we're seeing a ton of cold air across the lower 48. the core of the colder is buildings across the high plains and shifts east next week. i'll have that in about ten minutes. >> the investigation is just beginning in delaware after state police shot and killed a man after he led them on a wild chase. the man was suspected in an armed robbery and attempted armed robbery yesterday morning. annie mccormick has the details. >> reporter: delaware state police on the scene in claymont at harvey road and garfield avenue where a police pursuit ended with this corolla crashed and the suspect shot and transported to christian hospital where he later died. >> the state cop was right on his bumper. i almost got hit. thomas mcnaulty almost got caught up in the chase, didn't

realize his nephew billy was the suspect they were pursuing. >> else a great person he has a lot of issues going on with him. he has his whole life. else a great person. >> i talked to the state trooper and asked if he alive. >> reporter: homicide investigators joined the troopers who kept the road lit looking for evidence. according to family own court records he was arrested in 2010 for taking police through a chase through claymont. recently the family said he was distraught and questioned whether there was suicide by cop. >> he had problems with drug addiction and clean himself up and go back to it. >> reporter: state police not rereleasing many details, but only saying that no troopers were injured. annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." >> authorities in camden county are searching for a man wanted

for two murders. take a look at elliot knock who shot and killed daniel damon on morgan boulevard. that same day he killed nelson jackson. knock is considered armed and dangerous, call police if you know where's. the 48 day machine hunt for accused cop killer eric frein cost taxpayers 11 millions dollars. that's only the bill for state police and does not include federal agencies that took part in comaking the woods in the poconos for the self describeds. philadelphia police need your help to identify two teens vandalizing a manayunk park.

the new movie fox catcher opens nationwide. it's the story of murder of olympic dave shultz right here in the delaware valley. we talk to the director who brought this haunting tragedy to the big screen. >> actor steve correll turns in an uncanny portrayal of john dupont. he died in prison four years ago, correll brings him back to life. dupont shot and killed dave shultz on his fox catcher estate in newtown square. shultz and his brother mark lived on the estate along with others training for the olympics. it's a film director bennett miller was trying to make for 8 years. >> it was something i wanted to do, these characters were so

bizarre. >> reporter: his lawyer said he often spoke to him three times a day. >> i said is john okay? >> she said no, they are saying that he shot dave. i said what? >> reporter: a two day stand off followed with dupont bar indicated inside, police tackled when he emerged to check on a furnace to shut off. many witnessed his bizarre behavior in the years leading up to the murder. they tried to get him help, but he disappeared every time they set up an appointment. he said they never thought it would end with murder. >> i'm not sure that i or anyone else would put pieces together and say this is a program for a killing. nobody saw that. >> reporter: dupont was eventually found guilty, but

mentally i will and sentenced 13 to 30 years in prison. he died in 2010. dupont left 80% of his vast estate to bulgarian wrestler. the lawyer and others control the other 20% they say they will set up a mental health foundation. dave shultz family sued dupont estate and lives in california david henry, channel 6 "action news." a study shows one age group isn't saving enough money. we'll explain how bad it is. plus, how to get the best deals if you're heading to the outlets for holiday shopping.

this morning. millville, 23 degrees. allentown and atlantic city, 24. pilots, 26. philadelphia, 32. these were the coldest windchills, felt like 17 in millville. 19 in allentown. 18 in atlantic city, 22 in pottstown. 35 riebility -- right now in reading, 35 in the poconos fortunately we're seeing sunshine out there, that will help things a bit. we're seeing lake-effect snow. we're expecting sunshine from start to finish. if you're traveling you may want to check ahead because we have a swath of snow that will drop 2 to 4 inches from west to east across the midwest into the great lake states later this afternoon into the overnight. once that passes on by to the north it turns on the lake effect machine.

some of the areas on the eastern side of the great lakes could see one to two feet. on top of that we have unseasonable cold air encompassing the entire 48. these are windchills. feels like 10 below in bismarck. feels like 3 # in dallas. 24 in atlanta. look how cold it is up across the high plains, 16 below in rapid city. 10 below in bismarck, and 14 below in casper, wyoming. it is moving easter but will modify before it gets here. lots of sunshine chilly temperatures, highs topping out around 43. we get into sunday, the high slides off the coast, that will allow the clouds to increase from the southwest. we'll start out with sunshine, increasing clouds during the day. monday, even though it's cold right now, it will start to retreat a little bit, by the time we start the new workweek. the next system that rolls in

26-year-old's body was found by a family member. the victim was seen alive on sunday. while the cause is yet to be determined, police are considering it a suspicious death. in millville, cumberland county, police say foul play is suspected in the death of a man. chopper 6 flew over oak view apartments east broad street last night. a man was found dead inside the courtyard. police have not said how he died, and they have not released his name. in egg harbor city a vigil was held for two victims of an arson. they were killed when fire hit their home. police have charged 38-year-old joseph palmer iii with setting the blaze. both deaths have been ruled a homicide. a young man allegedly assaulted by a pack of college football players is talking to "action news." philadelphia native louis campbell was attacked by 6

bridge. you can see crystal, clear skies, windchills are in the 20s and 0s. feels like 28 in philadelphia. that's something you would typically see in january, not the middle of november. allentown, 27. poconos 23. dover, 28. lancaster, 25. locally we don't have too much going on, mostly sunny skies throughout the entire delaware valley. you have to go out here past harrisburg and williamsport to start picking up cloud cover. that's associated with lake-effect snow steamers that will blanket lake ontario own erie. we're watching the southern jet stream, that counter clockwise swirl that will push east and make the left hand turn up the spine of appalachians with the cold air in place, it will provide snow for these folks out here. for us, we'll tap into the ocean air which is relatively mild
