here is what is happening on "action news" with a gun, that is what a serial robber is using across philadelphia, we are live with the stories. plus, new information behind the wheel of the corvette launched into the delaware river, it only took ten years and 300 million miles but history in space today for the first ever landing on a comet and sharrie williams has details. now, the latest tonight, a female thief is terrorizing businesses across the city. according to police she has hit seven times and targeted retailers and even a person walking down the street. kenneth moton is live now where a store was hit twice. >> reporter: rick, that store is angela's mini market robbed

twice in a ten day period. new information this evening, police believe it's possible that the woman in these robberies was recruited by a man to commit the crimes, sometimes armed with a large knife and other times a handgun. she covered a lot of ground in south and southeast philadelphia hitting seven businesses in the last month. >> it gets more aggressive especially this time of your as we head towards the holidays. they captured the same female robber, dark hoody and a mask grabbing cash and leaving with the money. the most recent during the day at 1:00 p.m. last monday at the 50th street market. they identified an accomplice of

29-year-old antoine burgess, who can be seen on video giving the woman instructions before one of the robberies. >> in one of the videos she appears shaky. this male is a person of interest, we are looking for the public's help in getting mr. burgess into custody. >> they hope that the man will lead them to the woman that is terrorizing businesses. >> were you scared? >> i couldn't breathe. >> this 15-year-old girl was working the register at her family's store, angela's market, the business was hit twice and the team was there both times. >> she is greedy. >> during these robberies nobody was injured including a teenager who was walking down the street when the knife-wielding robber

walked up. she got away with about $1200s from both businesses and is described as having a raspy voice. they left one scene in a town and country minivan. >> thank you. this is 33-year-old marcos ortega, he was driving south on route 9 when he hit a pedestrian and authorities say he drof more than a mile with the man stuck there before an officer pulled him over the victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. two people were injured in a fast moving fire in north philadelphia today, chopper 6 hd overhead as firefighters tackled the flames on the roof on the 4700 block of north franklin street. one man was rushed to the hospital with burns off his body and the other person was taken

to the hospital with unknown injuries. a man wanted for robbing and sexually assaulting a woman at gun point. geovany ortiz is the man seen in this video, police say he followed the victim from the golden dragon chinese take yourt and the victim was forced into his own home where he was attacked. we have an update to a story that "action news" brought you monday about the corvette that plunged into the delaware river, the man behind the wheel is now under arrest. 49-year-old john cramer was taken into custody this afternoon. witnesses tell police that cramer intensionally drove the car into the water and told by standers that it was a family matter.

the windows on cars in delaware. but the big story is police investigating the drowning of a 15-month-old boy in a backyard gold fish pond, it happened at sunshine day care on shar lane. sara bloomquist is live at the day care center tonight. who do investigators think happened here? >> this is where roxanne lacey lives and she was caring for six small children, yesterday that 15-month-old boy got into the backyard and fell into a fish pond, about a foot deep. police say he did drown and the death appears to be an accident but tonight an investigation is underway. neighbors tell us that roxanne lacey cared for children in her home called sunshine day care for years and they called
