this is a multi-alarm blaze and one person was taken to the hospital. everybody else managed to get out safely. we are continuing to watch this breaking situation from chopper 6 and we'll bring you more information from kennett square as it becomes available. we are tracking the bitter cold tonight, the delaware and lehigh valley woke up to winter, hats and scarves were needed to brave the weather, but parts of new york state is digging out from a ferocious snow storm, the big story is the arrival of winter like weather on the east coast. it did not help warm things up much. frigid digits, in fact philadelphia tied a record low today while it has warmed a bit it's still below freezing at

this hour. >> cecily tynan has an update from accuweather and eva pilgram with tips with coping with the weather, lets begin with sharrie williams at the big board, with a look at the staggering snowfall in buffalo, new york. we are talking six feet of snow in parts of buffalo, and they are giving you the scope of the storm we are talking about. this is an aerial photo showing how a lake-effect snow storm blanketed the city that normally shrugs it's snow. forecasters say that buffalo will receive a year's worth of snowfall in three days, it has paralyzed the buffalo area, the normally busy interstate 90 was buried under 5 feet of snow and it's blamed for seven deaths, three of those victims died from a heart attack while shoveling snow and officials in new york are preparing for the possibility of even more snow and they have one message for

residents, stay at home. >> please do not be fooled by the beautiful sunshine, there is still tremendous amounts of snow on the ground in south buffalo. >> a travel ban is also in affect there. but lets talk closer to home tonight, we are not facing snow but we are dealing with record cold. cecily tynan is outside of the stutd yos. >> you want to be bundled up if are you outside, we tied a record low, the temperature dropped to 20 degrees tying the record low set back in 1936, reading a new record, of 17 and trenton and wilmington not quite a record, they dropped to 19 degrees and the atlantic city airport, the overnight low down to 20, tuesday's afternoon high only 30 degrees and we did one degree better today in

philadelphia 33 degrees, and this is the earliest stretch of temperatures stuck in the 30s in november since 1996, since 18 years ago it hasn't been this cold in november. temperatures right now still cold, philadelphia 31 and millville 31 and reading 29 and allentown 26, and sea isle city 26 and they are making snow in the ski resorts in the poconos and the wind is not much of a factor today like yesterday. the wind gusts yesterday were up to 40 miles per hour and now down to 15 or 20 but the windchill make its feel like 22 in philadelphia and 29 in trenton and allentown and 23 in wilmington and 21 in reading. so the evening planner if you are headed out, you'll want to bundle up and dress in layers, 8:00, 32 and clouds roll in and this will help keep the heat into the earth so that means it won't be as cold tonight as last

this house in skillman on september 28th has still not been solved and the prosecutors office remains the lead agency in the investigation of the death of john and joyce sheridan, they are now giving manpower and expertise in this case. the sheridans were stabbed multipeople times with three different weapons prior to the fryer being set in their bathroom. and this means only a third party could have committed the crime. the sheridans were remembered in a memorial service in trenton and prior to his career in cooper, sheridan was a well known and politically connected republican that once served as at transportation secretary. his brother is critical so far saying the prosecutor is totally

incompetent and that his sister was stabbed at least eight times and john sheridan had a stab wound on his side and to his neck and was found beneath a large armoir. they ruled out the couple's four sons as suspects but they are not happy with their uncle talking about details about the crime. we do not condone releasing piece meal information and it's not happening get to the truth of what happened to our parents. >> mitch has two questions about his sister's death, what happened and why. so far we don't have the answers. i'm nora muchanic, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you nora. parents accused of failing to make child support payments were taken into custody.

in tonight's health check report there is progress and room for improvement with sugary drinks and children. ali gorman is live at the big board with the new report. >> the first report in 2011 was really an eye onner, they found that befr able makers spent $1 billion a year advertising unhealthy drinks to children and teenagers. now sales are down 70% and that is because companies are putting more ads on social media, one is the addver game. youtube is another sthot promotional video, one has had 10 million views and red bull's channels featured 2200 different videos. >> if beverage companies really want to help, they need to stop

time now for accuweather at the "action news" big board, cecily tynan is here another day where the mercury got our attention. we started with the record low of 20 degrees tying the old record of 20 set in 1936 and the afternoon high only 33 degrees, that is 22 degrees below the average high for this time of year. the average high is 71. millville 31 and reading 29 and trenton 28 degrees and the winds have definitely diminished since

yesterday but a breeze creates a windchill factor, 29 in philadelphia and 19 in allentown and 21 degrees in reading. satellite 6 along with action radar showing that we are in the clear earlier and now some clouds are beginning to drift in from western and central pennsylvania, what this is, is low pressure across the great lakes and there say cold front and this low pressure is heading north of us and that will bring in clouds ahead, and that cranks up the lake-effect snow again across the same area still dealing with the heavy snow up to five feet of snow south of buffalo, the lake-effect snow warnings go into affect at 11:00 tonight. we are looking at another 1 to 3 feet i should stay in the same areas tomorrow. some areas will see up to 8 feet of snow across parts of upstate new york. we don't have to deal with any of that and we'll have some clouds and that will help insulate the earth and it won't

be as cold as last night. 24 in reading and 27 degrees in millville and allentown's low is down to 23 degrees, so the five-day at 5:00 shows tomorrow it will be below normal but compared to today and yesterday, temperatures stuck in the 30s, it will feel much warmer, 35 degrees and loads of sunshine, and on friday colder air behind the cold front and fileters in and the high back in the 30s, 36 degrees and brisk and on saturday chilly and 42 degrees, if you are running the rothman 8 k, temperatures for that race will be in the 30s and mild on sunday for the philadelphia marathon and half marathon, 58 degrees and rain arriving by evening and monis wet and warm with a high of 68 degrees. one thing i love to do is go to the westchester railroad, the santa train that, is where melissa magee is, getting into
