good afternoon, we begin with breaking news at this hour. police say that two children were killed during a shooting outside of a home in tabernacle, burlington county. are you looking live from chopper 6, investigators say that another child and woman were wounded and rushed to the hospital. >> the shooting was reported at 9:15 this morning at this hom on holly park drive. david henry is live at the scene gathering the latest information. >> reporter: as you can imagine this quiet suburban neighborhood is rocked by what happened. a scene of carnage behind me and state police are on the scene continuing with their investigation. it played out in a house that you can't quite see behind foliage back there. here is what we have learned so

far, apparently at 9:00 this morning, a woman in the house discovered the carnage, the victims were all in one of the bedrooms and there were other adults in the house at the time and when police arrived they found the bodies of a boy and girl. a woman and another boy were still alive. they were flown to the cooper medical center trauma unit. no word from the hospital on their conditions, the police state crime scene unit are there gathering evidence. right now it appears to have been a murder-suicide. neighbors say this is a blended household with two sets of parents and their children. one couple just moved in recently. one woman says her grandchildren played with the kids in the house, we can see toys and a swimming pool in the backyard.

no word what may have touched off the violence in this household. but is it appears to be a murder-suicide. adults were in the house at the time and the bodies and wounded were found in one the bedrooms in the house and the other adults in the house did not report hearing gunshots and neither did neighbors. state police are on the scene wrapping up their investigation and we expect to get a briefing at 1:00 this afternoon and we'll bring you the latest as soon as it is available. david henry, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you david. "action news" chad pradelli is gathering more information about the victims that survived, he joins us live outside of cooper university hospital in camden with the latest from there. >> reporter: not much activity outside of the emergency room here, we have limited information but here is what we know, the two victims, a woman and boy were flown here to cooper university hospital, and

bother are currently in the trauma unit and in critical condition according to a hospital spokeswoman, their ages and relationships are unknown and not released at this time. they were found earlier along where another boy and girl in that home in tabernacle and all had been shot. we are following new developments, and on a side note we are told that grief counselors will be made available to firefighters and first responders, there are children involved in this shooting, it can be tough and terrible for the first responders and the grief counselors are available. two victims here at cooper university hospital, a woman and boy, both in critical condition and both in the trauma unit. we'll follow this story throughout the afternoon. >> chad, thank you. police killed the gunman that opened fire on a college

campus in florida this morning. the suspect started shooting inside of a library at florida state university just after midnight. the library was packed with hundreds of students that were studying for exams, they scrambled for cover and climbed under desks and the building was locked down. >> if you know someone that has been shot call 911. >> two students were wounded and taken to hospitals, and a third student was treated at the scene for a graze wound, the gunman was killed when he shot at police outside of the library. police say it was an isolated incidents. right now the buffalo area is already buried under six feet of snow but the latest snow could drop 1 to 3 feet in towns that are struggling to dig out. carolyn costello reports with

the latest from buffalo. >> reporter: another wave of heavy snow hitting the northeast today, turning homes into igloos in south buffalo, trapping people inside. mother nature adding her own bang to this blast. buffalo is getting pounded with record accumulations, the area is expected to get as much snow this week as it gets in a year. 220,000 tons of snow covering ralph wilson stadium. city crews and the national guard still trying to clear the snow clogged highways and had to rescue stranded drivers and state officials have banned others from the roads. >> we are in a much better position than yesterday but we are still not home, and there are more chapters in this story before it is done. >> the epic snow and below freezing temperatures aren't just in buffalo, most of the

buffalo, there doesn't look like much going on there but it's the things, narrow band of heavy snow. the wind is carrying to areas due north of us in albany and syracuse, down here i saw auto puff of something in lancaster and berks county for 15 minutes this morning and that was it and it was not a particularly large chunk of snow just a little bit of stuff in the upper atmosphere. 45 in philadelphia, and as promised we are much milder than we were yesterday. as we look at the 24 temperature change, we are 15 degrees from where we were this time yesterday. we'll stay milder than yesterday afternoon. winds out of the southwest at 14 miles per hour, we are milder and it sure is chilly and windchills are making it feel like 30s in philadelphia and 40 in wilmington. 5 or 6 degrees cooler than the temperature would indicate. as we take a look at the high,

getting up to 47 this afternoon and that is well below the average of 54, tonight's low is 26 and that is an even bigger spread, that tells you that colder air is on its way in. we get another shot of the colder air coming in for tomorrow. the question is can we get rid of it over the weekend? more on the exclusive weekend call coming up. dozens of baggage handlers walked off the job this morning, they staged the one day strike to protest bad work conditions that they say are dangerous. they are employed by the contractor, prime flight. they handle bags near curbs and carousels. katherine scott will have more on the complaints and possible impact for travellers coming up in a live report at 12:30. police in berks county are searching for to inmates that

