. making news in america this morning -- breaking overnight, shots ring out on the campus of florida state university. students in the library barricading doors as the s.w.a.t. team moves in. we have the latest. bracing for round two of the monster storm. snow fall again in western new york, adding to the feet of snow as icy temperatures settle in for others. new this morning, an on camera exchange between a reporter and bill cosby with his wife. president comments getting attention this morning. and chris hemsworth was named sexiest man alive, but it someone else turn it down more than once?

good thursday morning, i'm t.j. holmes. >> i'm reena ninan. and begin with the breaking news, a shooting incident in tallahassee at florida state. >> took place in and around the school's library just after midnight. the library's quiet shattered by gunfire. >> there has been a shooting in the library. stay where you are. >> that's what fsu students huddled among library shelves heard from police speaking over the intercom. >> if anybody has been shot, call 911 on your cell phone. >> at least three people had been shot, wounded and taken to a nearby hospital. photos online, the scene, students, hands raised as a s.w.a.t. team enters, a makeshift barricade, tables overturned, blocking a second floor door. >> whole commotion, total chaos. >> a junior was in the library.

>> people started yelling about a shooter. basically we were told to gather all of our stuff, not even told, just screamed. we got upstairs. on the third floor, heard six or seven shots in quick succession outside the building. >> police engaged the gunman who was killed. they were taking no chances. clearing students one by one from inside the library. taken to another building and interviewed by authorities. much of their belongings early left behind. we will have updates and a full report on "good morning america." now to the snow. western new york getting hammered again by another round of heavy snow. >> a bird's eye view of buffalo where areas could see a total of 8 feet of snow. the storm is being blamed for at least seven deaths and the cleanup is expected to drag into next week. our coverage with tahman bradley. >> reporter: overnight, round

two. a second wave of heavy lake effect snow in western new york. buffalo is getting pummelled, snow is piling high and breaking doors. >> winter knocked and let itself in. >> reporter: by friday, 8 feet of snow. >> i believe when it's all said and done, this snowfall may break all sorts of records. >> reporter: at least seven people killed, hundreds trapped on highways, but this morning thanks to the national guard, officials say everyone is now safe. including the niagara women's basketball team. catelyn was stuck on the highway for over 30 hours. >> no food, no water. literally surrounded by about, you know, 4 to 5 feet of snow. >> reporter: the city is trying to dig out as it continues. the buffalo bills are offering $10 an hour to anyone who can shovel before the game on sunday. shovels are out in other parts of new york, but it could take days to clear the snow. >> running us of snacks and drinks.

just trying to survive right now. >> reporter: from wisconsin to michigan, millions are buried in snow. >> it's cold. it's crazy. it's fun. once you get used to it, i'm sure we all like it, but ready for it to be done. >> reporter: the rest of the country is coping with brutally cold temperatures. more than a dozen record lows tied or broken from the gulf coast to new england. but good news, warmer weather is on the way. >> but it's not moving in just yet. things will get worse before they get better. >> and accuweather meteorologist jim dickey is tracking it all. good morning. now round two for the buffalo area. winds picking up once again, allowing the band to form. drifting southward through the day. but under the band, whiteout conditions. snowfall rates, 5 inches an hour. an additional 1 to 2 feet in addition to what's on the ground. and across the great lakes, downwind of the lake, 6 to 12

undocumented parents of kids born here. >> all of a sudden they could be separated from you because i'm here and this is my home, but they're not legal. >> reporter: it may be welcome relief, but it's only temporary and does not include a pathway to citizenship or access to federal health care benefits. the president's plan is expected to include more visas for high-skilled workers and beefed up security along the border. a majority of americans support the presidential action on immigration. >> and the country is going to go nuts. >> reporter: congressional republicans warn the president's move could spark violence. >> hopefully not. but you could see instances of anarchy. >> reporter: both sides waiting to hear from the president and preparing to raise their voices in the streets and in the courts. devin dwyer, abc news with the white house. there's another alarming incident near the white house. the secret service arrested a 41-year-old iowa man one block away after a search of his car

showed a rifle and ammunition. he said someone in iowa told him to go to the white house. he's charged only with having an unregistered gun. recent scares are being investigated when pilots saw drones close to the planes. two incidents. sunday, a virgin atlanta pilot spotted a drone, and a delta pilot saw one. and just yesterday, another on approach to jfk. none of the planes had to take evasive action. and the tense situation in ferguson, missouri. deciding to whether or not to charge the white police officer who killed michael brown. they have the makeup of st. louis county, nine are white, three are black. the family says the system favors officer darren wilson. in san francisco, furious

university of california students protested outside of a regents committee hearing, hoping to stop the vote on a tuition hike. it involves raising fees by as much as 5% over each of the next five years. the committee approved the increase. still ahead, consumer criticism after another airline stops the free bag era. and test results out for mini vans with troubling results. and the cosby controversy widens with a new interview released overnight.

well, jetblue is cutting leg room and going to start charging for bags. the airline announcing yesterday it will add 15 seats to the fleet of air bus a 320s. and the bag fees will only apply to the least expensive tickets. jetblue says the moves will help it raise, get this, $300 million a year. one of america's most popular family vehicles is coming up short on safety. the latest front crash test for mini vans are out. it's serious front collapse. many scored a low rating. toyota sienna was acceptable, the honda odyssey was highest. and the japanese company with air bags linked to multiple deaths and injuries is on capitol hill. they will be answering
