harvey road that is still closed because of the police activity. silverside road an alternate there. and gloucester county construction still going on on the new jersey turnpike. speeds in the teens in both directions. 295 a much better bet in that neck. woods. lots of detouring this evening. >> all right, thank so much. immigrants hoping to pass the test in philadelphia are getting some help tonight from one of their own. a new tour called the philadelphia new americans tour launched today. a self-guided tour of 13 different local historic and cultural attractions. it was designed by a local immigrant who realized that 2/3 of the area questions on the citizenship test are about philadelphia events. in center city, some 10,000 letters are ready to be shipped off to the vatican for pope francis. the letters were written by catholic school students throughout philadelphia inviting the pope to come to the city of brotherly love there is a possibility the pontiff will visit next year as part of the world meeting of families

through the air not amounting to anything. an identification of cold air mass and winds out of the northwest. lake-effect flurries. in philadelphia 40 degrees, but it dropped down to 36 in wilmington. allentown and reading 37. millville 37. sea isle city 38. the winds generally only 5-10 miles per hour, but even with the light winds when temperatures are that low you do get a wind chill effect. it feels like 37 until allentown. 34 in trenton. feels like 31 in sea isle city and feels like 29 in wilmington. you definitely want the winter coat tonight. satellite 6 along with action radar showing the system bringing the first snowflakes of the year moves off and really a dominant feature is the arctic high pressure bringing cold air to the eastern half of the nation. this high pressure brings us loads of sunshine tomorrow but chilly. the high only 43 degrees. winds generally the light side.

heading into sunday, the high pressure slips off the coast and a cold front approaches out of the west. this shifts the winds out of the southwest. it will still be cool, but a little bit milder than tomorrow. 49 degrees. the flip side it is clouding up, not as sunny as tomorrow. and wednesday, the low pressure rides along the front bringing us damp and dreary conditions. you can the umbrella monday. futuretracker shows 10:00 monday morning the rain is here. you'll notice any snow missing as well to the north, so really on the milder side of the storm system. as i understand the h his -- system on tuesday, temperatures 20 degrees below normal with a big dip in the jet stream. and wind gusts, 35-40 miles per hour. so afternoon wind chills likely around 20 degrees. tuesday is going to be pretty brutal. next 12 hours tonight, the coldest night since march. 22 degrees in the cooler

♪ "action news." delaware valley's leading news program with ducis rodgers, meteorologist cecily tynan and jim gardner. >> it is friday night. the big story on "action news" tonight is a state trooper opening fire on a criminal suspect late today in claymont, delaware. the suspect is now in the hospital in critical condition. the gunfire came after a chase, and police have shutdown the roads in the area. live at the scene tonight is it "action news" reporter, annie mccormick. >> jim, this is still a very

fresh investigation. still waiting to find out a number of details, including if there was an exchange of gunfire. who fired first. what we do know, what is confirmed by the delaware state police is an adult male suspect was shot by a trooper. and at this hour remains at christiana hospital in critical condition. robert there zoom in there by garfield and harvey. that is the scene where it did unfold. a number of cop cars are lighting up this residential neighborhood in claymont, delaware as they investigate the scene. the video from chopper 6 hd, what we do know so far, this was a short pursuit which began around 4:15 at wilson road and maple lane. it moved towards i-95 and shots fired not far from where we are at harvey and garfield where the shots were fired by the state trooperment closed between i-95 and the philadelphia turnpike,
