approaching montgomery -- schuylkill expressway approaching montgomery drive. no delays. the overnight construction on the tacony-palmyra bridge has cleared, so things are looking pretty good there. we have a downed pole from an earlier accident in chester, delaware county, 291 west second street at jeffrey street. police are on hand directing traffic at the scene. stick to west third, instead. a sinkhole in bethlehem, north hampton county, that swallowed up a utility truck. what a mess. stick to washington street. construction blocking two lanes on 168 that's the black horse pike near nicholson road. >> let's continue with our breaking story that broken water main that set off a series of problems in the lehigh valley. a sinkhole opened up and a neighborhood had to evacuate. katherine scott is live near the scene along hampton road in bethlehem township. good morning, catherine.

>> reporter: good morning, matt, yeah, it was one thing after another, more than 30 residents had to evacuate, the red cross had to open the shelter so they can stay warm and spend the night while work continues to be done on hampton road in bethlehem township. crews remain on the scene they have been here all night long. i want to go to the picture. this is what crews were dealing with, a ppl truck that toppled into a sinkhole and on top of a gas main. that truck was removed. crews were initially called to the 1800 block of hampton around 8:00. while crews were there, a sing hole opened up and the utility truck was swallowed on it. was on top of a four inch natural gas line that caused an evacuation of 300-foot raid us

in the neighborhood. the driver of the truck was able to get out and not hurt. the gas and water was shut off, while they try to remove the truck from the sinkhole. they have work to do here, so far we have not been given a time line when the gas will come back on, we'll get updates and bring them to you, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> thanks, katherine. new from the overnight, fire forced a family out of their home in delaware county. they broke out the 100 block of east riverly avenue in olden, at 2:00 a.m. everyone got out safely. no word on cause. 5:04. penndot is sending a fleet of plows up to buffalo, new york, they need the help as they dig out from seven feet of flow. this morning there's new concern, flooding, the temperatures are expected to warm up fast and that could

trigger a meltdown. >> the buildings that are compromise the, the buildings that are at risk for further collapse will be in a worse situation once that happens, there will be extra weight because of the rain. >> the snowfall is blamed for ten deaths and stranding dozens of motorists. the nfl has moved the bills jets game from buffalo to detroit, the stadium still needs to be cleared of all that snow. >> happening today, a federal judge is expected to rule on new jersey's efforts to legalize sports betting. the four major sports league and the ncaa is suing to block it. the technicality is expected on sports gambling. there's worrisome news in the atlantic city casino industry. a judge will consider whether

as we look outside, we have mainly clear skies, we'll have sunshine down the shore and it's colder today, you can see the camera bouncing, because we have significant winds whipping through the region. 30 degrees in philadelphia. 27 degrees in trenton. 29 in wilmington, 25 in allentown, 29 in millville, the freezing mark in sea isle city and along the boardwalk in ac. winds are in the teens and that's giving you witches making it feel like the teens across the region. 18 in millville. 19 in wilmington, 17 in allentown and feels like 20 in philadelphia and down along the shorepoints. definitely a morning for the extra gear, okay? satellite, radar, shows you very little satellite, a little bit of that snow is waffling through western new york and shades all around i-95 or the turnpike, obviously it will be bright. up in allentown, there's sunshine, that's not the problem.

the problem is the temperature. 36 degrees, brisk, blustery winds will feel like the teens and 20s. down the shore, sunny, brisk and cooler than yesterday. in philadelphia, our high this afternoon is 38 degrees, mainly sunny skies, brisk and colder and there are the winds out of the northwest gusting as high as 30 miles per hour at times this afternoon. as we roll through the day, 29 by 8:00, the freezing mark by 11:00. if you have errands to run, hold off until this afternoon, you'll get up to 40 degrees by 2:00 with sun, but strong winds. back closer to the freezing mark by 5:00. as we take a look at temperatures to the west of us, there's a trough of cold air, we'll start tapping into the slightly milder stuff over the next several days. as we go through saturday and especially monday, things do get better. a couple of races to talk about, saturday there's an 8k in philadelphia. there's a start time temperature of 28 degrees at 7:30.

sunday we have the philadelphia marathon and 38 degrees at 38:00. 53 at noon. eagles, titans are in town. 53 kickoff temperature. today's high, 38, brisk and colder. partly sunny tomorrow, brisk and chilly.sunday, we get warmer wia temperature of 56 degrees. monday, there's showers, other than that the sun returns, we'll get a high of 70 degrees is the high there and still close to 60 on tuesday, looks like thanksgiving is dry, but 47, so kind of cool and probably starting in the mid to upper 30s at sunrise, so you'll need a blanket early for the parade.
