62-year-old woman was pronounced on the scene. 57-year-old woman is in the hospital in stable condition and this is where the property where police are focusing on where the woman was found dead. when police were called to 53rd an market around 3:00 a.m. they were met by the 57-year-old woman who lives inside the property in a rear first floor apartment. the victim lived in the front first floor apartment. the units connect through a bathroom. three men in hoodies wearing masks. the struggled with the roommate and her. the roommate was pronounced on the scene she was naked and bruised. there are no signs of forced expwre and no signs -- entry and no signs of robbery. the 57-year-old roommate had minor bruising, medics took her to the hospital, but again she

is in stable condition. >> since she is the only witness and the individual who was with the deceased right now she is being watched by the police. although she is at the hospital. homicide detectives will interview her. >> reporter: homicide detectives are going to be at the hospital, they are here, as well. the crime scene is inside this home investigators are getting a search warrant that's the protocol to search the premises, but, again we know a 62-year-old woman is pronounced dead the investigation is on going. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> thanks for the update catherine. developing right now a fast-moving fire damaged three homes in southwest philadelphia overnight. everyone was inside was able to flee the flames coming from the 5400 block of florence avenue. the red cross said 6 people from two families have been displaced. fire started at 2:00 a.m. firefighters have not said which

house. people live in two of the homes. the third was empty. an elderly woman was badly burned in a house fire in the city's frankford neighborhood. police and fire crews worked together to pull the woman out of the burning building. she was rushed to the hospital and is in critical condition right now. investigators have not told us her name or how the fire started. >> 5:35, new this morning, the man accused of driving his ex-wife's corvett into the delaware river faced a judge overnight. john kramer was released on $15,000 bail. he was in a long-running fight with his ex-wife and decided to drive her 1990 corvett into the river as revenge. he has another hearing next

month. a man barricaded himself inside a home on east providence road in upper darby. police say he fired 8 shots at officers who had surrounded the house. nobody was hurt. police were able to get inside the house and bring the man out safely. >> a meeting over a proposed casino in south philadelphia turned into a neighborhood protest and pitted neighbors opposed to the plan with union leaders. >> you didn't file the intervention papers. >> ivew local 98 chief johnny dorkerty was booed. union leaders argue the neighborhood would benefit from a spike in jobs, but people were

this was not a employ idea. a man wanted to let his ex-girlfriend know hey sister there are plenty of other chicks out there, i don't need you. he mailed her 15 baby chicks. the woman said she was going to throw the baby chickens into the trash. so the mailman took them back and brought them to the washington humane society. we checked it's legal to be a jerk and legal to mail these baby chicks. >> really inhumane. >> reporter: let's take you outside, we're getting reports of a jackknifed tractor-trailer
