, smith's started taking pictures so she could show her friends that according to her the couple

had as no business asking for money if they were driving an expensive car. >> next thing i know she picks up this big boulder about this big, goes over her head so i don't know if pregnant people can do that, but it was pretty big, over her head and coming at me with this rock. >> now t-a bystander saw the confrontation and called 911 but the couple and the little boy had left before police arrived. smith says she wants people to know about this couple because she believes they are using their son to beg for money, that in her opinion they don't need. now, this story is getting a lot of social buzz. i'm going to put it up on my facebook. is the couple running a scam or is this one woman being too judgmental? we really don't know what this couple is going through because we haven't heard from them. post your comments now. maybe i'll read some of them on air at 5:30 and 6:30. tam and matt. >> i think you're going get a lot of comments, erin. it is 4:49. still ahead on "action news," fear in ferguson. tensions are high as the town awaits the michael brown grand

delaware valley looking really good near delaware valley. construction blocking the right lane. little bit of yellow. maybe a touch slow there but not a big deal. northeast philadelphia a serious accident with injuries on cottman avenue blocking it at algon avenue. stick to rhawn or levick street instead, tam. >> thank you karen. no one knows exactly when the grand jury will announce its decision in the killing of michael brown but officials in missouri say they want to be ready for whatever happens when it does. the unarmed teenager was shot by a police officer over the summer and the grand jury must decide whether or not it's going to charge that policeman. in the event that the grand jury's decision prompts unrest, missouri's governor says the state highway patrol as well as the saint louis county and ferguson police will work as one command to secure that area. and he says he's prepared to use the national guard if needed. the grand jury's decision must be revealed by january. >> the search is on for two people who robbed a jewelry store in the heart of new york city in broad daylight. it happened less than a block
