air and rain. chris sowers has the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. >> reporter: the changes we'll see over the next couple of days will be quick and dramatic. especially monday night into tuesday morning. let's go live on sky 6. we'll get you started with the center city skyline. all is cloudy this morning and that's helping the temperatures up a bit. everybody was in the mid 20s yesterday, now locations are in the mid 30s. millville, 33. trenton, 0. allentown, 28, poconos 27, lancaster, 30 degrees. most locations from 3 to 9 degrees milder than we were yesterday at this time. thankfully the clouds are rolled in and that's helping to keep the temperatures up a little bit. in time what will happen the storm developing in the gulf coast states that will pull north an ride up the appalachians, it will bring a wintery mix to the poconos for 95% of the viewing area it will be a rain event.

10-year-old boy is clipping to life at children's hospital after he accidentally shot himself in the face with his father's gun. we learned how the child got his hands on the gun and who performed cpr on him. police in darby in delaware county received reports 56 child shot at 10:20. when officers arrived they found the boy had a gunshot wound to the face. officers rushed him to the hospital. >> thanks to the alert ntz of the first arriving officers on scene they scooped the child right away. he was lifeless. one officer drove and the other performed cpr in the back of the car. they got him to fitzgerald mercy and he was revived by the time they got him into the er. >> the boy and his sister were

dropped off where his father was working, the boy found the gun in his father's car. workers trying to remove the pnc letters atop the highrise. you remember this scene, crews tried to remove the 60-year-old sign by helicopter, but the operation hit a snag. crews feared the aging letters could fall apart in midair. each weighs 3,000 pounds. expect road closures from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. "action news" was there as the allegation arrived for the afternoon clash against the packers in green bay.d for the both teams have a shot at the conference top playoff seat. it is expected to be brutally cold at the kickoff. mark sanchez never played a game

a game for the bowel it's a milestone, but sandusky scandal is back in the headlines. the school at president is looking at the freeh report issued in the aftershock of the scandal. >> reporter: penn state's president lab on the job since may, why is he now reviewing the report. three years later joe paterno's supporters are trying to clear his name. the nittany lions are bowl eligible for the first time since 2011. >> it does mean something a little bit more special. the fact that we had 49 seniors that stayed around this program when this university and when this community and when this football program needed them the most. >> it's a huge day for the

program and for everything we've been through, it's just great that we can finally get the program to where i think it should be. >> reporter: but it's penn state's president who is making headlines after he promised to talkle and review the freeh report along with the materials produced during the investigation. the contents of the report have led to questions about some in the penn state community. i do not want people to believe that penn state is hiding something. i feel strongly about this. he came to penn state in may long after the report that divided the board of trustees. freeh said joe paterno and hid sandusky's abuse and showed total disregard for the victims. nearly two weeks ago a trustee presented a resolution to visit the investigation calling the

>> welcome back on this sunday, it is 6:12, 38 degrees, sky6 live hd taking a live look at philadelphia international airport there. i think that's phl, not atlantic city. you think it's cold now, it's going to get colder and we're looking at rain, right,y i say? >> reporter: and in between we could reach 60 degrees. let's go live on sky 6 and get you started with the view of atlantic city. there we go, that's atlantic city, you can see the casinos lit up. it's a nice, quite sunday morning. we have cloud cover rolling in overhead and that's helping to keep the temperatures slightly milder than yesterday. there's not much activity, the radars are clear. speaking of radars, storm tracker 6 live double scan you can see a little bit of cloud cover rolling on in. 36 degrees. millville, 33. sea isle city, 37. lancaster, reading, cooler,

30 degrees for above both of the locations. wilmington and dover, 34. all we're seeing is clouds up and down the i-95 corridor from richmond to new york city, snow showers flying across the eastern great lake states exhibits mixed activity for the appalachian mountains. the bigger system we're watching is gathering steam across the gulf coast states. this is an area of low pressure that will come due north up the spine of the appalachians. the wind because they blow in a counter clockwise fashion mean if the low tracks to the west, it will pump in milder air off the ocean. it's all rain for us, behind this system is when some of the real cold stuff starts to pour on in. these are the current temperatures across nation, bismarck, omaha, 11.

as we look ahead here, cloudy skies that will be the general rule. temperatures are will be milder, we're expecting a high of 48 degrees. monday, monday is a washout. periods of rain and it will be heavy at times, expect ponding on roads. with the winds out of the south, southeast we expect temperatures to be close to 60 degrees here and down to the 20s out here and single digits and teens across the western great lake states. we'll see a temperature contrast in a short distance as we head into monday. future tracker 6 we're expecting mainly cloudy cover throughout the day. monday, it will be wet across the western suburbs, mainly cloudy across south jersey, at least by 8:00. you'll notice how the rain

overspreads the area. you can see the pockets of yellow. it will come down heavy at times. there's the cold front right there. the problem with the front, the temperatures will drop off so quickly, once this passes with the area roads being wet there's a possibility of a quick freeze, especially out through here, where the temperature may drop from 55 degrees to 32 within two hours tops. that could freeze things up across the western suburbs. on top of that, look at the windchills by tuesday morning down into the teens and 20s across the viewing area. so, again, high temperatures close to 06 degrees tomorrow and by tuesday morning we're talking about windchills in the teens. mostly cloudy for today, milder, 48 degrees should be our forecasted high, and periods of rain very mild overnight tone compared to the past couple of nights, 35 degrees the outlying suburbs. 41 center city. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, 60 degrees

flight 3537 was able to land around 6:15, nobody was hurt. the boy scouts continue the holiday tradition this weekend to help feed the hungry over the holiday season. they fanned out across the area to pick up bags they dropped off last week, which residents filled with donated food. it's a project which channel 6 has proudly supported for nearly 30 years. "action news" reporter, annie mccormick has more. >> reporter: saturday morning, boy scouts spread across the philadelphia area picked up the bags full of food and sorted them and loaded them to waiting philabundance trucks. along the way they learned a lesson. >> since i have a good life, we need to give back to everybody who can't have it. >> thanksgiving is a day you give thanks. >> the outcome is tremendous. what philabundance doesn't get some of it goes to neighborhood

