opened fire at florida state university. and now the details on the still developing story out of tabernacle, new jersey, a mother and son are fighting for their lives after a deadly shooting inside of their home in rural burlington county. a family member discovered the horrible scene and found one boy and one girl dead. but the mother and one of her other children were still clinging to life. sara bloomquist is live outside of cooper university hospital tonight where the surviving pair were flown. >> reporter: rick that is right, that woman and boy believed to be her son remain here at cooper university hospital in extremely critical condition, as you said two other children a boy and girl were pronounced dead at the scene, a source tells "action news" that investigators believe this was an attempted

murder-suicide double murder. troopers went door-to-door as others converged on holly park drive in tabernacle looking for answers. it was 9:00 a.m. when state police took the call that a woman and three kids believed to be her children were shot inside of the home. >> it's a tragedy, there is nothing to say, it's children that didn't deserve it. >> a boy and girl were pronounced dead at the scene and a woman and another boy showed signs of life and were flown to cooper university hospital. >> as you are aware, our troopers are trained to expect the unexpected but a crime scene like this is impossible to prepare for. >> they believe the shooting happened at any time from late last night to 9:00 this moning.

nobody in the house heard the gun fire but did not explain how that was possible. the handgun was recovered at the scene and they believe it was used to shoot all four victims. >> the detectives and investigators and team now responsible for getting the answers are here and going to be here for i suspect a long time to figure out exactly what happened. now, from the onset state police made it clear that there was no active search for the shooter and a manhunt is underway. the woman believed to be their mother is also fighting for her life. live in camden, i'm sara bloomquist channel 6 "action news." >> once again we know that four people were shot in this house on holly park drive in tabernacle, new jersey.

a boy and girl were killed at the scene and the woman believed to be their mother and another boy are in cooper university hop. two victims remain hospitalized after a shooting at florida state university. now we learn that the man that pulled the trigger is a lawyer that graduated from the school. the accused shooter is myron may, and all classes at fsu were canceled today. >> on the campus of florida state university, students held an outdoor vigil to express their grief after an on campus shooting. >> we are here to supeach other.

>> the shooter, now known as myron may, opened fire in the library just after midnight. videos post the online showed the frightening scene. hundreds of students were sent scurrying for cover beneath the bookshelves. >> there has been a shooting in the library. >> that is the announcement they heard. >> if anybody has been shot call 911 on your cell phone. >> three people were wounded and taken to a nearby hospital where police say that one remains in critical condition. when confronted by police on the library steps moments after the shootings, may opened fire and they returned fire and killed him. >> we have not found information at this time why he chose this morning to act. investigators say he may have used a semi automatic handgun