forward to say they were assaulted by cosby. the comedian's lawyer denies the charges. the oscar winning director, mike nichols has died. he was best known for his oscar for the graduate. he had a career of more than 50 years and during much of that time he was married to diane sawyer. and now president obama is getting ready to sign executive action on immigration reform and it could spare 5 million immigrants from deportation. it will expand the two year program to protect young immigrants and spouses of permanent residents, the president will reveal his plans in an address to the nation and we'll stream the comments live at 6abc.com. ♪this holiday season, my good friend gave to me♪

we want to go back to the top story now, new jersey state police gave a brief update on the deadly shooting in tabernacle, new jersey. >> at the red lion station we got a call of a reported shooting, when trooper as rived here they found that four people were shot and two of them fatally, two of them a boy and

girl. they remain in the house right now, and there are two people that were still breathing and they were medevaced to cooper hospital. an adult woman and another child, a boy. they are at cooper right now, the investigation is on going, we don't know a whole lot to tell you, i can tell you there is not a massive manhunt going on and public should not feel alarmed or threatened. we'll provide nor details. and the incident was reported by family members that were in the house at the time. nobody heard the shooting, and we won't get into reasons why right now but that shooting did occur believed to be in the overnight to the 9:00 hour time frame. and at this point, like i said, it's state police major crime

the improved and improving forecast. for the next 12 to 18 hours, and then it starts to get cold again, stormtracker 6 live double scan we are showing no precipitation out there, good for us as we take a look outside, we have some clouds mixing with sun earlier but it looks like a fair amount of sunshine is breaking through the clouds at the airport and we expect the rest of the afternoon to remain bright. 45 in philadelphia, quite a bit better than this time yesterday. we were only at 30 at the noon hour. winds west at 14 and it's breezy out there. you'll still want a coat as you head out. 42 in only town and 45 in wilmington and struck the 50 degree mark in wildwood at this noon hour. satellite shows you clouds ought outin and that patch that is thicker, there it goes moving off the cost and we are getting clouds. and allentown chilly and high of

48 degrees, a bit milder than yesterday and down the shore even milder than yesterday getting up into the upper 40s in spots including atlantic city. philadelphia a high of 47 degrees this afternoon and mostly sunny and not as cold as it was yesterday, there is that 10 to 20 miles per hour wind that is fluctuating back and forth. tomorrow colder air moves in, because the winds are from southwest and then the northwest, 26 is going to be a lot cooler for an overnight low, and tomorrow afternoon going up to 36, it will be a bit breezy with the high pressure center shift to the west, to allow the winds to spill down. brisk wind 12 to 22 miles per hour tomorrow. your exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, a high of 47 today, grab a coat but a lot nicer outside today than

yesterday. and get outdoor stuff done today because tomorrow we are back to 36 and we'll have the brisk wind keeping the windchills in the 20s tomorrow. saturday partly sunny and chilly and 42 in the afternoon but sunday looks like improvement, we get up to the mid-50s again right around average for this time of year. there is some rain on the way but it looks to hold off until nighttime. and it appears that the eagles game will likely be dry. monday, a couple of showers around and a fair amount of clouds but a high of 68, that is almost 70 and that is like double where we were yesterday. so definite improvement on monday despite the showers and holding on to 60 on tuesday and 40s on wednesday. >> 68? >> and probably 40s for thanksgiving as well. but that is even better. >> can you reverse that? >> stop it.

welcome back we want to update you on our breaking news story, four people were found shot insides of a home in burlington county. >> police were called to 39 holly park drive in tabernacle at 9:15, they found two children a boy and girl shot dead and a woman and another boy were rushed to the hospital.

"action news" reporter, david henry is live at the scene and chad pradelli is live at cooper university hospital. lets start with david. >> reporter: well, as you can imagine rick, this awful scene has rocked this entire neighborhood, a quiet suburban neighborhood here in tabernacle. police are still on the scene continuing with their investigation but we got an update a short time ago, from police captain jones. >> the incident was reported by other family members who were actually in the house at the time. nobody heard the shooting and we won't get into reasons why right now, the shooting is believed to be in the overnight to that 9:00 hour time frame. >> we are told that all the victims were found in one of the bedrooms inside of the house by

one of the adults that also lives there, when police arrived, they found the bodies of the boy and girl, and police have not revealed their ages yet, and a woman and boy were still alive and they were flown to the cooper university medical trauma center. they are continuing their investigation and sources tell us that this appears to have been a murder-suicide. the police are not looking for any suspects at this time. they say there is no massive kind of manhunt and the public doesn't have to fear anybody running around with a gun. this is a blended house with two sets of parents and their children. one couple just moved in recently and neighbor says their children played with the children of that household and there was never a sign of trouble or discord that would lead to something this horrible but police are here on the scene wrapping up their investigation

the police in tallahassee confronted the man and told him to drop his handgun, he shot at officers and they shot back. baggage handlers at philadelphia international airport hit the picket line today to demand a fair wage. katherine scott is live at the airport with the latest. >> reporter: rick, i just want to start out by saying i did reach out to the airport and u.s. airways, and both say this strike did not affect operations and the airlines had contingency plans in place. these workers don't load and unload the luggage from the planes but handle baggage at other areas of the airport. they are not union and they are joined by members of saiu and other groups as they speak out against their employer. >> dozens of employees of the

contractor prime flight hit the picket lines today, they say they are protesting unsafe conditions and low wages. and those that have spoken out have been targeted. >> i spoke to the councilwoman and two days later they fired me. >> we are only asking for a fair wage to take care of our families. we are asking for the same. >> the strike began before the sun came up, prime flight works in different roles for different airlines, but one is handling baggage at curbs and carousels, they voted on a ballot question to raise the wage for these employees to $10.26 an hour but it hasn't happened.