>> reporter: welcome back everyone, 6:25, sunday morning, a look at the day planner shows temperatures milder thanorning, yesterday. yesterday we topped out around 43, 44. today 48, 49, we'll see cloud cover, those clouds will continue to lower and thicken overnight tonight and then this is the issue over the next 24 to 36 hours. for monday it turns warm. near 60 degrees, it will feel unbelievable.

either at this time. 36 degrees, wilmington, 34. windchills, 34, 36, 30. it's not much of a breeze, the windchills are mirroring the actual air temperatures. the reason for that, we have cloud cover that rolled in overnight. we started out during the evening hours yesterday with a lot of the clear skies, that allowed the temperatures to drop off a bit. while the clouds rolled in, the temperatures climbed while you were asleep. this is sunday afternoon here, we are expecting cloud cover and temperatures in the mid to upper 40s. this is a developing area of low pressure it will pull out of the deep south and ride up the spine of the appalachians providing snow for the great lakes and steady soaking rain for the eastern seaboard. what to expect over the next couple of days, monday looks miserable, especially if you have to work outdoors, bring along the rain gear. and turns icy cold by tuesday

he met his maker, his heart heavily burdened with shame. the tweet that set the internet and the critics on fire, has been deleted. >> we have new information on the ten-year-old boy who accidentally shot himself in the face with his father's gun. the action cam was at the scene late last night. the 1400 block of hockeyen hook road in upper darby. the boy was sitting in the suv when he found the gun under the driver seat and accidentsly shot himself. one police officer drove the boy to the hospital while another gave the child cpr in the back seat. the child is in critical condition. the boy's mother dropped him off at his father's place of work because she had to go to work herself. a driver stabbed another driver during a scuffle and it happened at a busy bucks county

intersection. kenneth moten tracked down the witness who saw it. >> police are calling it a possible road rage investigation as they work to figure out exactly what happened in this intersection. people who saw it unfold after the men attacked each other they ran toward the gas station to get help. it's a busy intersection in warminster, street and york roads, but witnesses say two men didn't care they jumped out of their cars in a fit of rage before one stand stabbed the other. what were they were screaming. >> the one guy stabbed said you're going to jail you stabbed me. >> a 45-year-old hatboro man and 47-year-old warminster man pulled over and started arguing. the man in the sunoco next store watched the men chase each other around the vehicle. one man suffered cuts to the face and the other was stabbed in the stomach.

>> reporter: what went through your mind when you were watching all this. >> i saw the blood coming, it was crazy. i didn't move. >> reporter: workers say the injured man try to get in the store and they locked the doors. the man ran across the street road and continued the fight and a good samaritan try to to break them up. >> i can't believe someone had the nerve to commit a vicious crime that's personal, don't you think, stabbing someone. >> reporter: police responded and paramedics transported one man to doylestown hospital the second to abington. the violent encounter was on the mind of eagles diner employee marry brady. >> it was crazy, we were here all night. couldn't let the cars come in or anything. >> reporter: investigators question both men in the hospitals, no names have been released and we're still waiting for word on charges in this case. reporting in warminster, bucks county, kenneth moten channel 6 "action news."

branch of the jet stream. it's crossing over texas. you can see the flare up down the to the south where the heaviest rains are starting to develop, louisiana southeast of arkansas, this is our storm for monday, it will continue to gather strength and pull toward the northeast bringing us quite a bit of wet weather. once irrelevant crosses -- once it crosses, the temperatures crash and fall off a cliff. omaha, 11 degrees, bismarck 8. new orleans, 60. this drops in first and then we drop off tuesday. the high plains, anywhere from 8 to 18 degrees below zero. that stays to the west, but it shows you how cold the air mass is. cloudy skies today, monday heavy rain the times, we expect ponding on the roads.

monday evening this front crosses through and that's when the temperatures start to fall. future tracker 6 will time it out and put it altogether, we have nothing today, cloudy skies, a nice afternoon, temperatures milder than yesterday. here's monday morning, 80:00, you can see the steady rains overspreading the delaware valley, even the poconos at that point there's a winter weather advisory that will go into effect for the poconos overnight tonight. you'll see a period of snow changing to sleet and freezing rain and then it's all rain by 3:00, 4:00. this is a rain event temperatures in the 50s, topping out close to 60 degrees. there's the front right there. by 7:30 as that crosses through, the temperatures start to fall. get a load of the windchills. 16 in the allentown. 11 in the poconos. 13 in reading and 22 for philadelphia. by tuesday evening same thing

here's rick williams with tonight's crime fighters report. >> reporter: on wednesday september 10, an employee was closing up at don's check cashing on east hunting park avenue in june at at that section of philadelphia. the time was after 10:00 p.m. surveillance video captures a hooded man outside the store. >> you can see on the the video the perpetrator was pacing up and down waiting for her to come out. as she came out, he snuck up behind her. he put a gun in her back and go back inside. once inside he opened the safe. after the robbery he walks by the camera. he is a black male in his 20s to early 30s, 5'9" medium to dark complex wearing a black hookedy with black stone jeans and tanned boots.
