bloomquist is off and in the news, getting ready to skate outside of city hall, we'll take you live to the brand new ice rink at dillworth park and the good news for drivers all across the region. and the big story on "action news" anoon is an early taste of the the winter chill after the first taste of snow overnight. as you step outside bundled up is the only way to be. people are venturing out with heavy jackets and the cold is mixing with the biting wind, as we look live from wilmington, it's a bright but chilly scene here in delaware. for more on today's forecast and a peek at the weekend as well. lets check in with meteorologist, david murphy, outside in the chilly conditions. >> this is the first noon i have worn a winter coat this season so far. we started out chilly and it's feeling rather cold outside. take a look at satellite, there is cloud cover welling in from

the west now, but we have enjoyed a fairly sunny morning mixing with clouds and you see the precipitation from overnight that dropped snow on the grassy surfaces around the region but that is now all gone. however, behind that system it's cool. the current temperature in philadelphia is 41 and 39 in allentown and 38 in reading and 40 in wilmington and 40 in trenton. a couple degrees better at the shore. but the wind is a factor. dropping down at 18 miles per hour, and a couple of spots are in the single digits. the windchills are making it feel like it's the freezing mark in philadelphia. as though the winter coat is a good idea. it's staying chilly. 45 degrees. look how far below the average of 57 is. tonight's low is down to 29 degrees, also well below average, and we are in the seat

skating for the grand opening and ribbon cutting. this is an apropos site. some ice skating on a chilly november afternoon. >> can you skate david? >> i tried several times but one of my feet works. years ago at one of the ice rinks ago, i did okay. lets go ahead and get you outside. it's appropriate that it's as cool as it is out there. dry on stormtracker 6 live double scan that is for sure. as we look outside at the airport. the sunshine is beaming on down there, the sun rays are coming out from behind the clouds from the distance, it's not a day to go outside, unless you plan on bundling up. the problem though is that wind at 18 miles per hour. the windchill down around the freezing mark and staying close to that as we go through the afternoon, low 40s up and down the i-95 corridor and low 40s

down the shore as well and a couple of degrees better and out in lancaster, there are the winds creeping down through the region in the north-northwest and in the teens in most spots and adding to the chilly feel. we have rain giving way to snow overnight and some of you wound up with a coating or more on that in some northern and western suburbs last night and then into this morning. that is all gone now and additional clouds are winging back down out of the northwest, we are looking at a lot of sunshine getting in between the clouds, and we call for a lot of sun in the region including allentown but the cool wind and a high temperature of only 41 and windchills in the mid-30s in the lehigh valley, down the shore 45 and mostly sunny skies and a cold wind blowing down the shore giving you windchills in the 30s most of the day. and in philadelphia, pretty much the same story, 35 and sunny skies and clouds are digging in at times and chilly with the

winds running northwest at 12 to 25 miles per hour. clearing out tonight but very cold, down to 29 degrees and the winds drop off and chilly in philadelphia, and some suburbs getting into the mid-20s overnight. for evening commute no big problems weather-wise, and 42 degrees by 4:30 and 49 by 5:30 and if are you headed out to some high school football playoff games tonight, look for clear and cold conditions, winds dying down to 10 to 15 miles per hour. that will make it chilly when the temperatures are 37 at 7:00 and the freezing mark at 10:00. and then saturday a lot of sunshine and less wind but enough of a breeze out of the north to give us windchills in the 30s with another high of 45, your exclusive accuweather forecast, today's high 45, windy

and then snow in the northern tier and parts of south jersey and philadelphia. the whole thing was over at 2:00 in the morning, not impressive amounts in ewing up near trenton and chadds ford, only .2 inch of and allentown set a record for yesterday's date, a half inch. west collin township, 2.1 inches, that was one of the higher amounts we recorded overnight. behind that snow on the cold side, we started out at 35 degrees in philadelphia, windshields in the 20s, and the rest of the day will stay chilly. 41 is the high at 2:00, and it will feel like the upper 30s with the wind blowing and 42 by 4:00 and as early as 6:00 we are in the upper 30s and mid-30s by 10:00 tonight and the winds die

also robbed a wal-mart in vineland, new jersey, two days later. this is 22-year-old omar johnson, police say that he and two accomplices threatened two victims at gun point and forced them into the back seat of their own car last saturday evening, the robbers took almost $5,000 from the victim's atm accounts. anybody with knowledge of johnson's whereabouts are told to call the police. >> a surveillance camera captured two men and two women casing barski jewellers, about 4:00 a.m. last saturday they cut open the security gate smashed a window to get inside. they stole various rings and the infra reds makes their jackets