>> this international company wants to do philadelphia and skirt our law, these workers should be getting a living wage. a letter from prime flight says that the company believes that a strike under these circumstances and that individual employees did not give adequate notice that they would walk out. >> we are up to 125 employees that are expected out here throughout the day and "action news" has reached out to prime flight multiple times and they have not returned our calls for comment. and we hear that the strike is not affecting the operations at the airport today. >> katherine, thank you. turning now to accuweather, we are enjoying a one day reprieve from the intense cold. taking a live look from sky 6 hd from the ben franklin bridge and nice out there and not quite as

chilly, you don't want to put away the coats yet and taking another plunge in the hours ahead. lets head to david murphy with more from accuweather. we still have the coat on today even before the next plunge, i don't have the ear muffs on. we have a sweep of clouds that came through before the morning rush hour and now it's off the coast and we have thin clouds overhead and the sunshine is breaking through pretty well. temperatures along the coast are not bad. washington 52 and 55 in richmond and 45 in philadelphia. there is colder air just out to the west though, pittsburgh at 26 degrees right now and that cooler air is going to shift to the east tomorrow. future tracker shows you there is a wind and it's having an affect today and the windchill is below the 40 degree mark. and as numbers tumble your windchills will be closer to the freezing mark and later today

>> lawmakers and other experts say that when the takata airbags explode, they can send shrapnel through the bag and into the driver but so far takata is unwilling to expand the recall, and they want to know how long they knew internally about the problem before they released the recall. >> federal regulators are also testifying today saying their data does not support a national recall. reporting live in washington, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. students and volunteers came together in philadelphia's nice town neighborhood to transform homes, the philadelphia charter school teamed up with building material companies to install siding, fencing and railing at the homes under construction.

the delaware state troopers association is offering a reward for information on someone that shot one of their on. it happened exactly a year ago today and he made a full recovery and appeared at today's announcement. there is a $10,000 reward for the suspect or suspects involved in the shooting, all tips can remain anonymous, just call

1-800-tips-3333. police in dover say a tip from facebook helped to track down a man wanted for a home invasion. eric wyatt was arrested last night on bacon avenue, he reportedly tried to take off in a disguise but officers found him in another home a block away. he broke into a home on saturday and threatened to reads with a gun. he left his wallet behind. experts are telling people with webcams and baby monitors and cameras to change their passwords now. a website in russia is posting live footage from homes and businesses using the pass words, some are as simple as 1, 2, 3, 4. barbie has taught girls they can grow up to be whatever they

western new york is getting another blast of lake-effect snow today. forecasters are expected to add another 1 to 3 feet of snow in edition of what already fell. it has contributed to the death of 11 people and stranded hundreds of people along the new york state thruway, they have not cleared the snow from the first one yet. baby lucy grace is remembered coming into the world during the heighten storm in buffalo and it kept the parents from getting to the hospital in time. a nurse was stranded near her home and got her to a nearby firehouse where lucy was born and mother and baby have since been taken to a local hospital. it's unbelievable up there david. >> it really is.

you won't have that after the lake freezes. there is a little bit of an explanation. get ready for the lake to freeze. stormtracker 6 live double scan we are looking high and dry, as we take a look outside, we have sky 6, looking north along the shore and the sunshine has broken through it, hid behind the clouded earlier but looking good now. looking at the forecast, we are indeed higher, running 10 to 15 degrees higher than yesterday's temperatures. but it gets colder on friday, you'll see gradual improvement over the weekend. temperature now 45 and winds 14 miles per hour officially at the airport and we are looking at them at 10 to 20 miles per hour, we are a little bit blustery, 20 right now outside of the

poconos, a 15 miles per hour wind in wilmington we can trade and shuffle them as the winds go up and down, and a big swatch of cloud cover and it's now gone and these clouds are thin enough to get sunshine in between them. looking at high temperatures it's cooler up north and milder down south, 44 is the high and 47 in philadelphia and 48 in millville and close to 50 in spots down to the shore, and in wildwood we reach the 50 degree mark. 45 degrees by 3:00 and temperatures are starting to dip a bit there, and 34 degrees by 7:00, and we are getting back into the 30s tonight. 30 on the nose by 9:00 and your overnight low, an indication of colder air coming in. if we look at temperatures across the country now, 45 with a couple more degrees still to come in philadelphia, 54 in
